#2644151 Rivera favors expanded playoffs

Posted by SnowPanther on 05 February 2014 - 11:15 PM

I can see that coaches and players would want an expanded playoff system. More chances to get to the playoffs where anything can happen.

And more chances to save your ass with mediocre 8-8 season's

You're going to win more than you lose with Foxy, problem is that you're never going to win it all.

#2640966 Conference-less Superbowl

Posted by SnowPanther on 03 February 2014 - 11:44 AM

How does one not "show up" to the Super Bowl? I mean, it is the Super Bowl. Do not buy that. They just were not used to playing the top NFC defenses and would have lost to the top 3 or 4 NFC teams.

I mean, look at the division they played in, a ton of pushovers. The Raiders are awful. The Chiefs stomped a bunch of terrible teams. The full strength Chargers almost lost a play-in game to the Chiefs backups, that same Chargers team went into Cincinnati and stomped the AFC North division champions. The AFC East champions stomped the AFC South Champions that almost got stomped by the bad team stompers in Kansas City. And then Denver absolutely beat the hell out of the AFC South Champion stompers in New England. Where as......

The 12-4 49ers barely beat an 8-7-1 Green Bay in an all-out war. New Orleans went into Philly and barely beat 10-6 Philly in a war. 12-4 San Franciscio came into our house and barely beat us in an all-out war. New Orleans then went into Seattle and that game's outcome was indicative by the scoreline. Then finally Seattle welcomed San Francisco into their house and barely pulled out the victory in a bloodbath.

The differences in the two conferences is shocking.

Would he accept the minimum?  :cam:

#2640889 Odds out on Panthers making playoffs next year

Posted by SnowPanther on 03 February 2014 - 11:04 AM

We'll see after free agency and the draft where we stand. At this point, we're going to lose a lot of starters from last season. I will reserve judgement until then!

#2618004 Speculation on Hardy's Future (NFL.com)

Posted by SnowPanther on 15 January 2014 - 07:32 PM

I dont remember teams letting go a young prodigy like that at 25.

You think Dallas lets Dez Bryant go?

You think the texans let JJ Watt go?

just tag em. we need this D we have now or better if we want to get to the ship.

We just signed Charles Johnson to a monster deal last offseason. Godfrey is on a big deal. Davis is on a big deal. Khalil and Olson are on big deals. We have Cam Newton coming up as a free agent as well, along with over 25 UFAs heading into this off-season with limited cap space.

You give Greg Hardy the 10+ million he wants, how in the world are you signing draft picks plus 20 other players that are needed to fill out this roster and except to be any good at all when there are holes in our secondary, holes in our offensive line and holes in our receiving core? The secondary will only get worse, and the offensive line will only get worse. You thought the receivers this year were bad? Good luck fielding a group of Undrafted rookie free agents because that's all we'll be able to afford. And then factor in that Atlanta can't get any worse than this year. And Tampa can't get any worse. You expect improvement or similar results from 2013 in 2014 for the Panthers?

This ain't Madden.

#2617580 Replace Cam with any other playoff QB - Do we win 12 games?

Posted by SnowPanther on 15 January 2014 - 03:17 PM

Peyton Manning played behind some horrendous offensive lines in Indy with no run game to speak of and won 12 games consistently.........

Can't wait for these guys to return and 30,000 empty seats in a few years when Brees is done.

#2616198 DG: We are still cap challenged....RR: Coaches staying

Posted by SnowPanther on 14 January 2014 - 08:23 PM

Yep those rb contracts have really handcuffed us. I could see having one big contract there. But 2? Nothing personal, stew and deangelo are great guys but we now have glaring holes elsewhere that we can't easily fix. Sent from my SPH-D710 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Don't forget the eight million we're paying to Beason next year to play for someone else as well, that we cannot do anything about.

Dave has his work cut out for him, but as a guy who's been around multiple Superbowl winning teams and organizations, I have confidence he has what it takes to make things work, make the tough decisions, and keep our trajectory moving forward come 2014 and beyond.

#2614280 Panthers have a decision to make on Rivera

Posted by SnowPanther on 13 January 2014 - 10:33 PM

In three seasons Rivera got us to the playoffs and built what's currently the best defense in the league.

It's a pretty easy decision.

This team will only get better and so will he.

Agreed 100%. Young team. Head coach with only three years of experience. It's only going to get better, especially since the team has really rallied around him. That plays a major role as well.

Would it be too early to eliminate them from the 2014, 2015, & 2016 playoffs?

 Fixed it for you!

#2613904 Kaepernick is a disrespectful thug

Posted by SnowPanther on 13 January 2014 - 08:15 PM

this is what pisses me off about this site, to many people on here refer to certain types of individuals as criminals and thugs based off their appearance.

 Boo-hoo, go somewhere else then.

#2613878 Phil Simms: "If you think Cam played bad you can suck it."

Posted by SnowPanther on 13 January 2014 - 08:01 PM

Cam played great. Was 8-10 at one point with one of the incompletions being a fluke interception.

I thought his first half was a thing of beauty. He sure as hell outplayed Kaepernick as far as I'm concerned.

#2613849 Something Cam Said...

Posted by SnowPanther on 13 January 2014 - 07:44 PM

I'm sorry I was under the assumption that we all are panther fans here and we watched our qbs press conferences. Go to panthers.com or download the app. My god people

Some of us have more important things to do than watch over an hour of press conferences every single week. Watching press conferences doesn't make you a "fan."

Besides, it's common courtesy to at least link quotes or something of the sort. ESPECIALLY in a case like this, where the comments could potentially be inflammatory due to being taken out of context, among other things.
