#2730387 Panthers Sign Avant to 1 Year Deal

Posted by AggieLean. on 07 April 2014 - 05:41 PM

Good signing right here. If we get some young WR's in the draft, a vet like Avant will be key.  Plus, old dude catches everything thrown his way.  Will be a great WR to have out there on 3rd downs.

The ones talking down on this signing, calling him washed up, are the same ones you see praising our moves bringing in a washed up Harper and possible Decoud.
That saints def was great just like ours. They're gonna be tough next year. They're off is already great. After their offseason moves, their already good def will be better

#2723220 PFT says Jackson to Washington a done deal. Let the hate flow.

Would've liked to get him, but I knew we weren't going to get him. Only thing that sucks, is this will help RG3. Other teams continue to build around their young QB's. Hopefully, were able to get a stud in the draft.

Going to go ahead and take back what I said. He hasn't gotten into any trouble, and all the gang talk was just hearsay. I jumped the gun, and shouldn't have judged the dude.  I know theres no shot of getting him, but I would love for him to be a Panther.

I was down for him coming, but with all this gang stuff I don't know. He's going to end up getting in trouble. D Jax will have his entourage down here and we don't need that gang sh*t in NC. Already enough false flaggers in the state as is. I grew up in an urban area in Winston...wasn't no gangs when I was growing up. Now all the youngsters in my old neighborhood are bloods or crips. I usually am all for bringing in players with past baggage, but I'll have to pass this time.

#2719069 Ron Rivera: Panthers may not need number 1 WR in 2014

Posted by AggieLean. on 28 March 2014 - 06:29 AM

Everyone should take note of who is saying what. As someone already pointed out, the same folks claiming that we don't need a #1 WR, passing game isn't important, attempting to have an explosive offensive should be secondary are the exact same people in December/January complaining that Cam did not throw for 300 yards, and the offense is only putting up 10 points.

They will be the first to throw Newton under the bus and question whether he the long term solution at QB.

How do I know this? Go back to last off season. All throughout the the summer when folks were complaining about the lack of talent on offense, that Cam needed more help, they said we had the personnel to have a top 10 offense. Of course, once September hit, "Newton is a bum."

Come September, if Newton is not throwing for 300 yards and putting up 30 points, these same people now talking about having a run first, control the clock offense, will be screaming: how come can't Newton be like Rodgers? And suggesting it is time to trade Newton for picks.

Yep, this is how it will go down exactly. Most these folks preaching patience didn't and don't have patience when it comes to Newton and the offense.

Seen this coming a mile away. If we lose some games cause were not able to muster up more than 20 points, or the offense goes 3 and out and we lose a game late in the 4th qtr...these same folks championing Rivera and Getts offensive philosophy will be the ones who throw blame on the offense quick. All these ppl talking about be patient with Getts are the same ones who had no patience with Cam early in his career. Oh well...we'll see how this turns out. I'm hoping for the best

Real solid signing. I like this move a lot. It's about time we made a move

Classic 12 yo's quote.

"Gettlehugger"? Dear god boy.

It's funny that the people who think "Gettlehugger" is silly, are the same ones who have no problem throwing out the insult "Camhugger". Or they're the same ones who will attack someone who they believe is going the extra yard to defend Cam. Both terms are silly, but calling a spade a spade.

Anyways, I'm not shocked with TDs reaction or Luke's. They've gotta be wondering, just like most of us, what the hell are the panthers doing?

#2705182 Panthers' Dave Gettleman has guts...

Posted by AggieLean. on 18 March 2014 - 04:23 PM

Gettleman is the Huddler who picks a team in the mock offseason and then doesn't sign in for 8 months

this made me laugh right here.

#2705174 Draft day shocker - prediction

Posted by AggieLean. on 18 March 2014 - 04:20 PM

I fully expect DG not to draft a WR till the 3rd. Doesn't mean I'm not going to be extremely pissed off when it happens.

Reading the quote from Jonathon Jones Q&A awhile ago, it really does read like he's against taking WR's high

I'm with you in this feeling.

#2704228 Want Gettleman out?

Posted by AggieLean. on 18 March 2014 - 08:26 AM

Folks tripping about this, yet tell the people who are concerned about our offseason moves they're overreacting? This lil petition is no biggie. People will write a petition about anything lol

#2704179 Want Gettleman out?

Posted by AggieLean. on 18 March 2014 - 07:48 AM

Our fans are the laughing stock of the NFL because we blindly follow a organization that has never had back to back winning seasons. And with a straight face, we defend them even when everyone else out the planet sees it for what it is.

Not because some kid made a petition. Just about every team in the NFL has some petition about wanting somebody fired. Go to other forums, they bitch and complain just as much as the huddle. Remember the falcons wanted their coach fired last year. That's just fans.

They laugh, because we walk around with our chest poked out like we've won something, it took a winning streak to make this team relevant last year and even then we still weren't respected. Why? Because we aren't consistent winners. But this fan base thinks we are the 9ers, we ain't the 9ers and honestly we are closer to the Browns.

They laugh because they see a playoff team with a young, once in a life time QB, and we want him to throw to Jerricho Cotchery. That's why they laugh, they pity us and if you weren't a Panther's fan you would too.

This right here. This is why were the laughingstock of the league. Not this petition or w/e it is Madhatter said. Other teams, especially big market teams, prob deal with this petition crap yearly

#2703787 What baseball team do Panthers fans root for?

LOL @ Atlanta fans

You all should seriously be ashamed of yourselves.

Carry on...

Atlanta is the closest city for a lot of us in NC.  So that's the closest baseball team.  I choose my pro teams, based on proximity.
