Tickets for Browns Game

16 December 2014 - 11:32 AM

I'm looking for anywhere from 2-4 tickets for the browns game. Why should you sell them to me? Well each game we've won at home this year I've been at, so there's that!.....

But seriously, I'd like to take my dad and possibly my sister with the gf and I to the last home game this year. If anyone has some good priced tickets that would be amazing, thanks!

2014 Free Agent Signing

03 December 2014 - 09:48 AM

How well has our free agent signings this year performed? Who's left? Who could potentially stay? Well lets take a look....

S Anderson Russell
-Released Injury Settlement

TE Mike McNeil
-Released (I believe injury settlement but can't find it anywhere)

CB James Dockery
-Released, then resigned, 6 games this year with 11 tackles

S Roman Harper
-Signed a 2 year deal, started all 12 games so far this year. Lowest career total for tackles so far (excluding two years when injuried and missed games). Tied career high for 3 INT.

WR Jerricho Cotchery
-Started 11 games, 34 Rec for 436 yards and 0 TD. Tied career low in TDs at 0, 6th lowest in yards.

WR Tiquan Underwood
-Cut during Preseason

CB Antoine Cason
-Started 11 games, appeared in 12. 4th highest in total tackles, 2nd career high with 2 INT, career high 4 FF. Released yesterday.

QB/WR Joe Webb
-Appeared in 4 games so far, 1 Rec for 16 yards, 2 Returns Avg 26 yards.

WR Jason Avant
-11 appearances 0 "starts". 21 rec (2nd lowest in career excluding rookie year). 201 Yards and 1 TD. Released and now signed with KC Chiefs

DT Colin Cole
-12 appearances, 9 starts. 23 comb. Tackles.

TE Ed Dickson
-12 appearances, 8 starts. Both career lows with 6 Rec. 56 yards and 0 TD

DE Alex Hall
-Waived in Preseason

FS Thomas Decoud
-11 starts, career low (so far could improve next 4 games) in Comb. Tackles 48. 1 INT

G Fernando Velasco
-9 appearances with 7 starts.

G Chris Scott
- Waived, then signed to PS. Then signed to active roster. 4 appearances, 0 starts.

RB Chris Ogbonnoya
-Signed, waived, signed, waived. 5 appearances, 14 carriers 54 yards and 1 TD.

I left off the random signings (that lasted just through camp or a week etc) many expect Roman to be cut during the summer as a June 1st Cut. The only ones I can see coming back next year would be Joe Webb, James Dockery, and maybe Colin Cole? Doesn't look good especially when two of those were on our roster the year before.

So since 2003 we have used out of the first four rounds of the draft 25 picks on offense, and 23 picks on defense. You can see we have invested some picks on offense but A LOT do not work out. Out of 48 picks only 14 are still on the team currently. Of this 14, 8 are on the offensive side of the ball while 6 are on defense. We spent our top pick of that draft (not meaning 1st rounder all the time) 6 times on the offensive side of the ball out of 11 years.

We have a lot of holes on the offense side of the ball, most kf which we can't bank on 7 rounds to fill with starters, and our history has shown we don't always do well with those picks, why is that and where do you think we go after first in FA and draft next year?

Career Advice

24 October 2014 - 03:07 PM

So keep in mind, I know there is alot of info need for jobs etc. But I will try and explain as much as possible.

I'm 26 years old and have worked retail/food industry since I was 16 years old. Every job I've had I've worked hard and moved my way up in the company untill either I dont see any more growth (one of my previous jobs) or company downsizes etc.

My current role I'm a General Manager of a retail/food industry job. Ive been in my current role for almost 2 1/2 years now. I took over a store that was barely averging $23,000 a week (around 1.2 million a year) that was only brining in around 38-40% Controlable Cost.
In my two years at the store, I've increased my weekly revenue to around $35,000 (not hitting holidays yet) and around 1.8 million a year. Ive increased my controllable cost from 38% to around 60-65% depending on the month. I feel like I run a pretty successful store.

I want to move up, mostly because I don't want to be in a store for the next 20 years. I'm no where near my cap at pay (though I am higher than my peers average because I was a external hire). I like my job and the company I work for but I'm worried about its growth potential for myself. Currently I am competing against myself with thr rapid sales growth the past two years (almost a 30% growth in two years) and due to this my budgets are enormous. My boss has even expressed that shes concerned I wont hit them due to inflated numbers. That frustrates me due to the fact that I grew the business but they want more (its retail I know). My next "path" would be DM and in my immediate area there are 5-6 of these with only 1 position becoming open the last 4 years. I don't like those odds when there are over 80-100 stores under those.

Should I just stick it out? Or look else where? Company gives great benefits and stock etc. But I don't want to become stagnant as I know the next 5-10 years is what I will make likely the rest of my life.

Hope Solo and the double standard?

20 September 2014 - 04:49 PM

So serious discussion and maybe I shouldn't be posting it here if I want that but....here it goes.

Was reading a article about Hope Solo and how she allegedly attacked her sister and her 17 year old nephew. Told him he was to fat to be a athlete and her sister had blood on her shirt. Why is this not being covered like the NFL and Greg Hardy and Adrian Peterson?

Is it because she's female? Isn't that a double standard? Or could it be because of her playing soccer and not football?

One thing that really struck a nerve was that Neil Buethe knows what the situation is and states that "if it wasn't that she was so close to breaking a record that shows her hard work and dedication to USA soccer, she most likely would be sitting out". What? Seriously? Maybe if Panthers are about to play in the Super Bowl we should let him play. Or if Peterson is about to break the all time record for rushing yards he should play.

Whats everyone's thoughts on this?
