I'm going to use 2008 as my example since we went 12-4 and we can probably agree we all saw Moose as a solid number 2 that year.
Delhomme had 414 pass attempts and targeted Moose 108 times. 26% of the pass attempts went to Moose. Smitty had 129 targets for 31% of all pass attempts.
Cam currently has 337 pass attempts and has targeted LaFell 66 times for 20% of Cam's pass attempts. Smith has been targeted 90 times for 27% of pass attempts.
I do understand your point about the different offenses though. However, Shula's plays have Cam making alot of shorter throws. I don't have NFL all 22 so I don't know forsure but it seems LaFell is usually running a deeper route. With the OL not being able to provide Cam with alot of time I think it's affecting LaFell's opportunities.
When LaFell runs shorter routes and crossing routes, I think he typically gets a chance to make a play. Maybe someone can confirm this for me.
I do have the all 22 and while I havent zoned in on lafell I have noticed that a lot of the time cam gets pressured is because all our wrs are running deep routes and have their back to cam lafell needs to be utilized underneath and in space then use his deceptive speed to go deep
That dolphins game reminded me a lot of that arizona game except at half time we adjusted and came out firing unlike arizona where we came out flat and got our tails whipped I think if we play az again we mop the floor with them
His argument at the end for why Newton isn't on Wilson or Lucks level is because he isn't as accurate as they are? Uhhhhhhhh Luck has a career accuracy percentage of 56...56 this year he is 59% compared to Cams 64 and these guys get paid to do what again? Analyze? Great job analyzing, fail.
II saw the "bend but don't break" philosophy in the second half too. After I thought about it however, I thought not having Charles Johnson out there probably was the reason why the coaches were forced to play more coverage. But it worked. They really played it the only way they could play it especially on that final drive. If you play press coverage with two safeties deep against a 4/5 wr set there's going to be some deep space available for Brady to find. They did a good job forcing Brady to manage that last drive different from what he wanted as a result despite 11 plays....their last play is on the 18. It's not guaranteed but that's a pretty high closing percentage in that situation.
you're right they only had a 23% chance to win it from the 18.
I've lived in Indiana my entire life, but I have been to South Carolina about a total of 2-3 times. Every time I came to SC, that I can remember, I had always loved it down there the weather, the ocean, the people seemed decent, and I don't know there's just something about that place that makes me want to live there some day. I've never been to Charlotte though, hoping that may change soon. Anyways, when I was about 13 I started to get into football. I didn't have a favorite team yet and the very first full game I ever sat through was the Panthers vs Patriots SB. That was one of the greatest games of all time, and one that I will never forget. Even though they lost that day, they gained a die hard fan from the North. If I were to die today one thing that every one would know about me, from where I'm from, was that I was the biggest Carolina Panthers fan that they were ever going to know.
