#2881610 PSLs

Posted by grateflday on 08 August 2014 - 02:02 PM

A lot of valid points here. Another question would be when they raze this stadium in 8 to 10 years and build a new one, will your license transfer to the new stadium. I suspect even if it transfers somehow there will be some sort of transfer "fee" that will be imposed.

This has been and is a "concern" of mine.  The positive is I do not think there will be a new stadium here anytime soon, not at least 20 years or so from now, if not longer.  I know people will chime in as to why I am wrong, etc; but that is how is see it.  While the stadium was built awhile ago, fortunately it was done so with plenty of Suites, Boxes, and Club seats (all of what the older placed did not have and they all want).  There are also plenty of seats for everyone else.  That, plus the stadium is nice and I think pretty cool look, feel, etc.  I have been to plenty stadiums over the years all around, and Panther Stadium is not to shabby compared to many others.  Again, opinion.  There is also plenty of room inside for them to eventually do more.

That all being said.... yeah... if I ever find myself in a position where I have to try to get what I have in a new stadium... it will suck.

As far as other posters and that one blasting the PSL.   Bottom line I was living in a city where this is how they did it and I had a choice.  I did not look at is an investment but an expense that the $3k I spent per seat (while it sucked) when you look at that over the 20 -30+ years I will be going to games that was just adding a couple of dollars to the ticket price.

Anyhooo.... cant wait for the home opener...... Go Panthers!!

And YES they do try to give more for being a PSL owner... We also won a fan experience and my son and I were on the sideline, and on the field at the Playoff Game against the Niners during player warmups, intros and anthem holding the US Flag.

My dad is looking into buying some but I don't really understand the point of them. He thought it meant you owned the seats and don't have to buy season tickets every year. But you do right? What's the benefits? Inform me.

PSL are a "Personal Seat License" ... it just gives you the right to buy season tickets and playoff tickets.  You own the seat right and can sell it, etc.  The Panthers have some PSL's left, etc from ones that were never bought.  But yeah, you are still buying the tickets every year.  The PSL cost is a one time thing.  One more thing, if you dont buy the tickets you lose the license or better sell it or pay for your tickets before that happens.

#2692218 Bobby Hebert said New Orleans a contender for Smith if he doesn't go to B...

Posted by grateflday on 13 March 2014 - 05:16 PM

I guess it's possible, but I don't see it. Steve Smith loathes the Saints, and playing for Sean Payton? Nah.

I can definitely see Smith in NO.   The hate towards any franchise by a player is usually due to the fact teams are rivals, but many times a hated player or franchise becomes a loved one when that player is then on that team, etc.

Smith wants numbers, wants a ring, wants to go the playoffs and would probably love to play the Panthers two times a year and once in Charlotte.  Being in NO will provide all this for him.  Would not be surprised one bit if he signed there.  I

The Panthers NEED to find a new #1 WR (which we all already know) and then Steve Smith has several good years left in him playing in the slot.  He would excel in that position.

This one is the best so far.  I can see us.  We are on the left side (looking at the pic)  That's me in the #34 Black Jersey next to the person in the Blue Jersey, who is my son.  We are both looking behind us :-)

#2592862 Got Tickets? Where You Sittin?

Posted by grateflday on 06 January 2014 - 09:37 PM

Section 540, Row 1aa (front row) seat 15,16.

This will be the first game I miss kickoff, but for a great reason!!   Got a call last week from the Panthers and was selected to be one of the fans holding the big american flag on the field during the anthem.  My son and I will doing that.  I am guessing we will be on the sideline during player intro's and of course on the field for the anthem;  then getting to our seats after all that.  We will be getting all the details and have a practice run when we show up .   :jig:

We are psyched. Go Panthers!

#2555075 Ticket warning!

Posted by grateflday on 21 December 2013 - 09:58 PM

My wife just surprised me with tickets!  In burlington visiting bro in law. Thought we were going shopping tomorrow.  She whips out 2 tickets to the game.  Everyone knew except me.  This is my first time ever going to a game.   Section 122. Parking in lot 7 on south poplar st..

