Charlotte Gets an ESPN 300 Commit

26 February 2015 - 03:51 PM

Not many Charlotte fans here I know, but local product Benjamin LeMay of Butler has committed to Charlotte. LeMay is ranked 293rd on ESPN in the 2016 class and is 1 point away from being a 4 star running back.

I don't know exactly what his offer list looks like, but all the recruiting sites only list SEC and ACC schools as schools of interest (other than Charlotte of course).

His brother, Uriah LeMay was a very highly sought after recruit as well. He ended up at UGA, but transferred to Charlotte last season after getting into some trouble.

Really big get for us. We'll see if it sticks, but his interview made it seem like it was a pretty solid commitment.

Normally I wouldn't make a thread specific to one player committing, but at Charlotte we aren't going to get many noteworthy football recruits with any kind of national rankings unless they are transfers.

Non-ACC Schools in NC

24 November 2014 - 09:26 AM

For fans of schools other than ACC schools, I figured we could all post here. I doubt there is enough interest for ECU, Charlotte, App, etc to have their own basketball threads, so we can dump it all here.

Charlotte has started the season decently, 3-1 with wins over Elon, Penn State, and South Carolina. We lost our best player during the Miami game and we were never really the same afterwards. We have a chance at revenge at home on Tuesday night though in a rare back to back OOC matchup.

I saw that App had a win over VT, which was really surprising considering the state of App's basketball program right now. Capel really did a number on it before finally being fired.

Hard to draw any conclusions about ECU at this point because, like clockwork, they've loaded up on non-D1 programs to start the season. They even played a school that wasn't DII, DIII, or NAIA. Yes, there are apparently divisions lower than that (who knew?) and ECU played a game against a school in one. I anticipate them finishing in the lower-middle of the AAC though. Some talent, but also a lot of youth and not a lot of depth. A good foundation for next year though.
