#3097714 I don't think I've ever seen the fanbase against our HC coach this mu...

I agree that he has mismanaged many aspects of the team. I don't particularly have a problem with him being hands off on the offense though, a lot of coaches focus more on their specialty. My problem is not bringing in a guy that would deserve to be entrusted to run the offense competently. Too bad Norv Turner decided to go to Cleveland with Chud rather than come here. If he could have pulled off that move, we might all be having a different discussion today.

I don't pay much attention to reasons/excuses given since they are merely his way of answering a question that he has to answer. I'm sure that behind closed doors, they talk about some players the same way we do. But they can't come out and say publicly that "Byron Bell sucks and has no business on the football field, but everyone else we have sucks just as bad, if not worse, so we're stuck with him for now." They have to at least give the pretense that they believe in these guys.

Let me play devils advocate

..so he is. Defensive guru, if he looked at tape of his own team it should be pretty clear how to stop the Panthers

,,it's really pretty simple .. Don't you think he should have enough sense to have input into the offense?

Did it really take the Philly game for him to not see the lack of,separation?

Ask yourself, the elite coaches in the NFL, don't you think they are absolutely aware of all phases of the game at almost every second of the game?

How many times have you seen a Harbaugh or a Bellinchek running down the sidelines to call a time out because of some thing they saw on either side of the ball? When have you Ever seen Rivera do that?

The title is head coach for a reason and his on the job training over the past 4 years has not Worked he needs to matriculated on out of Charlotte

The Panthers need an elite coach and I expect Richardson to go get one or he might as well take cam Newton this season and trade him to the highest bidder,

We have seen elite coaches and Ron Rivera isn't even a game manager

I am very tired of the Ron Rivera show.

I suspect the team is too.

When you start seeing people like Greg Olsen getting frustrated, and if you ar the owner, you have take notice.

...then again, I'm not  sure JR notices much anymore.

The Ron & Dave show is a low ratings disaster but the fact is ole Dave signed Ron to a 3 year extension in the millions, you know the same guy who thought Bell and Chandler were legitimate tackles and Ron Harper and Cason could still cover someone.

If I were a betting person, come black Monday, ole Ron 'I'm just glad to be here and havent a clue what i'm doing' Rivera will still be here with his cast off of misfit NFL Coaches.

We need a coaching change

There are far worse transgressions than this

#3092275 Does Rivera have a chance at staying another year?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 16 November 2014 - 09:16 PM

You know it's hard to gauge what JR will do

He pulled the trigger on Capers and on Siefert. There were extenuating circumstances with Fox

Let us remember this is a man who fired his own sons and got rid of Hurney who he regarded as family

For the good of Newton and the Panthers, Rivera needs to go. He was a bad hire then and he is a bad hire now

There is not one good, inventive or repeatable play this offense can do. Most teams have that go to play. The Panthers have playing for a field goal against the worst pass defense in the league

Newton needs someone to interact with him on game day not named Ken Dorsey and someone to challenge him and hold him accountable during the game. But give him the chance to win the game not lose it.

If they want a game manager they should have traded for Alex Smith

JR looks frail to me. You would think he would aggressively pursue the best available resource in the coaching ranks

I'm not defending his words, but did you guys expect him to say anything different?

Yes, I do.

I want to hear him say:   I fuged up.   I took energy away from my team and I called a 'play not lose' series of plays.

I cost my team and I'm sorry.  I"m sorry for them and I"m sorry for the fans and I will learn from it and do better.

You know the same poo they want Cam to say every week.  His QB who constantly takes the hits for his Shula's and Gettleman's common dumbness.

It might even earn him some respect in that locker room...this everybody but 'me' bullshit is getting very old.

Here's a note to Ron, think about what the Patriots coach or the Green Bay coach or the Indy coach or the Arizona coach would have done and try to emulate them.  Even if you are not great, pretend you are.    It's fairly clear you ware not a big thinker out there.  Let me be clear, you are a 3-6-1 coach, what exactly did you have to lose by going for it?  What happened to the 'agressive' coach you promised to be?

This is sad times Panthers' fans.  There is not enough talent on this team this year to save this coach from himself.

I'm getting to old for yet another lost season.