Have fun and enjoy it.  Stay there in the rain, cheer and scream the whole time.  Stay the entire game and do not leave until the clock says 0:00... no matter what.

Go Panthers!!

#2523873 Invoice for playoff tickets

How many psl owners will say its a great model when the panthers decide to make a new stadium and say "sorry your psls are for the old stadium, you now pay ____ more because this is new"

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

The above scenario would suck!!  Sadly I know many lifelong Giants and Jets fans who had season tickets that because of the PSL method were priced out of be part of having tickets when they built their new stadium.  I guess at least for them, they did not lose money spent on PSL's but for me mine was not an investment.  To me it was just a cost ammortized over many years towards the price of my tickets and these are going to my son so there is never a desire to sell them anyway.   It would suck for sure if that happened here in Charlotte in which they built a new place and I got priced out.  Plus I have great seats and would hate to lose them.  These are all reasons why I will always be against getting a new stadium here  :D   That being said, despite how "old" people say the stadium is, it was built with a lot of suites and club seats which is one of the biggest drivers of why teams build new, so that will not be a problem here.  Also they are doing a big renovation and stuff.  I do not see this team needing a new place for a looooooonnnng time so I am not to worried about.

#2490725 Where you guys sitting?

Posted by grateflday on 17 November 2013 - 03:31 PM

If your going to the game where you sitting? I'll be in section 540 row 5 seat 26.....I will also be slightly intoxicated haha also anybody with any sort of tailgate give some details!

I sit in 540 Row 1A ... I am always there.  Be more than happy to have you standing up, screaming etc.... our section needs that more.  I get asked to sit down a lot, and most don't get up with me when I try.

This and this x1000.  The fault lies with Jerry Richardson, again, by not getting rid of the coach along with the GM. .....

Without a doubt this has been one of the most frustrating parts of the past ~4 years.  It all started when Fox got fired and they kept Hurney.  Right then and there both should have gone.

#2414823 Cams worst problem

....... That drop in the end zone was a game changer imo.

I thought the same thing when it happened.  The fourth down drop was the icing on the cake.  Sadly both occurred early in the game and many of us were probably thinking after them the Panthers were going to lose.  Sadly this team is NEVER able to overcome anything.  They either have to play a perfect game or they lose.  Overcoming a mistake never happens with this team.

#2397791 Deangelo Williams Hitting His Stride

Posted by grateflday on 24 September 2013 - 11:08 AM

i doubt he'll get much attention until he finds his way into the endzone.

bad thing for him in that regard is he's pretty much the 'between the 20's' guy. they've got other plans for other guys when they get in the red zone or at the end zone.

he has been really impressive, tho.

He will just have to get in the endzone with a bunch of long runs :-)      He has been close plenty of times this season, where just one more burst and guy and he was gone.  D'Will has that big play ability in him.

#2396217 Giants fan observations at the game

Posted by grateflday on 23 September 2013 - 11:18 AM

I have been asked to sit down before at games... BUT yesterday was a first.  The fans behind me yesterday were Giants fans.  By the third quarter they tapped me on the shoulder after I stood up, again, during a big play.  They asked me if I would mind not standing up ..... LOL... I couldn't believe it.  Never before had an opposing teams fan asked me to sit.  It was classic.  I politely told him "That is not gonna happen", and left it at that.

One thing I will say is the Giant contingency was loud and thank you to the Panthers for shutting them up early, and keeping them that way.

#2395163 Panthers - Giants Illustrated

On offense we saw the Cam Newton of old. A Cam Newton not afraid to run the ball. A Cam Newton without the leash that Mike Shula had placed on him for two games. It seems the Panthers remembered they have one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the league, and called plays accordingly.

Awesome post Zod.  Thanks for sharing.  The pictures are amazing and this one of Cam is off the charts.
