I am getting older and fatter and less tolerant of poo. That said I wanted to start a list. Feel free to add to it, argue against it or just don't read. I have tried to compartmentalize in a logical manner but priority changes depending on mood.
1. Groups of people leisurely walking through the airport blocking others.
By others I mean me. Get out of the way. Get closer together and realize not everyone is going to Cancun this weekend
2. Douchebag that cant find seat 6C.
Its not calculus. Its a single digit number and the 3rd letter of the alphabet.
3. People who dont realize metal detectors detect metal.
1. People who remind you of their importance
If you remind me of your title or position in an email its because no one gives a poo about what you have to say and we dont take you seriously. Leave me alone
2. Answer avoidance man
Ask a question and instead of saying I dont know let me find out, poo hole goes on tangent and says nothing of relevance
3. Sales guys that promise stuff
I realize you gotta bring in the coin but don't blindly promise crap if you are stupid
1. Sleep overs
My kids' friends are idiots.
2. Tupperware/plastic storage containers
Nothing is standardized and the lids never fit.
3. Neighbors who suck, and dont blow their grass clippings off my driveway
This is not what I would call ideal but I can see something like this happening. I dont think GMan will reach too far and they way this one played out I didnt either. I am sure this will get crucified due to not having a WR in the 1st or 2nd but the way the chips fell, there was no one to be had.
Enjoy. Or not...
OT ZACK MARTIN
Benjamin was still on the board here but Martin is as close to a Plug and Play guy you will find at #28. Beckham, Lee and Cooks were taken just before the Panthers picked.
G DAVID YANKEY
Gonna get crucified for there not being a WR yet but Yankey was here and all the WR were off the board. Latimer was the closes but could not resist the Gahd.
WR MARTAVIS BRYANT
Finally a receiver. Not as polished as the guys before him but he has a high ceiling.
WR ROBERT HERRON
Was somewhat surprised that he dropped to the 4th but I think it was good value here.
CB CHRIS DAVIS
Kick Six War Eagle lands in our lap. Provides some help in the rotation and might be able to return kicks.
CB DONTAE JOHNSON
Good late round pickup. Played CB and FS
OT JUSTIN BRITT
Good value in the 7th and gives us depth. Was surprised he fell this far though.
Just saw the news that Ralph Wilson passed and could not help make a comparison to the Panthers eventual transition away from Big Cat. I don't know if there are direct parallels and certainly believe that you cant jump to conclusions but I will be keeping up with the goings on of the Bills franchise as it moves to a different ownership whether it be within the family or a different group.
All that said I would be remiss not to say RIP Ralph Wilson. A great AFL founder that helped build the league into what it is today.
- O Line Get Wharton back and maybe pickup an aging tackle
- DB Re-sign Munnerlyn and Mitchell. I think Godfrey gets cut
- WR Probably will not get a top tier guy but need a stop gap
- DE Gettleman needs to ink Hardy or find a short term solution. Ideally we could franchise and trade but I dont want to speculate.
Offseason Team Progress
- Silatolu recovers fully and can play at the pre-injury level
- Kugbila ditches the Schwinn and proves he can contribute
I dont think we make a heavy splash with Nicks but do think we pick up a guy at WR that is better hands than LaFell. Put together this draft using the Fanspeak simulator. Generally did not reach more than a couple spots for guys.
Overall I would have liked to have improved the OL a bit more but like I said, I did not reach far at all.
1. WR ODELL BECKHAM JR.
First round tackles are gone and the Panther’s need a WR. The difference between this LSU WR and the one currently on the roster is that OBJ has pretty reliable hands. Lafail does not. And apparently he is pretty fast.
2. OT JA’WUAN JAMES
Considered 2nd tier but he will start for the Panthers next season
3. DE JACKSON JEFFCOAT
Would like to address OL/WR or DB but he is clearly BPA on the board
4. CB KEITH MCGILL
Big physical corner to help build defensive backfield
5. WR BRUCE ELLINGTON
Another fast WR.
6. TE CROCKETT GILMORE
Big TE that can catch and block. Would rather shore up the line but we need a TE also.
7. CB WALT AIKENS
Good prospect that could settle into the rotation eventually.
