#2515302 Top 5 QBs in cold weather games

Posted by Marguide on 26 November 2013 - 08:12 PM

Want to know where ESPN gets this stuff? They just make it up. It's really as simple as that.

Whether it's which QB is more intelligent, or more clutch, or better when it's between 33 and 38 degrees with a rainbow in the sky, it all has the same validity.

Look at the good reference sites with situational stats (like Pro Football Reference) and ignore the entertainers at ESPN.

#2514643 ESPN article on QB success where drafted

Well, he didn't call Cam a bust, so you're wrong on that part. But lol at Luck.

I swear, he could get voted into the hall today based on absolutely nothing. Why writers stick to that story line is totally beyond me. He's a decent QB so far. No more, no less.

#2513076 Thomas Davis had a dislocated finger that popped through the skin..per Rivera...

I would have passed out like a little b!tch just looking at it.

That is one tough mf'er.

Any update on the injured guys?

Had a lousy stream, but from what I could tell, it was a really ugly game. Glad we got out with a clutch win.

What the hell has happened to our running game?

There's just one problem with the argument that no one but Shula wanted to work for a lame duck coach. Hue Jackson, for one, said he would have gladly accepted the job but it wasn't offered.

So no, that is not an excuse for Rivera. He could have had Jackson but chose Shula instead. He has to live with that decision.

Great OP, Zod.

Really, really like the format of these threads. It's like a picture book for semi-adults, except without the gratuitous porn added in.

Seriously though, seeing the pics to go along with the narrative helps to get a sense of what it's like to be there. Thanks very much.

#2231983 Jon Beason Interview on 5/10. Worth a Listen! (Summary Included)

Posted by Marguide on 14 May 2013 - 10:09 PM

This will test his resolve to make his career about championships, instead of more individual accolades. Seems to me players have a bit of an ego about the size of their, ahem, contracts in the locker room. Let's see if he buys into what he's selling to the media.

Just to add to the thought above, the one thing Jon didn't discuss was his contract. And unfortunately, that is the one big thing that could get in the way of him continuing his career here.

I flat out would not pay Beason according to the terms of his existing contract. He's a great guy and a huge locker room presence but this is a business and the team has to do what's in it's best interests.

So I am going to hold back some of my Beason accolades until I hear he is willing to show some flexibility with his contract.
