I don't suppose you know how much he's asking/being offered by DET/NYJ?

Not sure about the $$$ amount but DET was a 5 year deal.

Rook, you think there's any truth to him wanting to come here? Like he said he'd love to play with Cam. The way you make it sound is if GB comes knocking he'll just stay where he is.

I seriously think he wants to. He wants to be the #1 guy and we don't have anyone. I remember him saying a lot of good things about Cam after we played them back in 2011. When he says he'd love to play with Cam. Trust me he is telling the truth

ah gotcha. I wish one of my friends was famous like that. Try to away him to play for car

I want him to play for CAR, but at the end of the day thats my friend. He's got to do whats best for him and his family. My other friends are trying to persuade him to play for SD, SF, and OAK lol

How come you said you doubted he would want to come here? not doubting you just wondering why. thanks

Green Bay was the perfect situation. He's been there his whole career.

That's actually pretty cool. So did you help him out when he was homeless?

I didn't know him back then. I'm from SC and I graduated high school in 2004. After high school I moved to CA to play football at a Juco.  At the Juco I went to, I met one of his best friends. That's how I got introduced to him. Been friends ever since.

The only reason I might believe this is I saw someone post a pic of JJ at a gas station somewhere in Cali. Your location says Cali. Further details would be nice, other wise you're setting yourself up for ridicule

I have his phone number. I seriously just text him and asked. Wish I could post a pic but i'm not sure how.  I've been a friend of his for about 10 years.

I just talked to Jerry Richardson...

Could you ask him why the FO is sitting on their hands and doing nothing.

So I just talked to him and asked him if the Panthers had contacted him. The Panthers have contacted him, but have not made him an offer.

#2679699 Panthers Interested In Eric Decker and Hakeem Nicks

Posted by Rook35200 on 08 March 2014 - 05:35 PM

The whole Broncos team dissapeared in the SB. Thomas had 13 rec but was not a factor all game. Seattle just came to play that day.

89 willl briing toughness but his days of being a 100 yds guy each week are over. He had "one" game of 70 yds+ this past season and that came in the Playoff. If Jerry Rice's (the best receiver to ever play this game) production can come to an end, 89 certainly could and it has.

His game was always based on his speed which certainly isnt there anymore. Hes a no3 wr today. Hes not going to demand double coverages or the no1 corner on him anymore.

No team right now will take 89 over Decker. Thats just the truth. Believe it or not.

The best thing is take a paycut, let Gman bring in help, and move to the slot.

If he was still playing at a level Reggie Wayne is, then yea maybe we could call that a "high level". 89 clearly looked like an old man on the field last season.

Smitty sure did run by Frisco's fastest CB for a touchdown in the playoffs last year. I agree he has lost a step with age, but he still has it and is still better than Decker. Decker being a number one receiver is a joke. He's a product of the system, the QB, and the surplus of weapons on the Denver offense.

Here's the big secret he doesnt have 2 good years left, last year was just ok, with him making a few clutch plays he was boarderline averge for a #2 last season. He had 400 less yards last year on 9 less catches from the year before, and nearly 700 yards less on 15 less catches from the year before that, Smith isnt getting better, he's declining heavily, what is he going to do next season on his current rate of decline he may do 500 yards on 50 catches? that's good if youre a #3 but heck there are players dozens of players you could get that level of production out of every year in FA.

We honestly would be better off Going with Nicks or Decker, and drafting a WR's and Hoping he pans out then just drafting and praying he works out. WR is about as hit and miss as any position in the NFL when it comes to drafting, with litterally like 50% of them turning bust.

if it was that easy to draft a #1 WR every team would have one, which most dont.

You do realize this year our offensive philosophy changed right? we went from being a verticle passing offense to a run first, ball control offense coached by Mike Shula. I argue that Smith's decline in production this year is because of the offensive system he played in. Smitty still has big play potential, but he can't do it alone anymore. He needs help. If you think Eric Decker is going to come in here and be a #1 receiver you are seriously mistaken. He was the 4th best option on his team led by the greatest QB this game has ever seen. They had 4 receivers over a thousand yards. Decker is good, but he is not a number one. He is a role player. Nicks just can't stay healthy but Nicks is the better receiver out of the two. If I had to pick one it would be Nicks. Then draft a receiver in the 1st or 2nd, resign Ginn and keep Smitty. Hopefully Smitty will restructure.

Are you saying you would or would not dress like that to address the media?

I didn't write that correctly. I'm saying that there is no way I would dress the way Kaepernick does while conducting a press conference. It's very unprofessional
