I just watched a vid at nfl.com. It was said that Claiborne is one of six elite athletes in this draft, and therefore he will not fall past the Rams. http://www.nfl.com/v..._content_stream

To answer the question. Its hard to say he's better than Revis and DRC. Also, Prince, not Prine.
At this point, don't even know if he's better than Peterson.

If he as good as advertised, he won't be there at 9.
Trump them how? He hasn't played a down.
  • I think Claiborne is as impressive as those guys were when they were in college but we'd have to see Claiborne play in the NFL before we can really compare them.
I think he is as good a prospect as Joe Haden was.. I remember Joe Haden ran a poor 40 time at the combine, then redeemed himself at his proday.. identical to Claiborne. They are both elite in coverage. I don't remember Revis as a prospect.. did not pay attention to that position because CB wasn't a need back then.
Style wise, I'd like to compare him to Joe Haden out of those players. Both great play makers and have great ball skills.

Personally I think he is a better corner than Patrick Peterson.

And speaking of Haden, Janoris always seemed like the better corner at UF when they played together.
Claiborn and Kirkpatrick are basically Peterson and Amukamara of last year. With the exception there are 2 or 3 more good CBs in this draft. Honesty I would be happy with either and both will be impact players in the right situations.
I'd rate him in the middle of that pack of players, most scouts have him rated lower the PP7 from last draft.

His style is comparable to Haden as he's a coverage guy, but his skillset and athletic ability move him into the middle of that pack.

Not too sure about that. I believe Claiborne and Janoris are the top two CBs (Jenkins could have been the top CB taken if it wasn't for his past).

To each his own. Like I said there are some really good CBs in this draft. I just think Kirkpatrick is above him with his size and his tackling ability.
Think I would have to say Claiborne resembles DRC the most. As for Kirkpatrick, he's always been one of my favorite prospects mostly because of how much he reminds me of Chris Gamble. I'd love fore Chris to be able to mentor Dre.

Agreed and there is a reason that the Panthers have not interviewed any CBs. Its cause they dont want to show there hand on who they like the most. Either that or they are happy with Capt. and I hope thats not the case...

Yea, it's doubtful that Claiborne falls to them. There really isn't another CB worth taking at 9, so they would most likely target one in the second round. Either that or they like Hogan to be the starter...

Kirkpatrick in my mind is just as good of a prospect as Claiborn. I could def see us drafting him at the 9 spot even before the idea of Claiborne falling to us came up.
Why is Eric Berry not on this list 2010 #5 draft pick? He had an awesome rookie year 4 ints a pro bowl...
I think Berry is a Safety.
Yeah Berry is a free safety.

On topic, I think he's a better cover guy than Peterson(coming out of college). Think he's similar to Haden the most coming out of College.
lol, brain fart. I had Berry on my mind
I want a Berry on our a team a healthy Berry.
PP sucked in coverage in college and sucks in the NFL, he's a great return man but a worse than mediocre coverage corner at this point in his career. Claiborne has been a lockdown cover corner in college and is much more polished in that respect than PP ever thought about being.

If they didn't wanna show who they like most they would more likely interview everyone.

Or none at all...

Would make more sense to interview everyone so you get info instead of drafting without any.
We still have a month before the draft. Probably shouldn't get hung up on who we have and have not brought in.
Claiborne as a prospect is as good as any of them.

Kirk is more Malcolm and janoris is more Haden IMO.

If not for off field issues, I'd take janoris over Claiborne.
