#2990899 We don't even try to run behind the tackles.

Can I get this in the form of a pie chart? We prefer pie charts around this joint for some reason.

Pie chart breakdown for Mike Shula on game day:

Gettleman offended him, now he's paying for it.

I hope Gettleman's learning a lesson this year.  I get the impression that he may have thought he was a lot smarter than he actually is and that this gig would be much easier than it's turned out to be.  Replacing your entire secondary and WR corps while also replacing a stalwart LT with bargain bin cast-offs isn't exactly easy.

Do we really need any additional reasons to say "fug California"?

I would call Benji the lone bright spot.  I expect what we're getting out of Olsen.  I didn't expect KB to be this good this soon.  He's had some drops, but he makes up for those by making some ridiculous catches that he probably shouldn't make so it all balances out.

Horton
Harper
Cole

Please bench Harper at the very least....Harper should have never been a starter to begin with

I was floored when Gettleman gave Harper decent money. He should've been a vet min tryout guy.

I'm not certain our secondary is any worse than last year's. I think last year's group would be getting torched too if they were playing behind this year's pass rush.

Really makes me wonder just why Dave and Ron were so high on Bell playing left tackle...

It honestly makes me question Gettleman as a GM.  It wasn't a smokescreen that he was laying.  He truly believed that Bell/Chandler were the answer.  We didn't so much as kick the tires of any OTs.

#2985853 How many of you felt this way today?

Nope. Always been a Smitty fan and I'll love the day he rightfully retires a Panther, but I'll never root for any individual player over the Panthers.

Sad that some folks are happy he won and the Panthers lost today.

Has anyone actually said this or y'all just mad? I think y'all mad. It's just misdirected anger. We didn't lose because Smitty got released and we didn't lose because Smitty threw some barbs our way. We lost because we got thoroughly outplayed and out coached but some of y'all would rather be mad at a player who is no longer here rather than realize our issues aren't that player's problem. If my employer fired me and I kicked their ass while killing it at my next workplace I'd be talking WAY more poo than Smitty has. Y'all seem mad Smitty is talking. It's like y'all didn't watch him for 13 years. I'm shocked he didn't do a lot more talking leading up to the game, during the game, and afterward. If he talks a bunch of poo this week, hell he earned the right to do it. I was always told if I didn't want to here my opponents gloat I should make sure to not give them anything to gloat about. We didn't hold up our end of that bargain. Pure and simple. Be mad at the people who didn't do their jobs well for the Panthers rather than at a guy who did his job well for the Ravens.

Beyond sum of all fears so far. OL is terrible just as feared. Cam every bit as banged up and limited as feared. Secondary is terrible just as feared. Hardy being essentially suspended indefinitely, CJ being entirely ineffective, and the DL getting completely owned was completely unexpected.

Kelvin Benjamin has been about the only bright spot that is exceeding early expectations.

If people can't see that Cam is playing very banged up right now, they're either stupid or blind. There's really no third option. If we were running Cam like we have in the previous 3 seasons, he'd probably already be on IR.

#2985698 The Big Picture

Posted by LinvilleGorge on 28 September 2014 - 05:54 PM

We just pushed more money down the road on CJ's contract. We can't cut him. For all the flack Hurney gets for the DeAngelo and Stew contracts (well deserved flack I might add), CJ's contract is about to be a bigger anchor around our neck if he doesn't step it up. Honestly, if this is the best he's got he shouldnt be on the field right now. He's been terrible.

Not by me. And not by a goodly percentage of others Panther fans. Admittedly many will, but many more will not. You can't trash your team like he did and expect a 'prodigal son' return. He ain't family. He's an immature braggart who complained and criticized his teammates for years while taking in a salary that would make most anyone else on this planet thank God. Instead, he acts like a fugtard and then talks about Sunday School the next day. What a charlatan...

He got thrown out like last week's garbage by a new GM. I'd be mad too. To be fair, he's had a lot of good things to say about the Panthers as an organization.

Don't be mad at Smitty because he pulled himself up by the bootstraps and excelling elsewhere at 35 years old. He's the best player we've ever had.

It's weird how so many Panthers fans are so mad at Steve Smith. There will be nearly universal adoration for Smitty when he retires here. Some of y'all just mad.

Holy poo, can't people understand that previous poster was using "DC" to refer to "defensive coordinator", not Washington DC? Good grief, people.

We shall see. We started out 1-3 last year. 2-2 > 1-4. With that said, we weren't getting completely dominated last year like we have been the past two weeks.
