#1850139 Legal question. Rental Car Company.

This actually happened to me as well. As someone mentioned above they have to prove damages to sue. There is no way they can prove loss of use damages so they will not sue. Contact your insurance agent as well just to see what they say.

Great stuff. The lucky children coming of age during the Cam era hopefully will have a long string of playoff teams to watch. When I came of that age I was a Dolphin fan when they had Greise, Csonka, Morris and the no name D. I got spoiled.

There is a ring somewhere near Vale NC (I know this becuase my wife's family lives out there) it is sat out in a field that is 90% red clay with wal mart metal chairs all around it. There is also a house near there that has a Texas Longhorn chained up in one of those metal garages with no sides along with a turkey with a rope around its neck in there with him.I was thinking I could promote this fight and get the venue cheap. If I get the turkey and Longhorn out there near the road that would draw traffic. Throw in a local high school cheerleader team washing cars and we are talking big money. Im talking going all out with hand painted signs on plywood-the works man.

#1643749 Pats fans reactions

Posted by pawsandclaws on 06 February 2012 - 12:01 AM

Just looked at the Patriots forum (not trolling just reading) and here was a few threads:
Wes Welker cost us the game. Dump him.
Tom Brady cost us the game. Time to draft a new QB.
The defense cost us the game. Blow the whole team up.

Now I realize emotions run high after a SB loss and our forum would probably be no better but is still crazy some of the reactions from people. Never mind your team would not even be in SB without Brady and Welker. They almost won it too at the end....A healthy Gronk may have made that rebound catch in the endzone. I can only hope we get so jaded with success to make such nutty statements.

#1582280 Funny Christmas stories

Posted by pawsandclaws on 25 December 2011 - 03:52 PM

My Mom invited my family down for Xmas a couple of years ago and she cannot cook a lick so I was kind of surprised when I heard she was cooking a big 16 lb turkey and all the trimmings. She tries very hard but evidently my Mom did not get the "cooking" gene.

She remarried a few years ago and married a wealthy retired doctor so they have this gorgeous kitchen-commercial model on everything. Anyway, we arrived at 10 AM or so and I just casually asked my Mom what time she put the turkey in that morning. She said "well about an hour ago". I asked are we eating supper instead of lunch? Well that pissed her off....

So I just told her there is no way a turkey that size gets done in 3 hours. Well she decided that she would cut off the top of the breast meat and cook that so we could eat. She gets her husband in there and for some reason they decide to....

Stick 2 forks on either side of the turkey and lift it from the pan it is in and carry it over the kitchen to a nearby counter. I interjected "Why don't you just take it pan and all?" They act like do not hear me and proceed with this grand plan.

They pull it out and immediately blood and turkey fat and organs are all over the damn kitchen floor on its way over to the counter. My Step Dad is in his socks so now his socks look like something in a murder scene from a movie. I jump in and wade through this salmonella pool to help cut the turkey up. When I start to cut the breast top off it has ice crystals in it.
"When did you lay this out I asked?" "Yesterday" was the reply.

So that makes her madder when she sees me start laughing and asks my Step Dad to go get a mop. Well he does and when he hits the highly polished wood floor he BUSTS HIS A** and lands in the rest of the blood and guts. It covered him from head to toe.

We eventually got enough turkey off to cook a meal but her dressing was so dry you could blow it like sand off the top. True POO story...

#1564445 Pompous People

Posted by pawsandclaws on 13 December 2011 - 08:02 PM

I had lunch with a potential client today and he had to run an errand at the bank so I rode along as I bank at the same branch he does and figured I would make a deposit while there as well.

Now this guy is worth millions I know but when he gets up to the counter the poor teller asks for his ID to cash a check. No kidding he looks at her dead in the eye and says "Do you know who I am?" He then proceeds to tell her that the bank should do a much better job of educating them on their bigger commercial customers.

Back in the car he he told me "do you believe that?' I responded" no I didn't, I can't believe you acted like that-what are they supposed to do hang a picture of major customers in each teller window?" I don't care if I don't get his business...he would be too much of a pain in the a** anyway.

Any other stories like this out there?

#1556828 Meery Christmas to Me and the Huddle

Posted by pawsandclaws on 09 December 2011 - 05:35 PM

Just wanted you guys to know I have received the best Christmas gift anyone could ever get a few weeks ago. In late March I was diagnosed with a Stage 4 rare type of cancer. The doctors basically told me to get my affairs in order but they would do chemo and see what happened. They put my chances at less than 10% to see Christmas. 4 weeks ago my PET scan showed zero cancer anywhere. Docs were amazed. Miracles do happen.

What does this have to do with you guys? I was never a big forum poster on anything but was and always have been a big Pro football fan. Most years I would attend 2-3 Panther games with all my buds. I found this forum on my IPAD during Chemo and started reading it and lurking. Some of the posts made me horse laugh and took my mind off what was happening so I decided to join in the fun. There are a LOT of funny posters on here (I am a big fan of sarcasm).

Even the guys you all love to hate like TRD and PFFL have grains of truth in what they say and keep the board interesting and fresh. I keep out of it for the most part but loved to see the various comebacks.

At any rate I wanted you all to know this forum has provided entertainment and laughs to someone who sorely needed it. When my wife was by my side in Chemo she would ask....whats so funny? It was you guys.

Sorry for the length of this post but wanted to make a point that take NOTHING for granted, hug your kids and pet your dog.

PLEASE DO NOT PIE me on this post. I prefer to earn it!

Thanks guys and Merry Christmas to all of you.........

#1552274 Cam Volunteered at a Food Bank Today

Posted by pawsandclaws on 06 December 2011 - 02:58 PM

100% correct.

Don't know why this is some sort of contest, both of them, like many NFL players, are giving back to the community and that's all that matters.

Keep it up Cam!

OP just mentioned that Cam was doing some volunteer work at a local charity. Cam plays for the Panthers and you know....uh...this board is for Panther related news and discussions. YOU brought up Matt Moore.....who plays for the Dolphins. It seems no one thought it was a contest but YOU.

#1546533 Your most embarrassing sports or life moment

Posted by pawsandclaws on 03 December 2011 - 07:17 PM

when I made my college debut, coach sent me in to essentially do whatever I could to get the other team's big man to foul out. So I played him real hard and within seconds of entering the game, he fouled me hard.

Playing highschool ball at a real small school...getting up to the line to shoot free throws at the college level was a little different...I air balled the first shot like a 7 year old girl!!! I was rather embarrased for sure. Missed the 2nd shot too, but it hit the board/rim

Yeah thats pretty bad....and in basketball there is no helmet to hide in either!
