#3303125 Panthers claim OT Jonathan Martin

Posted by Bogart on 27 March 2015 - 10:03 PM

To Gettleman, this is like finding a slightly used pair of coaching shorts at a consignment sale. If he pulls them up past his nips and they show too much moose knuckle, the hell with it. He's only out a few dollars.

This guy, this guy right here, he gets it.

#3282314 whoa..Newton says we have a much lower cap than Huddlers thought

Oh yeah? Well you're an idiosyncrasy too! So there

I've been called worse. So there.

Can someone explain this meme to me? I usually hit up this board at least once every day and I see this all the time, but I guess I missed its origin. I've gathered that it's obviously a reference to Gettleman in some way, but I have no idea why.

It's an idiosyncrasy of Gettlemens that came out of one of his press conferences in which he uttered the words bup bup bup in the middle of a sentence. I can't remember exactly what he was talking about but it caught on with some of us.

And the screams from the whiner nation fell silent...for about 10 seconds.

#3282168 The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract

Posted by Bogart on 13 March 2015 - 11:06 AM

Overnight? he's going into his 3rd season

Lets say Cam does leave, why the hell should Gettleman keep his job? And if you were Cam is there a reason to stay? I mean really what indications has a team given you they want to build around you.

Don't give me the cap excuse, if really wanted to win the upcoming season he can backload a contract to Crabtree or Johnson if they don't work out we cut them next season without effecting the cap the same way the niners did.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you rode the short bus. Ignore my attempts to enlighten you on reality. Good luck with that.

#3282120 The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract

i am dead serious and not trying to be a smart ass here:

has a big time franchise quarterback ever signed with another team other than the one that drafted him and mentioned "they didn't give me enough weapons" as the reason?

I certainly cannot think of a single instance for that happening.

#3281366 Do Gettleman's comments on Oher...

Posted by Bogart on 12 March 2015 - 08:57 PM

I think it could go either way. I focus on the fact he used the word "can" as in its up to Oher to hold the spot if he wants it bad enough but he will always upgrade a position an opportunity presents itself. I'm sure he's combing through other teams rosters looking for possible cuts that could provide depth and competition at least at our positions of need should the draft not fall in our favor at those positions. The WR positions will have to be complimented from the draft as the money is not there yet to add value to the core as he sees it. I can understand his approach as he really doesn't have much choice. This team still is lacking in depth and overall talent that can't be filled in one offseason. But with some luck we can field a competitive team. We all want to see this team succeed but I realize that it's going to take a little long to get where we all want this team to be. I for one think the team has a guy in charge that can build a competitive team. I also know that there is a limit to what he can do to upgrade every position that is weak on this team under the current circumstances.

#3280768 Why Gettleman is a GM... and you aren't.

Posted by Bogart on 12 March 2015 - 06:09 PM

That's all he does. He would have been sipping kool aid with Jim Jones. Incapable of his own thoughts and opinions so he just blindly supports whatever the organization does.

If you guys hate the team and it's decisions so much then why in the hell do you still follow this team? Seriously? All I see is you two constantly bitching and moaning about things you know absolutely nothing about. If you were such a great talent evaluator why are you not employed in the profession? I think I speak for 98 percent of this board when I say give it a rest, we get it, you're a genius and the FO is bumbling idiots.

But with no picks exchanged, isn't Foles better trade bait then Bradford?

Yeah this is definitely a head scratcher. He must be planning on using some powerful Jedi mind tricks to move up...or he's just out of his damn mind. Could go either way.

That's a ridiculous contract even for a guy like Suh. No DT is worth that much money.
