#2719743 Rivera says Cam wasn't consulted in WR moves

Posted by ThunderKatt on 28 March 2014 - 01:37 PM

It's like the old saying goes, "it's not what you do but how you do it".  Everyone thinks because people have opinions on Smitty dismissal is the problem, that isn't it.  It's the way it was handled.  Had Gettleman went into the offseason saying that it was time for a change and let it be known to Smitty himself then it would different.

I guess if he had handled it differenlty, the situation wouldn't been good for t.v.  Me personally I don't care who the receivers are as long as the product on the field is good.  I just think a player that lead the franchise deserves better.  I think a company man should be treated as such, but I guess I am just the old school type of guy.

People act like we dropped an AJ Green or Julio Jones type receiver. Someone that got drafted the same year as Cam, that he has great chemistry with and puts up 1400 yards every year. We all love Smitty, but let's all be honest with ourselves that at this stage of his career Smitty was just another guy. LaFell was meh at best and Ginn was a first round bust that did well for us in a few highlights, but also dropped multiple sure touchdown bombs as well.

They are going to sign Cam to a massive contract, and when they do they'll have the cap flexibility to also sign some weapons for him long term for a sustained success.

How this concept continues to elude so many is truly baffling.

You are saying that as if this is the only year the team will play.  Once the cap gets settled, if the word gets out you will get treated like poo in Carolina, then it wouldn't be the choice place to come play for free agents.

the players are worried about money.  gettlemen will pay who he wants to play here.  you people's need to understand that we have no money this year.

You know your G.M. isn't good with the media when Ron Rivera is tasked with being public relations.  http://espn.go.com/b...taying-on-point

I think he was signed as insurance and definitely he will be key on the scout team, when facing Seattle, San Francisco and now Johnny Football.

and he did kickoffs?  he can't be a bad guy to have around on the scout team.  looks like he can do a little bit of everything.

I just about took a poo in my pants laughing when I saw this one.

.

I think gay dudes are making this an issue so they can just keep their gravy train going.  They just want to keep seeing naked dudes in locker rooms and are fighting hard to preserve it.  Lol.

So you twist up words for a joke, ok the bible might change what you can eat but the Bible never changed it's moral stance.  If it had then it would reference the change just like it did about what people can consume.  Good try though.

In the OT it plainly states not to eat crustacians of the sea. You know, crab, shrimp etc...

In the NT Jesus says "It matters not goes into your mouth but what comes out of it."

Sounds like a change to me.

By the way, if you're of the opinion things didn't change in the NT I hope you eat a kosher diet or your going to hell (by your logic)

No hamburgers, no shrimp, no steak, no iodized salt etc...

Sucks for you.

Some Churches have their own agenda, like the Bible says, "many may come but few are chosen".  I never knew what that statement meant until now.

Any religious you read, they say  marriage is a union between man and woman.  So if gays want to have a union, then create one just name it something else.  Heterosexuals are that and homosexuals are that so why do they want the same union when the union they are seeking isn't the same.  Change the name to merriage for a root word merry which is happy and happy is gay.  there you have it, problem solved.

Followers of Islam can get married. Hindis can get married. Atheists can get married. Agnostics can get married.

Stop trying pretend that the word "marriage" in the context gay unions is an affront to your religion. If that were true there would be debate about any non Christian getting married. Which of course would be horrible.

Consenting adults should be able to marry. Period. There is no logical argument that can refute that.

Deuteronomy 22:5 ESV / 81 helpful votes

“A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

I've read the bible a couple times and never heard Jesus speak on homosexuality. Do you have a link to a scripture where Jesus discusses homosexuality directly?

Agreed.

Dude you might, but I will never. I'm not gay and never will be with a man in my life. Enjoy it. I love women and women only. Have a good life.

when you say people and bigots, whom are you referring too.  The groups that disagree with the people that disagree with homo?  Groups that disagree with a segment that doesn't agree with homo's then those groups are bigots.  So when you say bigots are you referring to yourself.

Soooo... If people weren't so mean to bigots maybe the bigots would be more willing to compromise on their bigotry?

Why is everyone so upset with me, D-will said he can careless about a man's sexual preference?  He can say it but I can't.  What a double standard there.  No one wants to hear about it.

#2647925 Better player: Charles Johnson or Greg Hardy?

Posted by ThunderKatt on 09 February 2014 - 06:19 PM

Well looking at the numbers which are raw:

Charles Johnson had a sack in every game we played against Seattle, S.F. and got injured in the N.E. game.  Getting tackles against those 2 teams are just as important, plus i don't think he was healthy after that N.E. game.  He also had sacks in all but 3 games that he completed.  He didn't get a sack in the Buffalo game and that was the 2nd game of the season, but before that injury he was getting a sack in every game which was a  6 game streak.  He didn't have many tackles this year but he only played 13 regular season games and ended with 11 sacks and 31 tackles.

Hardy on the other hand, had his best games when Johnson was active, he had 1.07 sacks per game when Charles was in the game and 3.7 tackles per game, but when Johnson was out hardy at 0.5 sacks per game and 2.6 tackles.  That's a huge drop off.  Hardy had 8 games with no sacks and the largest streak was 2 games with a sack which mirrors his season start with 2 games and no sacks.  His sacks look like this first 2 games 0 sacks; third game 3 sacks, 4th and 5th games 0 sacks; 6th and 7th games 1 sack each; 8th and 9th games no sacks; 10th game 1 sack; 11th game 0 sacks; 12th game 1 sack; 13th game 0 sacks; 14th game 1 sack; 15th game 3 sacks and 16th game 4 sacks.  The teams that would have proven his elite worth would have been making some noise against Seattle, Buffalo (who were hot at the beginning of the season), Arizona, and S.F.

Plus hardy had 11.5 sacks in the 1st half vs C.J. 4 which all came after the 2 minute warning, 2.5 vs. CJ's 7 in the 2nd half with both 2.5 in the final 2 minutes.  The areas where you want to see sacks are at your own 20 because that is when it's time to make a stand and he only had 2 sacks and at the opponents 20 you want to get sacks to force a safety or make the situation uncomfortable and he only had 1 sack there.

So to me Charles is the player that the line feeds from and is the most disruptive player on the line but in the games Hardy shows up, he sets the tone early and closings the game at the end.  However Johnson consistently makes plays throughout the season and from the 1st 2 minute warning throughout the whole 2nd half.  Hardy normally gets missing in the middle of the game when it's a battle for field position.

Just what I have noticed.
