I remember when TD was hurt a few years ago and Seattle was trying to unload Curry. I tweeted something about Carolina needing to get him. TD replied to me (I didn't even mention him in the tweet) asking why we need him. I am a dumb mother fugger.
The only photo I see is poor quality but it appears to be an older guy in the uniform - of retired age. Maybe he dressed up for the 4th to go to a reunion or something - old vets rarely remember all the rules of where what medal goes - it was a bitch remembering when on active duty for me and I had few to display.
This. I was in the Marines for 9 years and have been out for 8. This got me thinking and I honestly had to look at my DD-214 to ensure I remembered all the metals I rated and would look to make sure I had the correct order. That being said, I would know to look. The second metal does appear to be a silver star. I can't tell what the one in front of it is, but there are none that should be in front of it that look anything like that. The cover indoors thing is weird, but I don't doubt he'd put it on if he was asked for a photo. If he is a Marine he probably has sea bags older than me so he might have lost a little bit upstairs. If he's not, it sucks that people do stuff like that, but shouldn't be the focus of the story.
Also can't request a new password. I can only get on from my iPad because Chrome remembers my password, but I can't. Downloaded the app on my phone and when you try to request a new password it says it's sending you an email that never comes.
WTF are we in complete rebuilding mode? This team was two wins away from being in the Superbowl..... 2nd best team in the NFC, elite young defense.... Instead we toss away a lot of the pieces it took to get this good and go into bargain basement shopping mode.
Please explain to me which of those pieces we "tossed away." I'm waiting.
There is no defending it and I am a nuthugger (well a watch the process unfold and trust the experts guy), but this makes no since. Last week I didn't even want Nicks (unless it was a very cheap deal, I would have considered 1yr, 3.5M cheap and low risk). I don't advocate to sign all the free agents, but our WR's have a combined 4 career receptions.... Fugging 4... and we release our best one!!! Gettleman needs to speak out. At least say we have a plan.
IF we were losing players we wanted because of Hardy, I would say no. Nothing against Kracken, but our DL is serviceable without him. However, the two have nothing to do with one another. The Smitty situation is not about money, we were not going to pay Mitchell big bucks regardless, we didn't want LaFell. LaFell tweeted a few weeks ago something that basically said, "you can keep that, no thanks." This isn't confirmed, but I believe this was in regard to his discussions with the Panthers about what a contract offer would look like. Gross was going to retire anyway. The only free agent we've lost that I believe we would have liked to keep that may be related to Hardy's high number is Ginn. That sucks, but isn't worth freaking out over.
Our biggest needs are WR, OT, and secondary right now. There hadn't been a run on WR's yet (and the rumors are we're talking to Nicks like you all wanted). Someone like Nicks, Rice, and a draft pick will be affordable and probably better than what we had last year. No Smitty, but from #2 down we're better off. OL is a concern, no doubt, but would have been regardless. I see a couple rookies and one or two cheap vets. The secondary will probably consist of a rookie and one year contracts again, but our front seven has shown they can mask deficiencies there.
The point is... We're okay. We may not win the NFCS this year, but we'll compete and Hardy has nothing to do with any of it.
