U can catch it again at 10

First part of his spot all they asked him about was Chip Kelly

Then later on Deangelo

Said no added pressure to put up more stats. Says he goes to work with the mind set of being a starter

Produce or cut

Talked about the roster Says needs to stack o line to continue success

Need to keep Cam focused downfield. said he can't imagine what what cam felt like knowing he was going to get hit all the time

Benjamin had the same X factor as Cam when he came into the league

Then said on the free agent ruin ing backs. Was diplomatic on who he would want on his team but gave in to Justin Forsett as they are friends

#3266651 Michael Oher on his toe injury

Posted by raleigh-panther on 06 March 2015 - 06:15 PM

My bet is he is the LT this year and they pick up Cedric O in the 3rd rd if he is still there and they get themselves either the best receiver or best d player available and stay firm with Remmers on the right. That knee injury causes the Texas A&M guy to drop

#3249322 Cam Newton should be paid more than Luck or Wilson

Posted by raleigh-panther on 22 February 2015 - 09:24 AM

Russel Wilson throws 4 interceptions and Seattle still wins the game

Newton throws one and he is the most inaccurate QB in the history of the NFL according to some on this board

#3230591 Star Witness may no-show in Hardy case

Love the  negative comments about the woman.

No matter what she is, or what she isn't, it says a lot about the choices Hardy makes.

Been down this road before.  There is such a thing as personal responsibility....even with athletes.

Thomas deserves a statue

He exemplifies the Panthers of this era

Good man. All heart.

#3224667 Rivera up for Coach of the Year Again

Posted by raleigh-panther on 31 January 2015 - 09:21 AM

How did he do against poor teams in the middle of the season.? About the same. With no pass defense, little pass rush and little offense to speak of we got beat by everyone and blown out by good teams. His worth was keeping everyone together and improving despite the circumstances. I don't understand why you folks can't give him any credit. I would think Panther fans would want the team and coach to succeed instead of criticizing and going out of their way to find fault. Are you sure you aren't a Falcons or saints fan.

Look, I like you but sometimes you attack people for no reason with the saints and falcons bs

I financially and with time have supported the team since their inception. I think I've earned the right to have an opinion about the coaching staff.

I think he is a very good person

I think he is a fine defensive coach

I think he is Wayne Fontes revisited

Special teams suck, not because the special teams coach is horrible, but because of injuries. Is he kidding me? Coaches jobs are to coach up the next man up.

Ron always has an excuse...it's his first year....it's injuries...it's a new GM...he can't hire great assistant coaches because who wants to come to the staff of a coach who might be fired.

Elite coaches don't have excuses. Elite coaches surround themselves and attract top notch staffs, eliminate the obvious in the DC, and who does he have on his staff that any other team would want?

I hope he proves me wrong but I suspect we will be having the exact same conversation this time next year and the year after that and the year after thar.

#3224419 Buying PSLs, looking for some help

Posted by raleigh-panther on 30 January 2015 - 06:30 PM

You have to accept that some years you won't make money on the tickets...even in good years,
Depending on the opponent

I try to only sell to Panthers fans but they are less likely to want to pay full price...they talk big but when it is time to put their money were their mouths are, they don't.

The very best advice I could give you, as someone who has owned PSLs for 14 years, buy them for your own enjoyment..buy them because you love game day..buy them because you love the team, then win or lose and you will never be disappointed.

Understand it costs time and money and a commitment Every year.

#3211898 If Cam threw 4 interceptions in a game...

Posted by raleigh-panther on 18 January 2015 - 08:08 PM

This loss is on the Packers. They screwed it up. Stupid special teams play and the offense too conservative when it matter. Same with Capers defense. I swear I don't understand why they have not moved away from him by now.

It's just as well. NE would have torn Green Bays ass up in the Super Bowl

Living in Raleigh I've gotten pretty sick of the Wilson worship. Then there is Brady. Might be a good Super Bowl to go to the movies.

