#3033752 We Are Missing Something On Defense

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on Yesterday, 06:14 PM

We want more nastiness? Let DG and RR do their job, JR. We can act scared all we want about lockeroom headaches, divas, egos, and thugs ... but if you sign the right ones it works. We've had some from time to time, but I want a whole TEAM of brawlers. And you know who else does? Ron Rivera.

RR is a good D mind.

He knows he has been dealt a bad hand. He will talk them up bc that is what a coach does. I don't get people acting like Ron likes these weak dudes in our secondary

So the intensity is missing. That's what happens when you let certain players walk in FA

At least TD is being honest. Now, if we could only ask him who the missing piece is

Not a missing piece. TD played much better last year than this year.

Luke too.

Star, CJ, etc too.

Only two players IMO that look better or at least on par from last are Short and Klein.

Hardy didn't cause this....this is the same D we saw late in the Tampa game. McCown being so bad early on made people think this D was dominant and they completely overlooked what D was on the field late against Tampa

#3033335 Can we ever become a great team with Rivera at the helm

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on Yesterday, 02:20 PM

Rivera has to quit his infatuation with "try hard" bums like Godfrey and Bell...I believe he's a good head coach with bad flaws

Rivera isn't the GM. His option instead of Bell is what? Rivera talks up guys bc he is a players coach. Give a coach lemons and he has to try to make lemonade.

Can any coach be great in today's NFL with a horrible OL and secondary?

There is only one answer to that question IMO

I agree with this.. However, if the players stop buying into a system or into what a coach is saying it shows on the field IMO.

What shows is we have no OL....

What shows is we have no secondary

And people are trying to act like it is a lack of effort or coaching issue. You don't have those 2 things you are often going to get embarrassed. We overachieved last year, expecting to do it with even bigger holes was just silly

I said this yesterday (obviously not in the great way you displayed it) but I agree man. They failed to stand up for one of their players. Not once did they mention the NC court process to the media, not once did they say they were going to continue with the original plan, not once did they explain the situation to them, etc. There is no question that this team has quit on the coaching staff. By quit, I mean not showing intensity, passion, focus, etc. because of course the players aren't just going to quit playing. They want to get their pay checks. What I mean is they are just going through the motions now.

Meanwhile....

Cam is having his best season to date

Olsen is having his best season to date

Luke is having his best statistical season to date

Kelvin is on pace for 1000+ yards and 10 + TDs as a rookie

I don't think anyone quit. I think out front office built a team with NO OL and NO secondary (and a unit dependent on having the most dominant DE play in the NFL in order to work)

I fail to buy that logic people quit. We don't have the talent to survive our holes.

We have the worst OL in the NFL. OL impacts literally everything. See Dallas. OL is why they are good and also why there defense isn't as bad as many thought.

We need to insert these young dudes. Norman too.

But we also need to get away from the 2013 blueprint and realize all it does is get us beat. We need to gamble and blitz. Try to help the secondary out. Yes, blitzing puts more on their shoulders but if we get their it gives them a chance to make plays. The 2013 model just leaves them hanging anyway to get torched

#3024993 Bill Barnwell sees it too.

I really don't understand what's going on with this oline. I swear Trai Turner has regressed since coming here. Could it be the oline coach? How does an NFL caliber athlete get completely blown up like that? And it happens across the board - even seen Kalil get bull rushed into oblivion this year.

Trai Turner hasn't regressed.

Not sure why people thought you could just insert a rookie and he wouldn't get his tail kicked as a rookie often. People for whatever reasons penciled him and Amini in as strengths heading into this season. Amini has yet to be solid and the other was a rookie

Yeh but our QB is CAM FUGGIN NEWTON

He generally only gets to be Cam when we are losing under Shula/ball control O

Wait.. if Fozzy and Reaves are out who backs up Stewart? I'd fuging hate to see Poole back on the active roster.

Ogbannaya. He played the other week

#3024523 What Packers Fans are Saying

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 17 October 2014 - 07:38 AM

Greg Olsen....forever underrated.

I'd like to see the Packers not gameplan for him.

Also, they mentioned our great RBs last season. All it was was a healthy Cam making our rush attack what it was....like the dude we saw last week

#3024276 Instead of a foregone conclusion there needs to be a rethinking.

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 16 October 2014 - 09:33 PM

Then we need to find away to get out of CJ contract.
Hardy is the younger and better player so he deserves CJ's money.

Let the season finish out before you wash your hands of Johnson....

And Hardy's absence has made people forget that he too disappears for stretches.....see last year. Hardy isn't the reasons we don't look like the 2013 D

Pass rush. Only way we'll stop their offense.

Unless they go to there short pass attack....

Only hope is they continue to run at a higher rate than most expect of them. They are a close to 50/50 I believe.
