The whole Broncos team dissapeared in the SB. Thomas had 13 rec but was not a factor all game. Seattle just came to play that day.
89 willl briing toughness but his days of being a 100 yds guy each week are over. He had "one" game of 70 yds+ this past season and that came in the Playoff. If Jerry Rice's (the best receiver to ever play this game) production can come to an end, 89 certainly could and it has.
His game was always based on his speed which certainly isnt there anymore. Hes a no3 wr today. Hes not going to demand double coverages or the no1 corner on him anymore.
No team right now will take 89 over Decker. Thats just the truth. Believe it or not.
The best thing is take a paycut, let Gman bring in help, and move to the slot.
If he was still playing at a level Reggie Wayne is, then yea maybe we could call that a "high level". 89 clearly looked like an old man on the field last season.
Smitty sure did run by Frisco's fastest CB for a touchdown in the playoffs last year. I agree he has lost a step with age, but he still has it and is still better than Decker. Decker being a number one receiver is a joke. He's a product of the system, the QB, and the surplus of weapons on the Denver offense.
