#2012102 Cam Newtons Strengths ?

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 22 November 2012 - 12:51 PM

Quit beating around the bush and just come out with it already.

You don't want Cam Newton as your quarterback, we get it. Why all the theatrics.

not necessarily speaking for people, but it may not be a matter of not wanting him...it may be a matter of seeing he's not as good as some people think.

but on the huddle, saying someone is not as good as some people percieve they are is the same as saying you hate, don't want, degrade that person.

Hardy Plays Hard

Coming into Sunday’s game, Freeman had been pressured on 30% of his drop-backs. Against the Panthers, however, Freeman faced pressure on just over 43% of his drop-backs, in large part due to the outstanding play of Greg Hardy. Lining up in multiple spots along the defensive line, Hardy terrorized Donald Penn and the Tampa Bay offensive line to the tune of 11 combined QB disruptions, including a sack and three QB hits. His best stretch came midway through the fourth quarter, when he pressured Freeman three times in a span of five plays, as he beat Penn twice to the inside and then got into the backfield on a stunt. Only a penalty for encroachment on 3rd-and-short and a missed tackle kept Hardy’s grade of +4.1 from being even higher.

– Coming into the game, no quarterback had thrown for more yards on deep passes than Josh Freeman. But against the Panthers, Freeman was just one of six for 24 yards on such passes.

– Panthers rookie Frank Alexander came away with five QB disruptions while logging his highest snap total of the season.

– After a four game stretch in which he forced 31 missed tackles rushing, Doug Martin has eluded just three tackles on the ground in his past two games.

#2007277 Cam improved today.

Jake Delhomme had a better team around him.

maybe...but the biggest difference between this team and anything jake delhomme played with is delhomme's ability to lead and motivate the guys around him.

not taking anything away from newton's athleticism, but i don't believe this team would be 2-8 with delhomme's leadership (pre meltdown skillset of course).

I liked him throwing the ball away instead of trying to force something that could have been an INT.

this more than anything...he was much more decisive than usual.

he did a lot less standing in the pocket like a deer in headlights waiting for everyone else to make something happen. he made things happen himself.

the scraps that the dog gets.

#2006860 Only 1 out of 9 teams we've faced currently has a losing record

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 18 November 2012 - 07:49 PM

people keep bringing this up, but it wouldn't look like that IF THE PANTHERS WOULD WIN!!!

Bucs 5-5
Saints 5-5
Giants 5-5
Falcons 8-2
Seahawks 5-5
Cowboys 4-6
Bears 6-3
Redskins 4-6
Broncos 6-4
Bucs 5-5

see how that works?

#2003681 What are you hoping to see today besides a W?

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 18 November 2012 - 11:34 AM

He feeds off of the crowd and needs our support.

every athlete feeds off the crowd...at the same time, the crowd feeds off the athlete.

anyone who's ever played sports or participated in anything that includes an audience knows that you create and are responsible for the atmosphere of the audience.

i have yet to see newton be booed like jimmy clausen has.

the crowd is behind him...it's long past time for him to step up.

No second year QB can go in boss mode like that.

that's what the bengals coaching staff is demanding from dalton right now.

#1998562 Who's puts the 'offensive' in 'offensive line'?

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 13 November 2012 - 06:20 PM

arizona's had by far the worst offensive line since the season has started.

they make every other line in the league look like hall of famers and probowlers.

if fox were to somehow come back and replace rivera, most of the same bunch of trash talking fans would be all over him like hungry zombies on a fat man.
