#3223441 Breaking News - Gettlemagic Selects Defensive End on the first Round.

Posted by CRA on 29 January 2015 - 02:38 PM

Best defense in the NFL past 2 seasons....has the best secondary not DL in the NFL.

DL is important. I'd prefer an all around D than one that relies on DEs to set everyone else up

#3219787 Gordon fails another drug test

that's really stupid imo alcohol isn't against the law he shouldn't get banned a whole year for that & yeah he got a dui but usually people get fined for that right?

Gordan isn't just a random dude....

He is DEEP in the substance abuse program. Basically a HUGE liability and concern for people....so yeah, I could see after his repeated usage of substances they told him no booze either.

He isn't a victim.

since when is alcohol illegal? I've never heard of a suspension for alcohol

When your deep in the NFL substance abuse program they can set all kinds of stuff for you....

Dude has issues. That is why he was told that.

@ProFootballTalk: Because of his DUI, alcohol is one of the substances for which Josh Gordon was being tested.

What a joke. It's the offseason, what the hell else is the guy going to do for next 7 months. They pretty much set him up to fail. A realistic goal would've been not to get another DUI.

Pretty sure if I had a multi million dollar paying gig to work part of the year....and had been fugging up a lot and was told okay, no more booze......I'd quit drinking.

Plenty to do beside drink.

#3219628 Dave Gettleman to Marty Hurney - You left us a cap mess, but drafted a hell o...

By some weird unofficial board policy, you are required to ignore Hurney's first five years in any performance review, and instead focus on his last four, which coincidentally took place when JR returned from heart surgery and fired his sons.

And the heavily Richardson influenced lockout window....where Jerry wanted statements made

Rather have youth with potential at backup spots/

Old vets should be temp starting bandaids

#3218577 Hurney on Pats: Culture of Cheating

Posted by CRA on 23 January 2015 - 08:38 PM

Which the Patriots were not found to have done.

Actually the entire NE video catalog was destroyed....by the NFL.....with no real documentation or explanation of what was on it.

I'm not saying NE taped and cheated on our game....but the NFL punished them and made sure the extend to what they did was never actually disclosed

Why destroy the evidence instead of confirming to the masses? It is reasonable to assume it was to protect the NFL product....bc no explanation of that really makes sense

#3217338 Best Draft Class in Panthers history. .

Posted by CRA on 22 January 2015 - 05:37 PM

Looking back, this draft class is an A++.

Gonna have to say this class might have the 2001 class beat, in the case of rookie performances.

Otah, Colbert, etc looked like the truth after one season too.....still have to wait on this one

Can we count Everette Brown since he cost us a high second and a first round pick?

count him.....can you name a GM that did better with first rounders in a 11 year stretch?

Hurney had tons of flaws. Did one thing great

#3216172 gettleman on newton contract

Andy Dalton - 6 yr, 96 million

2014 cap hit - 9 mill

2015 cap hit 9 mill

Just an example. Cam's cap hit will go down from when he extends.

Paying him would create cap?

For 2015....if you wanted it to. Could create a decent amount. You can play with cap space easy there in year 1

#3216060 Deflate-Gate: Patriots Being Investigated For Deflated Footballs

Posted by CRA on 21 January 2015 - 05:45 PM

I belive the rules state that they have to be at least a certain psi. There is no rule againt over inflating the ball

There is a window. Can't overinflate either

13.5 is max or they deflate them

#3216047 leinhart - "every qb tampers with the ball, except one"

Posted by CRA on 21 January 2015 - 05:29 PM

By fielding these balls from the Patriots did they not deem it okay? It's their job to inspect the balls before they are in the field of play.

That's the point.

They inspected them pre game and at half.....something occured inbetween. But only to NE balls. Not Indy ones

#3216031 leinhart - "every qb tampers with the ball, except one"

Posted by CRA on 21 January 2015 - 05:10 PM

But it is the same as drastically overinflating so they fail air requirements, which is what Rodgers admitted to.

Actually if you go by what Rodgers said.....he doesn't admit to that. He advised he liked to see what the refs would do. Which could imply they went for standard inspection and played with what the refs deemed okay.

He never said he altered it. He said he liked them overinflated and push the limits.... would want to see if the refs took some out. If the refs deem it okay it is

Rodgers acknowleged the refs ability to inspect.....didn't claim to alter what the refs gave them back to play with (which is what NE is guilty of)