#3083978 and then, there is this.....

Posted by raleigh-panther on 12 November 2014 - 12:49 PM

And this is why the Panthers will never ever be anything

Said it before and will say it again here

They have
A coach no one wanted
A GM no one wanted to hire
An offensive coordinator no one wanted
A previous GM who was a sports reporter

...and we wonder why they lose and don't have back to back winning seasons and go through this poo over and over again

I have never been one to automatically dump a coach but it needs to happen.

The Panthers have a HC no one wanted. A OC no one wanted and a General Manager no one wanted

Put it all together and it is misery personified,

In all the years, I never blamed JR but he has been the only consistent in a myriad if bad decisions. Maybe everyone is right.

#3081543 If you change OCs do you change style or philosophy

Posted by raleigh-panther on 11 November 2014 - 11:56 AM

I don't give a damn about Rivera

Open the checkbook and hire away a good to great OC and let him be coach in waiting if necessary

The Panthers have nothing to lose at this point

There are no quick fixes for this quagmire

Bell is a total dumb poo for even offering

He got his QB killed over and over again

He missed blocks. In FULL in both the run and the passing game

How is it even possible that someone that big cannot just stand in front of someone

Not to be out done, Chandler being totally knock off his feet.

In all my years of watching football, I have never, ever, ever seen a line this atrocious

Amazing how beautiful a ball cam throws when he is given time

I don't think I have ever felt so bad for a player

People on this board forget his first three years and the Heisman

It's not like he just forgot how to play

#3076157 Trent Dilfer: " I'm ashamed of what the Panthers are doing to Cam".

Posted by raleigh-panther on 10 November 2014 - 06:55 PM

I agree with every thing young and differ and,Lewis said

If I was Newton after this season, the conversation would be, what is your two year plan to help me get this team to the Super Bowl?

If Gettleman didn't have an answer, outta here.

#3073600 So who still believes in the Panthers this season?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 09 November 2014 - 12:37 PM

Always a fan and I put my money where my fandom is every year with season tickets

So, as the old saying goes about breakfast. The chicken is involved. The pig is committed

That's kinda were I am

I will always hope for the best possible outcome; but I've followed football too long to be delusional.

Another pig saying, seeing how we are in the South, 'you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.'

Sadly, Gettleman put a pig on the field this year and didn't bother with the lipstick.

Hue Jackson GOAT

Guy is an urban legend around here. He has two games now that I believe scored less points than Shula ever has here with arguably more talent

Who isn't, compared to Shula. Give me the choice of Shula or Hue, I'll take Hue. Who on here would not? If anyone says they would take Shula, Liar liar pants on fire.

#3064327 Is it really so hard to make offensive changes

Posted by raleigh-panther on 02 November 2014 - 04:19 PM

The Panthers need to embrace the concept of moving the chains

If they need 5 yards, get 5 and a half, meaning through the ball that far and throw on first down.

Sometimes I sit there and think, is this. a JV team in high school? Do they really not get the concept of getting a first down

..and yes they need to have a speed threat and they don't have one..they sure as hell should have kept Ginn

#3063814 Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

Posted by raleigh-panther on 02 November 2014 - 11:29 AM

I rewatched that Saints game vs. what I saw at the stadium.

If there is anybody in the Panthers organization that thinks Newton lost them that game, they should be fired immeidately because obviously they are beyond stupid.

The tape does not lie.

Newton missed a few things, yes, and he could have done a few things better but there were a lot bigger issues than Newton.  Dropped passes, wrong route combinations, missed blocks, setups by the OL that told everyone what play was coming, a defensive secondary that no one would want.

Again, the tape does not lie.

They send such mixed messages to that man,  'run, no don't run'  ', yeah, we know we can't open running lanes and we have a dumpster fire oline, receivers no one wants, and RBs that are well past their prime and the play calls well, you know, we are who we are'  but  'hey CAM, you need to make up for all of that and if you don't, well, we'll just whisper about how you have not matured as a QB.'

If these whispers are true, I'm pissed.  Really Really pissed and so will the other PSL holders around me.  Money and empty seats talks.

I feel like this guy has carried this Offense for so long, he just can't do it anymore.  It's a team sport, not one man.
