Mr. Scot

Ownership bidders back down to three

Recommended Posts

Basically still not "officially official" and if the team or the league were to announce it and then have something fall through at the last minute (yes that can happen) then they all look bad.

Once the official word is out, I honestly think the vote will just be a formality. Everybody will have made their minds up by then and the NFL will know whether he's gonna pass or not.

I would be happy with either guy. Tepper is my guy, but i think Navarro would be good for the team too.

YES! I think im one of the few who love this idea. Construct the stadium so the 50 yard line is on the state line just like at Carowinds lol.

I do hope they keep it an outdoor stadium, but i think the funding would come easy. Having a 1/3 contribution from the team/owner and each state would make it easy. Think about it... AT&T Stadium was constructed for 1.3 billion, Mercedes Benz Stadium for 1.6 billion. if we assume a 1.5 billion figure for a new stadium, thats only half a billion from each party.

maybe im an idealist. but you NC Panthers fans that complain about SC fans would get a chance to see how fervent we are/n't based on our eagerness to chip into the pot.

I think the best thing about getting Navarro would be his age. He's 55. No need to worry about this process for another 30 years hopefully.

Navarro has stated a preference for an open air stadium.

Gotta figure a stadium without a roof is probably cheaper, especially if you're talking about something retractable.

One other thing you might be able to infer from this: Navarro might just care more about the quality of the product than the revenue it can generate.

(which is conceivably why the other owners might prefer Tepper)

I wonder how many PSL's have been bought in the last 3 years. Those folks are screwed. I laugh everytime I see one posted for sale on facebook by some auction site.

One thing I will look closely at is whether the team continues to sell PSLs for BOA and at what point they discontinue the practice.

Psls are here to stay. Most all teams do them now

There is a reason that two states one team is on the hat and not keep pounding. Getting people ready I think.

I'm not a big fan of Tepper and his tactics. Jerry Richardson was not about the money and ran the Panthers as good as any owner. Tepper seems to me to be a guy that would use moving the team to force the city to except any demand. Navarro not so much.

Bersin does have a home in Mt. Pleasant.

How would you know this? lol. At first, I was thinking it was Mt. Pleasant, NC. Then, I saw that there is an Mt. Pleasant, SC. I have a feeling Bersin will be coach in the future.

Footnote: Katie Peralta and Rick Rothacker reporting there's a possibility some current minority owners could stay attached, which would likely lower the overall price that the new owner would have to pay up front.

Panthers Sale: Some of Charlotte's richest families may be in for a bg payday

It's generally believed that Navarro would have a smaller ownership group than Richardson did.  Tepper, of course, could buy it all on his own if he wanted to (which apparently he doesn't).

So the tenant who was living in my house before I bought it was a guy named Willie Korn. He played qb for Clemson while Bersin was at Wofford. Apparently they're friends

Agree but if a new stadium is in the works the team will at some point stop selling them for the old stadium.
