Doesn't really become official to me until I can type in hornets.com and not be redirected to the Pelicans. Wonder when the website officially changes. Anyone have any word on that?
I have no idea. That was part of the reason for making the thread... as a way consolidate all changes in one area so we know when changes happen.
A poster on another forum said they spoke with their ticket rep today, and they confirmed that in "their department" they were the Charlotte Hornets... and that's how they were speaking with clients. When asked when the online would change, they couldn't provide a timeline.
The Bobcats transformation to Hornets is in full swing and I figured having one thread for all the information would be the best and easiest way for people to stay up-to-date. I'll update the OP frequently as more and more information becomes available.

CHARLOTTE HORNETS NAME OFFICIALLY RETURNS ON MAY 20!
UPDATE: 4/30 : Per Steve Reed on Twitter, the team will officially announce the change in "a couple of weeks.".
@SteveReedAP: For those asking, I'm told the Bobcats will officially transition to Hornets in a couple of weeks. Probably be a presser to announce. 9:12 AM 30 April 2014
Isn't Dewayne wade crippled? I'll take my chances with Henderson vs Wade. I like Henderson defensively vs wade more so than anyone Miami has vs Jefferson or even Kemba walker.
The xfactor will be not having Jeff Taylor who is another defensive wing who could matchup vs wade or LBJ for a change of pace from MKG.
Don't think the 'Cats can pull 4 out of 7 vs Miami... but I like our matchup at the PG and C positions. I'm not scared of wade. I'm more scared of Bosh on the perimeter stretching the floor and LeBron vs anyone really.
Lets wait and see how the rest of the season goes in terms of Detroit's tank. Do they tank because of lack of coaching? Do they trade all of their talent away?
If they trade all their talent away and full blown tank mode, it may be a blessing for us. That pick is only top 1 protected next year, so if they sell the farm they may suck for a year or more thus a high pick next year (barring they don't win the lottery next year).
There is a lot that can happen, but it may boil down to... would the hornets rather have Detroit's pick at 9 or higher this year or a top five pick next?

I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes by starting the first game thread...but I had a few minutes to put it together so I thought I would.
Here's to Jefferson playing without ankle concerns and hopefully a Horncats win!
**NOTE: Most media outlets outside of Charlotte list Zeller as the starter not McRoberts, while the Observer is projecting McRoberts to the starter. Regardless, look for Bismack and whoever doesn't start between McBob and Cody to get plenty of minutes against a physical tandem of Osik and Howard. Also, Jefferson stated earlier in the week he think he will go though the team lists him as questionable.
