#3115347 The Official Gettleman Poll

Posted by PantherAZ on 02 December 2014 - 11:54 AM

Gettleman has to be fired. And here's why.

He single handedly took a potential super bowl caliber team and dismantled it. I realize cap space was an issue but he made ZERO effort to even try to talk players down.

He cut 89. Yeah I'm still salty about it. This isn't just a Steve Smith fan complaining. It made ZERO sense to cut Smith. They lost money by cutting him, the man can still play as Baltimore is so clearly enjoying. How can you take a QB's #1 target and replace him with a rookie who drops as many balls as he catches. Don't get me wrong, I love Kelvin. He's going to be a star. Keywords "going to be". Steve Smith's leadership alone is enough reason to keep him here.

Are you seriously telling me Hixon, Ginn, and Lafell were too expensive to keep? I call BS on that one.

The O-line and secondary have been nothing short of a joke this season. I realize Jordan Gross retiring hurt a lot, but a stop sign could block better than Byron Bell.

If Cam isn't a Panther after 2015, Gettleman is the reason why. Cam literally has been given no help whatsoever. I realize that his accuracy needs work but when you have to get rid of the ball as soon as it snapped or you're going to hit the turf, it's hard to throw darts to sorry WR (minus KB and Greg). If I were Cam, I would want out. Our GM has made to be Cam has to win every game on his own with the "talent" that's around him and that's not fair at all. Peyton Manning could not succeed with this team.

All of this is going to ultimately cost Ron his job which is sad. You don't go from coach of the year to this without something going wrong in the GM office.

Gettleman has to go. And it needs to be ASAP.

You're wrong on almost every point here.

No. When he took the job he told us his plan and now he's executing exactly what he said he would do. The problem is fans have short memories and the team over performed last year. I'm unsure about firing Ron. I honestly have no idea if that's the right move, but I KNOW Shula has to go. If Ron won't fire Shula, then he needs to go too.

I know everyone wants Shula gone yesterday, but honestly, who replaces him? The entire offensive coaching staff needs to go with him except Proehl. I have no idea if he's ready to be an OC, but if we made him interim OC and he didn't do a knock out job, could we realistically keep him as WRs coach next year?

#2845585 Thomas Davis: "We will own 2014"

Posted by PantherAZ on 10 July 2014 - 08:41 PM

I remember when TD was hurt a few years ago and Seattle was trying to unload Curry. I tweeted something about Carolina needing to get him. TD replied to me (I didn't even mention him in the tweet) asking why we need him. I am a dumb mother fugger.

#2843177 D.Williams...props to a good guy...on and off the field

The only photo I see is poor quality but it appears to be an older guy in the uniform - of retired age. Maybe he dressed up for the 4th to go to a reunion or something - old vets rarely remember all the rules of where what medal goes - it was a bitch remembering when on active duty for me and I had few to display.

This. I was in the Marines for 9 years and have been out for 8. This got me thinking and I honestly had to look at my DD-214 to ensure I remembered all the metals I rated and would look to make sure I had the correct order. That being said, I would know to look. The second metal does appear to be a silver star. I can't tell what the one in front of it is, but there are none that should be in front of it that look anything like that. The cover indoors thing is weird, but I don't doubt he'd put it on if he was asked for a photo. If he is a Marine he probably has sea bags older than me so he might have lost a little bit upstairs. If he's not, it sucks that people do stuff like that, but shouldn't be the focus of the story.

#2787530 Can't edit titles anymore, Zod?

no wonder she was yelling, hitting me, and trying to throw her heels at me...

You make a good point. I didn't get an email, I'll go beat my wife.

Also can't request a new password. I can only get on from my iPad because Chrome remembers my password, but I can't. Downloaded the app on my phone and when you try to request a new password it says it's sending you an email that never comes.

#2728666 McNabb weighs in on our lack of a threat at WR (via D. Newton)

McNabb didn't even know NFL games could end in a tie.

Good points, OP, but do you know where I can find cheap and high quality jerseys?

#2720521 QB Gilbert coming to town

I hate to say it but I think this is a serious possibility in 2 years.

No it's not. Step back from the ledge.

#2712418 D-Jax Big Possibility of Being Cut

Posted by PantherAZ on 22 March 2014 - 02:55 PM

No way I see him here if he gets cut.

Someone else will offer a ridiculous contract.

Right. The only way this is possible is if he has a serious man crush on Cam and decides the opportunity to shower next to him is more important than money. Possible, but unlikely.

Someone tell him he's part of the problem

#2698352 At 12-4 were we not supposed to make a push and go "All In"?

Posted by PantherAZ on 15 March 2014 - 03:27 PM

WTF are we in complete rebuilding mode? This team was two wins away from being in the Superbowl..... 2nd best team in the NFC, elite young defense.... Instead we toss away a lot of the pieces it took to get this good and go into bargain basement shopping mode.

Please explain to me which of those pieces we "tossed away." I'm waiting.

#2696059 Would you be happy with trading our 1st round pick for Josh Gordon?

Posted by PantherAZ on 14 March 2014 - 07:31 PM

Absolutely. But they won't

Let me go try it on Madden. I'll get back to you on that.
