  1. There's every possibility that the Panthers spoke with Stevens' agent before the draft including money. There's nothing wrong with that. Or it could be that the agent was throwing out figures to the Saints to get as much for his client as he could without having talked money with the Panthers. That's his job. Payton's the a-hole for publicly bragging and the Saints got caught. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/05/02/panthers-deny-in-draft-deal-with-tommy-stevens/
  2. I so totally agree with you. Sean Payton and his ego are exactly why I hate the Saints so much. I do feel sorry for Tommy Stevens. He'll lose the most from all of this in the end. But DAMN folks!! You're missing the whole point here. JOE BRADY HAS ALREADY GOTTEN UNDER PAYTON'S SKIN. So much so in fact that he had to publicly brag about it and get the team in trouble with the NFL by admitting that he negotiated and talked UDFA $$$ during the draft. Maybe the Panthers did too, they claim they didn't, but if you're the agent wouldn't you throw out there some figures as if the Panthers had (even if they hadn't) to get the most for your client? I would. You're not doing your job if you don't. And we haven't even played a game yet. Or stepped onto the turf. I'm loving it!! https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/05/02/panthers-deny-in-draft-deal-with-tommy-stevens/
  3. So sorry. If sportsurge acts up, try the website abc.com. That for sure will be free but no Trey Wingo lol.
  4. Use the ESPN app. The draft is free on it and their website.
  5. Her name, dipshit, is Kristen Balboni. She seemed to have history with Tillman in Chicago; he called her KB. You forgot to list Coach Ruhle.
  6. We'll field a team only if we have WR's and lineman willing to play both sides and special teams.
  7. https://thehill.com/policy/finance/493779-irs-says-social-security-recipients-with-children-must-take-action-to-ensure The IRS web tool. https://www.irs.gov/ Surprise! If you get Social Security or railroad retirement benefits and have children that qualify, you need to give the IRS that information to get all your stimulus money now.
  8. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001110044/article/12-teams-begin-virtual-offseason-programs-today This gets me almost as excited as the draft. Starting to put in the work.
  9. Sorry about counting Smith. The number we're left with from last year is 14. And I was simply counting bodies lol, not considering talent, although I agree with your assessment. We've added Weatherly (DE), Burris (S), Whitehead (LB), Kerr (DT) which brings the number of bodies to 18 and this includes any practice squad players we signed to a contract in January. So just counting bodies we're about 10 short with 8 draft picks in hand. The class of undrafted FA's this year is supposed to be deep but it's very rare to hit on a gem like Hoover or Norwell. I'm afraid this will lead to Hurney picking for position need and not BPA. And it will all leave our defense (and special teams) for years without the talent a good NFL defense needs to win.
  10. I shouted "Thank you!" and waved at the guys picking up my recycles this week. They waved back. Don't pie me. I hadn't said anything face to face with anybody since April 2nd and I needed that as much as they did.
  11. To make the list even longer, we've also lost Addison, Love, Elliot, Gaulden, Jones, Smith (Andre). That's a total of 15 players. We had 28 defensive players on the 2019 roster including the practice squad. Which leaves us with 13 players on our defense now. That is both scary and sad.
  12. Oh lordy. If you people can't learn from recent history, I just don't know what to tell ya. Because the NBA tried all that. Playing games without live audiences. Testing everyone. And guess what happened? One player tested positive and the season was shut down. Shut down! Because all the other players and coaches, etc. refused to take the chance to be exposed to COVID-19, for themselves and their families. All the money in the world and consistent testing did not save the NBA season. It won't save the NFL season either.
  13. Here's the way I look at it. It plays out to CMC being a Panther for 6 more years. Rhule has a 7 year contract. Now McCaffery is to Rhule as Newton was to Rivera. One of the top players in the NFL to help stabilize the team. We haven't seen the details yet so we can't tell how team friendly it is but it is definitely head coach friendly. And that's not a bad thing at all.
