#2917611 Russian Vodka to be banned in Europe and US?

Posted by pantherclaw on Yesterday, 08:37 PM

It's a shame as the best vodkas are russian, ukrainian, and polish.

While america does have some good vodkas, they can't compete quality/price.

It's a good thing vodka isn't a priority in my drinking.

As long as our starting 5 guys stay healthy, I believe this oline will come together better than anybody expects.

#2915668 Punt Returner Free Agents

Posted by pantherclaw on 29 August 2014 - 10:51 PM

Contrary to what KK and CRA would have you believe, you actually can improve your ability to catch a punt. As you practice you get more comfortable. As you get more comfortable, it becomes increasingly easier, and more natural. So yea, practice can make a difference.

Also, the guy last night was a left footed punter. Those can be tricky for anyone, let alone for young guys.

IF Philly wants to make the team, and make a lasting impression. He has to improve. It is obvious the team wants him to succeed. It is up to him to put in the time to get more comfortable.

To me, it is just plain silly to state the kid doesn't have a shot at getting better. But then again, this is the Huddle where folks will tell you anything to make themselves sound good. And to allay their own fears.

nice post. The kid has the ability.

Now if can just keep running without losing his feet.

#2914506 Is it still to early to be worried about Byron Bell?

Posted by pantherclaw on 29 August 2014 - 08:36 AM

Players get beat.

How quickly we forget the struggles Gross had when he first played LT for the Panthers.
It made fans cry for most of his career, that he was nothing but a RT.

Now people realize just how good Gross was, a solid LT.

Bell us our LT for this season. That makes me expect to hear crying about it all season long.

#2914402 Punt Returner Free Agents

Posted by pantherclaw on 29 August 2014 - 06:38 AM

Ginn wasn't a great returner for us.
Considering how good he was at it earlier in his career, I was honestly disappointed with him.
He was better than what we had for years, so it doesn't surprise me there are a few delusional fans thinking AZ will cut him.

Philly Brown is a rookie, and it was preseason.
I'm certainly not going to over react to it at this time.
He will get better fielding punts.

Fans think it's so easy. Even the pros have a muffed punt or two from time to time.

I'll certainly give hime the time to get better, and see how he does in regular season.

If we were going to cut players based on preseason performance, at least a quarter of our starting lineup would be cut. Including many fan favorites.

#2911432 Since 2000, 24 teams have allowed 16 or fewer ppg...

will be tougher for teams to do going forward with the league emphasis on scoring.

but if anyone can make it happen.......RR can.

the league has been putting an emphasis on scoring for over 20 years.

#2910128 About Roman Harper...

Posted by pantherclaw on 26 August 2014 - 11:41 AM

Harper is a quality SS.
He will be a leader in the secondary.

Yes, he played fir the Saints. No longer.

He is now a Panther, and considering no other safety on the roster comes close to his leadership, vet savy, we should be embracing him.

Instead, y'all would rather hate. May God show mercy on your souls.

#2909715 Would you trade Anderson to St Louis?

Posted by pantherclaw on 26 August 2014 - 12:03 AM

Yes! If Cam goes down our season is already done. With Webb he can scramble and make something out of nothing, while Anderson would just take the sack or throw the ball away. Webb is very similar to Cam, Anderson is not.

Anderson is a competent QB. He has a very strong, accurate arm. He also knows how to throw the ball away, so he would have less negative plays.
The team would suffer more from losing Luke. (Knock on wood).

#2907218 This offense will miss Steve Smith

Real world experience? I manage a store that does over 2 million in sales every year, while commuting back and forth to school.

congratulations to the glorified baby sitting job you have.

Cam's development as a leader and taking control over this team ( which is very obvious that he's done that) is much, MUCH more important than another year with Smitty.

The end.

First question is irrelevant, I just want to hear these problems from reliable sources yeah he rubbed cbs wrong but the rest I don't see happening the way it's been stated(yelling at cam, disobeying Rivera, not wanting to move to slot ect)

I have heard from reliable sources, events, issues, problems that would flat out change your opinion of 89 forever.

I still love Steve Smith, but I have moved on. The Panthers have to, more out of need.

Someday you will to.

#2906159 This offense will miss Steve Smith

The Panther offense has been needing to evolve from Steve Smith for years.

I know change is painful most, but please, move on.
The Panthers are waitung for you.

Don't feel they would ever try to get equal carries.

It's more about going with the hot hand, while having fresh legs and quality depth, cause injuries happen, much to the dismay of us fans.