#3202527 Steve Logan's points on the Panthers game past weekend and future. Radio...

Posted by raleigh-panther on 13 January 2015 - 09:50 AM

I think the Panthers and Rivera are too myopic on their appraoch to consider a change, much less a change to Steve Logan.

That is the biggest thing that reallly really bothers me.  They talk about evaluations of players and staff and yet the only ones to ever change are the players.

That special teams coach, Shula, and Dorsey need to go and we all know it just won't happen.  ...and that's sad for the players and for the fans who pay.

Go get the best coach you can, not the coach who is a friend or a coach who was available at the time that no one else wanted or a coach that is

comfortable for Cam.   Comfortable does not equal growth.  It never has, and it never will.

I just see the total hypocrisy in standing pat with coaches during an evaluation period but dumping players...and this is why the Panthers under Ron 'Wayne Fontes' Rivera will never be more than 7-9 or 9-7 with an occasional lucky 12-4 which results in a first round knockout in the playoffs.

thanks for the summary RP

I really enjoy listening to Logan - in addition to some real knowledge he is always good for a few laughs as well.

Your are welcome. I have to drive Mondays to Richmond in the pm and back Thursday in the pm so I listen when I can and is on

He also said the Panthers need young running backs ( we all know this here but maybe not the general public).

He was asked about Stewart and he said he is getting too old and Williams should already have been gone due to age and that position. But we all know why

1. Could not believe benjamin was not thrown to more

2. Point one was made in relation to Bersin failing on his route...why was Bersin the target there

3. Said one of the differences in championship teams is they had a punt and kick returners. Could not believe the Panthers did not address this in the offseason

4. Felt the Panthers were in decent shape for next year but tweaking was required including finding a decent returner. Discussion jokingly about Ginns one year contract being up and resigning him

5. Interestingly said the reason the Pamthers run the zone read so much has more to do with OL blocking deficiencies than Newton. Easier to hide those deficiencies in that scheme

6. Draft. No surprises. Same as most say on here

7. Asked what Cam should do in the offseason maybe trying what Kap is doing working with Werner and Logan said it couldn't hurt to work on 7 on 7s

8. Asked if Newton was worth the signing to long term. Unequivocally he said yes. Said in final QBR which his words just one metric of many, Newton ranked 14 out of 32 of the starting QBs

Again interesting to hear from someone who knows the Panthers and has been a coach

#3199087 So what does Gettleman do with Cam?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 11 January 2015 - 08:37 PM

Lord we have some homers on this board. Right now until Cam becomes more consistent you cant even compare him to Luck or Wilson.

Kap, Dalton, ok sure.

How about instead of 'homers' look at the comparison of the ownership, front office, coaching staffs, free agent and draft moves of the three organizations

You all pick out the QBs and go. 'see there is our problem right there. Get rid of Newton and all our problems will be fixed.'

Carolina has sucked it time and time again in the QB arena. do you know how many times Fox/hurney passed on QBs?

The Panthers have failed many times in their handling of cap situations, player evaluations, and coaching decisions and yet all of our woes are laid at the feet of Cam Newton. From the infamous Sean Gilbert fiasco to the handling of Steve smith to trying to make people believe that Byron bell and Nate Chandler are legitimate tackles in the NFL

Forgive my rant but I have followed this team for 20 years and they still can't do the most obvious things and the fan base continues to point to one player when it's an organizational issue. Will Gettleman fix it, who knows but if does not force a change in offensive staff and special teams staff, there is the answer.

#3198699 So what does Gettleman do with Cam?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 11 January 2015 - 07:10 PM

the panthers have a bottom 5 coaching staff. what he has done in the 4 years here is remarkable.

This

Why those in charge cannot see the obvious is very concerning

As Zod as said many times, 'we go no where with Shula'

Some of those calls and player groupings yesterday, sweet baby Jesus

#3198612 Hardy leaves goodbye to Panthers players.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not looking for to this being dredged up again on February 9th
