Nah, they should just change their mascot to a potato. That way they are still the skins and some potatoes are red.

#2843521 Inside info on upcoming Products.

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 09 July 2014 - 01:02 AM

As some of you may or may not know, I work a little company that does better sound through research...So there are some really neat products coming out in the near future.

For starters one of the new products is another bluetooth speaker device called the Soundlink color (SLC). IF you're familiar with the Soundlink mini (SLM), it is similar as far as function. The difference is the type of speaker being used and of course the size.

To put it in visual size, it around 10x7x2.5 inches. It's a rough estimate. The sound is amazing. It is as loud if not louder than the Soundlink Mini. Difference is the speaker, which is the same speaker used in the Soundlink III. The soundlink mini uses specially designed speakers that are small but pack a punch. Since the soundlink color will use 2 Soundlink III speakers. The power is astounding. The Soundlink III uses 4 speakers. That thing is loud. Sound link color will be half the power of it. So you can bet you will get a good product.

Another difference is that unlike the SLM, the SLC is made all out of plastic. SLM is made out of a metal enclosure. It's mostly cosmetic. Unfortunately that metal enclosure is very fragile. Trust me, a small nick can be made with the slightest touch. I recommend getting a cover for the SLM in case you are planning on getting one or have one.

There is a rumor going on that This product or some other product, mainly headphones, will actually have NFL team logos. Yes, first 6 teams. Which teams? I do not know, I did not get to see the products in the meeting they had. But I can confirm that there will be 6 teams that have their logos on a bose product. Depending on sales, if there are plenty, you can be there will be Panthers related headphones or even Bluetooth speakers. Which means....I'll have first dibs on this. Woot woot!

Another product that is launching, actually launched 3 weeks ago. Is a surround speaker bar. It's called UNICODE here. I am not sure of the name that the consumer will call it. BUT, if you are familiar with the Cinemate series. It is basically a smaller version of it and of course it will cost a lot less than the Cinemate bar. It's around half the size of that and that thing is around 4 feet long I believe. I heard it and let me tell you. Underneath a HDTV it would sound amazing. Depending on your set up. Honestly if you like to keep it simple with one of these, It would be enough instead of a whole surround sound system.

#2840911 Getting a promotion soon.

Thanks for the kind words. The way some of you put it, I should not worry about anything. I'll just keep a level head and hope for the best.

#2840471 Getting a promotion soon.

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 05 July 2014 - 04:53 AM

It's been a long time coming. I have to say that the adjustment of salaries between the USA and Mexico did bother me. But now that I've been here a while, I am glad to be getting an opportunity.

For those of you that don't know, I work for Bose. The manufacturing plant in Mexico. I started out there as a direct operator manning a simple machine. First time around, I only made a journey of 5 months. I lasted around 4 months without a job until they called me again. Clean slate and all. I started out as a direct operator once again. But this time around within a couple of weeks. I was moved up to line repairman/Group Leader.

Bose manages each product with a cell type of approach. Each Cell makes different types of products. I was actually brought in for the new product, back then actually, that is now known as the Soundlink Mini.

Soundlink-Mini-3-of-11.jpg

That was the project I started on as a Repair line/Group leader. Without previous experience I was literally thrusted into the Group leader role. Basically the pinnacle of Cell work. You know all the steps, which are around 20+ and your job. It is a pressure type of business. It's production. Meet your goal without any rejected material is the name of the game. I met the standards always. I didn't like the idea of being thrown to the wolves without any previous training. Everyone else was going to Group Leader courses while I was in the battle field so to speak.

In a way, it did me good. I got my battle scars and learned a lot in a short amount of time. Fast forward a year now, I'm being handed the opportunity of Product Coordinator. That's a nice pay upgrade and recognition from my peers. Not everyone gets to do this. The requirements are set and I have met them. I've been recognized for my great work and the short amount of time of my ascension to this position.

....again, I am being hurled to this position. I am a bit nervous because It is unknown territory for me. There are more politics involved than what I had to deal with as a group leader and a repair line/Group leader. I'd be in charge of two cells for the new product that is going to come out this year. It's basically the soundlink mini but with colors and better sound. Another portable Bluetooth device. That is why I am getting the opportunity. I am not the kind of person to shy away from responsibility, but I would like to know what I am getting into. That's my dilemma. Everyone else is getting training but I am not. I am training people to become Group leaders and repair linemen.

I've trained several people, around 8 people to be exact. I don't know what to think to be honest... I feel torn because I feel that I always get the short end of the stick in the training. Everyone else gets the knowledge before I do. I have to play catch up all the time. Yes I can catch up, but I feel left out when everyone else has the knowledge to do the job and I have to learn on the go.

I've yet to express this to my boss. I have a feeling he will tell me to suck it up and learn on the fly like I always have. I just don't find it fair to be honest.

I excel at everything they throw at me, maybe the think I can do this easily, I don't know. I am glad I am getting the opportunity, because I have earned it. The factory wide consensus of me is positive, all the head bosses know my name now. When I applied for the position i had to interview with every head boss and people from Boston in English, which was awesome. I feel very confident speaking English. So that helped me more to cement the chance to get this job.

Like every job, there will be people that are jealous and try to make you trip.Thankfully I've not fallen for those cheap tricks. But the pressure is getting to me and I've not started this new journey yet. This new position will either catapult me or doom me. Nerves are present, but I will try to do the best I can.

Ok I'm ending my rant now...If you have any advice about these type of events, on how I should react or take things in, please. Let me know.

#2839725 G.Olsen:I'm a TE, not a WR and proud if it

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 03 July 2014 - 07:49 PM

Top 5 te????

I was thinking the same thing. Who would be his top 5?

(off the top of my head)

1.Rob Gronkowski

2.Jimmy Graham

3. Vernon Davis

4.Jason Witten

5. Antonio Gates

Not even mentioning the new blood Julius Thomas, Cameron Jordan, Tyler Eifert, Zack Ertz, etc etc.

Olsen a top 5 TE? lol no. He's a top 10 for sure, not a top 5.

#2838738 All in with Die Mannschaft now!

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 03 July 2014 - 12:24 AM

USA is always my #1 but after that I pull for the Netherlands and Germany b/c of ancestry. even though i have English heritage, i root for them to fail every World Cup. they're too arrogant about their soccer

Really wanna see Netherlands win the most. fun team to watch

#2833978 What is the Worst Fan Base in the NFL

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 27 June 2014 - 11:23 PM

When we hosted Dallas a couple years ago their were some Cowboy fans behind us and they called the keep pounding thing "gay and annoying" and called panther fans fags. They also had a young kid with them.

That's some really parenting by the kid. He should have controlled those adults.
