#3357047 Panthers All-Star Team

Posted by KillerKat on Yesterday, 09:25 PM

i know Chuck is not known for being straight forward, but i have to wonder if he is serious about Otah?
the dude was here for only a couple seasons before he left with injury issues. how could i consider him for the All-time RT spot?
also, i wouldnt say im a new fan. haha. ive been following the team now for 12 years. just not as long as my Dad and many of the Huddlers here. lol

well new as far as names and stuff goes.

#3356976 Panthers All-Star Team

I started this a long time ago and update during the offseason. Our history is so short that it makes putting these lists together complicated and so you have to use judgement calls on what criteria to use. I mostly used stats and all-pro selections and ranked them in that order. Giving all-pros more weight.

Current players most likely to make it in the future: Kelvin Benjamin, Trai Turner, Kawaan Short, Star Lotulelei, Josh Norman.

WR2: Muhsin Muhammad - Patrick Jeffers
LT: Blake Brockermeyer - Todd Steussie
LG: Travelle Wharton - Matthew Campbell
C: Ryan Kalil - Jeff Mitchell
RG: Kevin Donnalley - Frank Garcia
RT: Jordan Gross
TE: Wesley Walls - Greg Olsen - Jeremy Shockey
WR1: Steve Smith - Mark Carrier - Ted Ginn Jr.
QB: Cam Newton - Steve Beuerlein - Jake Delhomme
FB: Mike Tolbert - Brad Hoover
HB: DeAngelo Williams - Jonathan Stewart - Stephen Davis

LDE: Julius Peppers - Mike Rucker
LDT: Greg Kragen - Brentson Buckner
RDT: Kris Jenkins - Sean Gilbert
RDE: Greg Hardy - Charles Johnson
SLB: Thomas Davis - Will Witherspoon
MLB: Luke Kuechly - Jon Beason - Sam Mills
WLB: Kevin Greene - Lamar Lathon
LCB: Eric Davis - Doug Evans - Tyrone Poole
RCB: Chris Gamble - Ken Lucas
SS: Mike Minter - Chris Harris
FS: Deon Grant - Pat Terrell

K: John Kasay

#3353854 Cam needs to step up this year

Posted by KillerKat on 03 May 2015 - 10:44 PM

He didn't say he needs to be "perfect", he said he needs to take his game to another level, which is true. If we are actually expecting to win a superbowl, he has got to. And newsflash to you too, no O-line is perfect either, which is why Cam has to get better at pocket awareness, situational football, anticipation, etc. so he can help them out as well.

What pocket?

Btw, It's hard to step your game up when you can't even trust your line to hold their blocks for you. We saw those moments happen many times last year. Even when there wasn't pressure, he was anticipating it.

Step up Cam!

Step up Cam!

Come on!

Step up!

Ugh you suck!

No stock in the "veteran mentor" angle?

This team is too talented to waste a spot on a player/coach. Especially one that can't actually play. This is what your WR coach is for.

#3353021 Who will be our third receiver/man the slot?

Posted by KillerKat on 03 May 2015 - 01:36 PM

yea our WR position in two offseasons went from fire sale to a DC's worst nightmare.

thats alot of height, versatility, and speed. this is going to be one of the best competitions in training camp later this summer. i am actually extremely excited to see our top 3 WR + Olsen on the field.

couple that with 3 other facts: 1) Cam is going to be healthy for the first time EVER, 2) we have legitimate talent on the offensive line now (not great, but adequate to give Cam 3 seconds at least), and 3) jonathan stewart will be a our feature back for the first time ever and we have a good committee behind him in case of injury.

our offense is going to contend next year. our defense will be a nightmare for opposing offenses, and our special teams will be much improved.

Even with just 5 picks, we still manage to make at least 1 of them a throw away pick.

#3350262 The right side of the offensive line....

Posted by KillerKat on 02 May 2015 - 11:59 AM

Our line is almost set. Just need some backup guards and the LT is a question, but more answers this year than the questions of last year. Just getting rid of Bell got rid of that feeling of utter despair on the line.

Shaq Thompson has chosen #54

I'm guessing Funchess will be #81 and could possibly switch to #11 before the season begins when Bersin is cut.