  14. Do you have a picture of what the inside (face contact) side looks like? Is there a slit to insert filters if someone wanted to? Nothing on the indiegogo page addresses these questions. Ankara cloth is 100% cotton and, yes, they are washable.
  15. Will they have tests for COVID-19 in time for the on-field practices? I can't imagine that anyone would feel safe without testing.
  16. I couldn't find it on YouTube. But I got this post from Facebook Watch. If you want to email or text the link, click Share in the upper right, then click Copy Link. Paste that link in the email or text. It'll render just like a YouTube video. For those who may not be able to copy the link for whatever reason: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=362687604692144
  17. It is played after games when we win, only when we win. And 24 years ago the crowd was - honestly - surprised when we did win. It has become synonymous with a Panthers victory. There is a tremendous amount of emotion and joy and pride that goes with the Panthers playing that song in that stadium. Everyone in the stadium sings at least parts of it. If you haven't been to a home game win in person, you need to add it to your bucket list.
  18. Luke could be as successful as Romo in the booth. IMO if Romo didn't have Nantz as a partner from the beginning he would be far from successful. Nantz drew him out, asking questions, and gave him space to talk. In Romo's first couple of games he was dry and uncomfortable. Luke with the right partner would be just as good. And who says Luke doesn't have personality, especially a good sense of humor? Ah, the good ole days.
  19. It's a shout out to healthcare heroes. Show your support to those on the frontline by making noise every Friday at 7 pm
  20. If you didn't file income taxes or don't get Social Security or Supplemental Security Income or Veterans Affairs benefits, there's now a way to give the IRS your information for the coronavirus rebate. YOU DO NOT NEED A BANK ACCOUNT TO USE THE IRS PORTAL. A lot of those that don't file taxes also don't have bank accounts. You will need an email address. More questions answered on the website. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here
  21. Pretty much a sunshine article. "Let's make it all sound good." I take this comment he had for Judge as also suited to Rhule: But there’s going to be a learning curve ... and a team that’ll be relying on young guys in key spots.
  22. I have no expectations at all. I see a Chris Weinke type of season coming up. Or worse. What I don't want to see is lineman on both sides running into each other or WR's running the same route or Safeties woefully out of position and my usually optimistic mind can see all of that happening with totally new schemes and language and none of the advantage new coaching staffs are usually given. Teams with established coaches can at least count on carry over from the previous season for the majority of their players. "Coach wants me to see it this way, not that way," "Omaha! means this," etc. We have none of that, nada, zilch, nothing. So what are they doing to offset this? And the one thing I learned this off season is to not trust any words coming from the organization.
  23. Let me start by saying that I hate what they did to Cam and Reid and Olson. I'm also feeling that they wouldn't have kept Kuechly either if he hadn't retired. That's history, it's done. And I don't think they have any step up on the NFL's college scouts for the draft. Everybody watched the same games, went to the same combine. The rest is just blah-blah-blah. BTW does our new HC have braces? With blue bands? Especially with missing the April 6th offseason workout programs for new coaches, what I want to know is what are they doing to get the players, all new to Rhule and his staff, ready for the season? You can't have a culture without a team and, seriously, right now they have men signed to contracts but they don't have a team. Have Brady and Snow sent playbooks? How often do they zoom with them? Do they have virtual meetings or one on one? Is the NFL or NFLPA allowing anything like this? I'm afraid that without any of the usual early physical, face to face, meetings and practices, especially with a new coaching staff from the college ranks, we're gonna fall flat on our face.
  24. If they did, I didn't hear it. But my timeline guess is that if they announced it on Saturday, they already had the servers and network nodes needed (hardware) in house and connected by Saturday. Software and security installed and testing on Sunday, maybe Monday. Network/internet testing on Monday, Tuesday. Hopefully they don't run into any problems but also don't rush into it so they can go live by Wednesday. And that's with IT working 24/7.
