Why anyone would want another USC receiver is beyond me. Was Colbert Jarrett and Johnson enough

Please in the name of all that is holy...no more USC receivers

#2707095 Lafell disses Cam?

I think until lafell learns to catch and run complete routes he keep his opinions to himself

I suspect he might not be in the league 3'years from now

#2699984 deangelo williams taking a jab at panthers current roster

Posted by raleigh-panther on 16 March 2014 - 07:38 AM

Can't run without an offensive line.

Do we have one of those.....?

We best come out of FA with something resembling a LT and a RT before FA ends...  ...and no, I don't believe the answer is on the roster.

The reality is outside of Smith, and Muhammed before him and then with him, they never had stellar WRs.  Hopefully this draft changes this.

Gettleman needs to hit on every single draft pick if this team is to survive this season...particularly this season with Shula, no Oline, and no WRs.

This was a wholesale gutting and  I really don't believe that was Gettleman's intention.  How he could not have seen Gross' retirement, and planned a replacement after asking Gross to take a pay cut, and then voiding the contract, well its just mind boggling.

and don't think other players don't watch how a team's current players are treated when making decisions.  We are sitting here with a Top 2 defense and offensive players not interested in coming here...that's either the OC, the GM, the QB or all combined.

#2684903 Car most likely spot for Nicks

Posted by raleigh-panther on 11 March 2014 - 06:05 PM

Nicks has done nothing for 2 years. We have an older receiver being cut who did produce and we are talking about bringing in a less performing younger one

Just not exciting to me.

#2681891 Just to clear something up....

Posted by raleigh-panther on 10 March 2014 - 05:22 PM

It is a business

We all know it

Unitas, Rice, Montana all treated badly

Still this could have been handled a lot better for a man who crawled to the sideline with a broken leg rather than have people see him on a stretcher and a man who contributed so much.

Was he paid yes, but that doesn't mean he should not have had just a little respect.

Disappointing Gettleman. Disappointing.

#2674939 Smitty meets with Gettleman today

Posted by raleigh-panther on 04 March 2014 - 07:11 PM

Smith has said for 3 years he wants to be a slot receiver. Not his fault Panthers allowed a 35 yr old to continue as number 1 WR and not his fault they pay him like one either.

Denver is not a physical team and got it handed to them.

Getting a lead because of a botched snap at the start of the game didn't help; but, it would not have made any difference.

It will be interesting in Denver now, they hitched their wagon to a fading star. Kurt Warner aside, there are seldom quick fixes at
QB in Pro football.

...and Fox is ever so strong at selecting and grooming QBs.

I think this is not going to end well.

Well on the bright side Fua won't get a ring. SCP will be happy

I'm happy too had a futures bet on 4 times to win Superbowl in Vegas. Seattle was one of those teams

Of course the Panthers were too

Proud of Cam.

he is going about his business on and off the field at this game

With Cam and Luke, Panthers have a very bright future. Been a long time coming

#2620858 Is Brandon Williams our answer for a second tight end?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 18 January 2014 - 10:45 AM

Olsen goes down. Panthers are screwed. Get a high quality TE. Draft one. Start them together. It helps every thing

No way in the world do Brockel and Hartsock or Williams fit that bill. They don't scare any defense enough to scheme for them and if they can't do that they aren't the answer offensively

Special teams fine.

#2612077 Not just a new OC, but a new system is needed.

Posted by raleigh-panther on 13 January 2014 - 06:57 AM

Not sure if JR would stop DG and Rivera from canning Shula, unless he wanted to expressly continue good relations and being invited to dinner parties with his father, Don Shula.

Don't think who ever the OC is would make a difference to Cam.

The only possible effect, maybe Newton re-establishing a relationship and how long it would take him having input in the offense, as he does now.

But that shouldn't make a difference to Cam. He wants to win and put up points. And if there's someone who can, so let it be.

We'll see?

Very true.

It is hard to tell if its personnel in desperate need of  playmaker infusion, young playmaker infusion or the play calling or both.

Three  things are true to me:

1.  failing at the 1 yard line twice and doing the same thing in both of those drives is mind boggling.  As I heard

Strahan said, 'you challenge San Fran on the edges, not up the middle.  Why not spread them out?'.

2.  being in the low 20s in offense won't cut in the playoffs, no matter the cause.

3.  As I said before, the Panthers can't count on a miracle every week to get a W, from either side of the ball.

I hope Gettleman makes changes and when it comes to the guards, not sure the ones on IR are the answer either.

Regardless, Panthers fought for everything and enver quit.  I just hate Collin Kapernick more than I ever thought I would or could.  That little demonstration in the endzone totally bush league.  If Newton had done that, the headlines would be screaming what a thug he is.  If i had been Kapernick's coach, he would have gotten a 'act like you have been there before speech from me.
