Coleman was a 4 year starter at UT. Struggled his first few years as he was matching up against larger, more physical receivers on the outside. Settled in nicely to nickel, where he was very dependable all season. I think he could possibly be picked earlier than the projections are saying.
AJ Johnson (ILB): UDFA or Possibly not a prospect (see below)
Johnson is a talented ILB. Excels in run support and downhill tackling (led the SEC in his Junior season), average in pass coverage and sideline to sideline speed. He would have been a 3rd rounder or better if not for legal issues. Has currently been indicted in a rape case involving another student at UT. Everything I've heard about the situation points to his guilt, and thus, he won't make the NFL. However, he is innocent until proven guilty, so I guess he can be included in the list for the time being.
Marlin Lane Jr. (RB) UDFA
I think Lane will actually make a practice squad, and perhaps one day, an NFL roster. Not the fastest or most powerful back, but he's shifty enough and hits the hole hard. Dealt with injury and coaching changes at UT and never got the fair shake I thought he deserved.
Justin Worley (QB) UDFA
Worley had a mostly sub-par career at UT. Hard to evaluate fully though, as he made big strides in completion percentage in his senior season, but was lost to injury due to horrendous offensive line play. I think he might be brought into a camp, but don't see him making it in the NFL.
Jordan Williams (DE) UDFA
Williams is interesting as he never stood out, but was always very solid at the LOS. Best suited to play DE in a 3-4 as he added weight at UT to shift inside.
As a side note, you can see how Tennessee has struggled so mightily as of late, with players projected like the one's above.
#Tennessee has suspended All-SEC LB A.J. Johnson and soph DB Michael Williams from all team-related activities.
Both were allegedly involved in the sexual assault of two females. If the allegations are true, both should be immediately kicked off of the team and put in jail. No room for this kind of trash on the football field, or anywhere else in society.
Florida made the right move for sure. Guy was in over his head. Unfortunately, I think the Gators get it right and hire a good candidate this time. It will make UT's rise back to SEC East contention a bit more difficult.
We can have an Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco, Alex Smith type guy throwing them the ball. I like DA throwing to Olsen, KB, Amari, and Swolebones.
I doubt Rivera will give Cam an adequate chance as long as he's here. This season is a wash then. We've confirmed there is absolutely nothing we can do with this O-line, and our receivers suck. I wish if that were the case, they would play Anderson. Let me see what a more traditional QB can do with this kind of team.
DA proved in his multiple times as a starter that he isn't in the same stratosphere as the 3 QBs you listed. Cam Newton is the first true franchise QB this team has had since its inception, and fans want to trade him. It's asinine. To truly become a contender, this team must address the secondary and oline through the draft and free agency, because both are a huge detriment right now.
