"Because [Tepper is] something of a blank slate," La Canfora said. "Lot of these guys like living in the South. It's cheaper, you can raise your family well. You can be kind of a rock star there but not be swarmed like you would if you're talking New York. Drew Brees has a year or two left. Atlanta is going to pay Matt Ryan $45 million just in 2019 to be the 11th or 12th best QB in the league. All that's happening. Tampa's going to fire their coach again.

Wouldn't be shocking. The Packers franchise is definitely far more prestigious than the Panthers, but I agree with a lot of the points they made as to why a lot of coaches would see Carolina > GB. It's also worth noting that the Packers fired their LB coach today for posting a tweet that seemed to take a shot at Rodgers' leadership abilities. Despite the media takes on the two, a lot of coaches may see Cam as the more coachable QB. Rodgers said all the right things about McCarthy after he was fired but there was way too much smoke about a rift between those two for there not to be at least some fire there.

huh? if a superbowl in the next 4 years isn't a requirement, why the hell fire rivera?

also, develop cam newton?

what more is there to develop?

The next Packers coach will be expected to deliver a Super Bowl in the next four years. Carolina would like the same, but it isn't a job requirement -- compete every year, be aggressive and develop Cam Newton and see where the cards fall.

They need to develop the narrative that it's Cam's fault the Panthers suck before they even get a new head coach

Is Cam a better QB than Flacco, Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Hostetler or Eli?

yes, next

What’s holding him back? First it was Shula so we got Norv then lack of weapons and we have an all world rb and fast wideouts  now it’s ron. So under what scenario would we win with cam?

I like the line, "What we're getting for three hours on Sunday should be better than this,".  Sums up the situation.  And the blank slate situation is rare and should attract a group of coaches we'd probably never get with the previous owner.

They were game managers who didn’t turn it over in big games Maybe that’s what we need and just let our weapons do the work?
