It sounds to me like he thought he was better than he actually was. Tokoto was a good defender with great athletic ability. He was an awful shooter. Roy probably tried to stop him shooting...not saying he gave him the red light but Tokoto's shot selection was mind numbingly bad at times. I'm sure every recruit wants to come out of high school and be the go to guy on offense...but he just didn't have that ability.
This may work out for him, who knows. If he can actually improve his jump shot to a point where the coaches or fans don't cringe every time he puts it up...he may make a good back up on some NBA team.
If he gets drafted I'll be shocked.
Really an odd decision by Tokoto, but heck the Hornets probably draft him in the first round...
Varga would add depth at RB/ST, he's not really a FB.
"Muscular, well-defined physique. Has hands the size of an offensive lineman. Determined player with willingness to switch from running back to fullback. Strong legs to power through angle tackles. Runs with above average change of direction and uses effective spin move. Able to stop on a dime and make defenders miss. Showed reliable hands out of backfield at Senior Bowl practices."
