No need to apologize and he didn't apologize - he clarified his statement....People make a mountain out of a mole hill and have no reading comprehension.
Panthers LB Jon Beason said he’s sorry about his comments concerning Terrell Owens, in which he objected to the receiver’s possible presence in Carolina.
“I have to apologize for my comments regarding TO,” Beason wrote. “I personally would want him on our team in Carolina. He’s been a great WR for a very long time and will without a doubt be a hall of famer.
No, because a comment like that taken in the wrong context might create a rift between him and DeAngelo and since Beason and DeAngelo are two of the veteran leaders on this team now, you want to avoid those sorts of things.
To draw a comparison, just the other day I thought Beason did an excellent job of navigating the Clausen/Moore question he was asked on ESPN. He praised them both without implying one of them was inferior. He said Moore deserved the starting job because he earned it, not because he was a more complete quarterback than Clausen.
The good news is that both Beason and DeAngelo are such standup guys I doubt this kind of a comment would create a problem between them.
which is exactly why beason should (and did) feel free to say it.
williams isn't some early first round projected rookie who fell half way thru the second round and needs his ego stroked in order to feel better about his situation.
he's a vet in the league. he knows his strengths and weakness. if someone states the obvious, it shouldn't be a big deal.
that would explain why he's all butt hurt because i'm not on the 5.0ypc king's bandwagon.
on a slightly more serious note...
i want to apologize to all of deangelo williams's children whom i may have offended at one time or another over the past 2 seasons.
i can understand the frustration of trying to convince people that your daddy is the bestest ever...but keep in mind, that's your daddy. no matter what he does or doesn't do, you will probably always see him as the best.
i don't care too much for your daddy. not because he's done anything wrong or hasn't accomplished anything...
....it's because my daddy is better than yours.
and there's nothing you can say to convince me otherwise.
