#1972566 Does Peter King know something we don't?

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 30 October 2012 - 04:01 PM

I used to huff glue too, you gotta get off that sh!t man its no bueno.

it's a great comparison if you ignore the fact that ryan leaf didn't care at all about winning, had no work ethic, and had meltdowns in front of the media that make cam's worst moments look like he invited everybody back to his condo for pizza and beer.

I just don't understand why Cam wouldn't get another few years to see how the cement hardens. You're not going to do any better than him at the position.

i disagree.

we should just keep drafting quarterbacks high until one of them wins the super bowl for us as a rookie or second year player.

Brooklyn Bully: OH BOY OP YOU BETTER RUN BECAUSE YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO CRITIQUE CAM ON THIS BOARD! SEE MY ENTIRE USELESS POST HISTORY FOR MORE OF THE SAME AIMLESS LOW-QUALITY SHITPOSTING!

#1969388 is there a video or gif of norman's pick zero?

there are worse instincts to have than to take it to the house if you get your hands on a ball.

#1969337 The new GM and new coach in 2013 need to sit Cam behind a vet QB

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 28 October 2012 - 08:46 PM

I thought stats don't matter and wins do...Cam left field with a 22-20 lead...is that not winning.

one thing i've learned about people who make these kind of arguments is that stats don't matter until they do.

#1969333 The new GM and new coach in 2013 need to sit Cam behind a vet QB

If you're going to sit here and try and convince me that one clutch throw means Cam Newton plays great in crunch time, you're burying your head in the sand. Not one player in this league would say that Cam Newton is a clutch player. Not ONE. And CERTAINLY not in 2012.

lol i don't think anybody is actually saying that. i don't believe that cam newton is "great in crunch time" but i saw an assertion from you that i (and several others) immediately knew was not correct and responded to it.

in vintage sam mills fan fashion though your next move was to say that it actually didn't matter and we're all stupid anyway.

#1969302 Im not gay but....

#1969270 The new GM and new coach in 2013 need to sit Cam behind a vet QB

He had some great throws today! I'm not saying otherwise. The point is solely these weird mental blocks he has in these crunch times situations. Not one person can point out a crunch time pass Cam has came up with in basically two seasons of work. Pretty telling, no? There's a reason his record is what it is.

4th and 17 or whatever to lafell in the vikings game last season just off the top of my head

#1969014 Cam Newton

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 28 October 2012 - 07:27 PM

what about cam driving us all the way down the field right after that but smitty dropping the td?

that was cam's fault too

#1968246 Choke Newton strikes again

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 28 October 2012 - 04:04 PM

We are 1-6. If Louis Murphy doesn't scoop that fumble how would his argument look?

if steve smith didn't slip on that route how would your argument look?

we're 6-1 if we play the "if" game

#1965044 Cam Newton needs to be treated like Alex Smith

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 26 October 2012 - 10:43 PM

LOL...4 of this teams 5 loses have come by 6 points or less. This team has been in every game except one. The defense is showing real improvement. This is not a team that has "quit" and is not poorly coached. They have a young quarterback who just cannot get it done in the clutch. They are close. They are really, really close. They just need to get back to traditional football and treat Cam Newton like an average, young quarterback until he proves he is something more.

so when you see cam forced to run a slow developing read option play fake into the teeth of a blitz that immediately overwhelms our interior line and has immediate pressure in his face you don't think coaching or playcalling.

you look at that and think "wow, cam sucks".

#1965024 Cam Newton needs to be treated like Alex Smith

so we need to bring in and subsequently fire a hundred offensive coordinators and head coaches until we finally land a harbaugh

#1963577 Bill Polian on Who Has a High Ceiling. RG3 or Cam

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 25 October 2012 - 10:10 PM

we had a slow afternoon at work so i spent most of it watching griffin's games on game rewind. i'm no expert but it really, really looks to me like griffin only has one read on most of his pass plays. a lot of what washington runs are quick hitter pass plays that get the ball out of griffin's hands as fast as possible to his receivers without having him go through a progression. this seems to become particularly clear on slower developing plays where his receivers are running deep routes. it looks like he just stares down one guy and waits for him to come open. it also doesn't look like he's really looking off the defense either; he seems to lock on to one side of the field and only looks at the other side if he's looking to run.

of course, if this is how the offense is designed, i can't really blame him for doing what he's supposed to. that'd be rather hypocritical of me considering how i pin most of cam's problems this season on the shitstupid offense we're running. it's an interesting possibility though especially considering the sort of dichotomy between "stupid" newton who can't run a pro offense supposedly and "cerebral" griffin that we always see being pushed.

#1962819 Newton Shows True Colors.

Posted by Nicks To The Colts on 25 October 2012 - 10:47 AM

hahahahaha...."take care" ****logs on every 5 minutes to see angry responses*****

you are an idiot plain and simple. There is nothing to discuss. We run the ball 10 times a game, it makes it damn near impossible to attack downfield. Without Cam we arent even in the position to win. some of those 3rd and long 30yard runs, who else can do that and keep the drive alive?

"well it's clear that i can't have an intelligent conversation with you people because you won't uncritically accept my assertions as fact. ta ta!"

*keeps posting*

#1962722 Someone explain something to me...

neg rep to smack was an awesome method for self-policing this forum.

a lot of the users here pine for the good old days but a lot of what made that possible was the fact that hit and run trolls and people with ten posts making their awesome threads about bringing back john fox were quickly relieved of their ability to post on the main board.
