#2382292 best analysis of rivera's history of close losses

Posted by BIGH2001 on 16 September 2013 - 11:23 AM

Failure to adapt to personnel has shown itself in more than one way with Rivera. We lost at least three games last year (week 1 vs. Tampa, Seattle and Dallas) due to the inability to stop using the read option so damn much and actually come out with a viable attack.

We've lost games because of Olindo Mare, turnovers (Deangelo), blowing large leads (Tampa at home last year, Chicago in 2012, Atlanta in 2011) and we've also lost to downright shitty opponents (KC last year, Arizona in 2011).

So basically whether it's a failure to adapt, failure to come up with a game plan to beat overmatched opponents, failure to make adjustments to hold on to large leads, etc etc etc etc, it all comes back to one thing: Ron Rivera is a failure as a head coach.

The Jets "came close" to beating NE too. If it were about coming close we would be looking for a Super Bowl three peat this year.

I think sticking with Rivera we have guaranteed ourselves at least one and probably 2 more rebuilding years.

#2380232 McDermott is our only viable interim head coach candidate.

Might as well do it now. This season is shot anyway. I want to punch Rivera in the face.

But hey we did win our first one in '01 too. That turned out great.

2003 and 2008 are the only ones worth remembering.

#2363278 Calm down...the rest of the NFCS is looking terrible in week 1

Only good thing today is that two other divisional teams are also 0-1.

No redskins or cowboys fans in nc? I'm calling bs.

Again another 6-10 or 7-9 season is something you don't know. Chip Kelly could be spurrier 2.0.
McCoy is unproven and didn't set the world on fire when he was here. He's another assistant like Rivera. How is that a guaranteed upgrade?

Chip Kelly's offensive skills. And as of McCoy I'd rather give him a shot then know I'm getting a 6-10 or 7-9 season.

No one is considering the fact that maybe Rivera is getting over the learning curve and
becoming a good NFL head coach. I was one of the detractors too but the team really showed me something at the end of the season. I know it's more fun to bitch about the awful start and throw out stupid and unproven platitudes like "this franchise is content with being mediocre" but think people are overlooking that we have something here with the momentum and it looks like everyone is starting to turn a corner.

#2071673 THIS TEAM'S GOING TO BE GREAT! ...but wait, no it isn't. But WE...

Posted by BIGH2001 on 01 January 2013 - 10:40 AM

Except you will use the correct version of "your."

I am just gonna start telling people early in the season, "you're team will probably beat us, but if we are eliminated from playoff contention were gonna whoop your @$$"

Yeah a guy who made hundreds of millions as a businessman doesnt have the "sac" to make a decision about his own franchise. Get a life you piece of shyt.

Competent clock management would have given new Orleans about 15 seconds. Instead they got almost a minute. Oh and they get the ball first to start the 2nd.

This ones over and hopefully so is Rivera in Carolina.

#2066376 Your 2012 bold, yet reasonable predictions.

Posted by BIGH2001 on 30 December 2012 - 09:25 AM

A play or two here and there and we'd all look like Nostradamus. We should have been 9-7 or 10-6 like most people thought. Unfortunately Rivera and nakamura happened.

yikes. We were so optimistic dammit!

Well at least I predicted the log jam for the last wildcard

Otherwise 1 out of 7 on mine haha

I'm guess that Peter King, cowherd, Ed werder, Rick Reilly and all the other assholes will not be reporting this story.
