#2912899 Going to Myrtle Beach... fun things to do with 6 month old?

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on Today, 02:54 PM

The beach itself is a very good learning experience for your baby. The sand. The Ocean. The sounds. The Smell. Take it easy though. Don't be a dumbass and swim out 30 yards into the ocean with your baby.

#2911083 Stephen Hill for a late conditional pick?

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 26 August 2014 - 10:37 PM

This guys 6'4 and his lowest 40 time was the same as ted ginn jr 4.28. I feel like this guy is being undervalued.

Over Valued to me...he has no hands. He can't catch a cold.

At this point, I say cut ties with one of the Vets, mostly Avant..Let the young bloods take over. Cotchery can be the yoda of the group.

#2908009 Joint Practices.

Posted by Ivan The Awesome on 24 August 2014 - 09:09 PM

Reading about all these teams doing joint practices with other teams. I got to thinking, this may actually be a good way to get this team battle ready.

These joint practices have been picking up since 2011. Apparently they are, and have been, allowed for quite some time.

I think the value of these events is the competition kicks it to another gear. Some of the best teams are doing it. I ask why haven't the Panthers done this? We have arguably one of the best defense in the NFL, but our Offense could benefit from these practices against say an AFC team. For Example, what if we joint practice with an AFC South team? Tennessee Titans or Indianapolis Colts? I'd say they are relatively close by and travel wouldn't be much of a hassle.

Our ones vs their ones.

Who wouldn't want to see Keuchly signal calling against Andrew Luck in Practice? Or  Cam go up against a different defense, which is underrated, both the Titans and the Colts.  Now these two teams are just examples. Not necessarily who I would think we'd practice against. Either way the possibilities are enticing. Heck, we could even be practicing with the Steelers, since the owners are buddy buddy. Yes, I hate the Steelers, but this is for the greater good of the team. Rivera could evaluate the team and individual players a like in a much intricate and detailed fashion. Also, Gettleman would have an inside track on the other teams talent and watch their waiver wire. Different schemes both on offense and defense would benefit this team. The veterans and the rookies a like.

Rookies would get an earlier taste of the NFL and what it takes vs other teams, the speed of the NFL and if they have it or not and what they need to work on. Our QB would be able to get different looks and schemes. Even if they are vanilla in this section of the season.

Our own division is doing it. The Saints, the Falcons and the Bucs have participated. Why not us? What would it take to get this going next year. I believe it would be imperative to the progression of the team. Instead of the slow starts, this team could have that in the past and have decent starts or even great starts.

In conclusion, Iron sharpens Iron. I only see win win in this situation. About the only con I would see is probably the high tempers and fights against other teams.

What say you huddle?
