Center Matt Paradis to Carolina/$27mm/3 years/$13.5mm guaranteed

Recommended Posts

Injury was a broken fibula that happened late in the season (November).

Leg injuries are rough on big men, but the fact that it's a bone injury rather than a torn ligament or some such makes me feel a lot better.

Word is that his rehab was going well, though apparently not well enough in the eyes of the Broncos to make him a better offer. Here's hoping we're right and they're wrong.

The fact that he hasn't signed yet certainly seems to indicate that his market is different than what he was expecting.

Yeah I just don’t want to see him sign for 7mil a year type deal. I’d hope we’d offer a 1 yr deal worth 7-10 mil with incentives to push it to 10-12 mil overall

Paradis broke his fibula last November and placed on IR. He could have returned if Denver made the playoffs. Denver has a replacement that is on a rookie contract. Not considered that serious and he started 57 games before the injury.

I don't know about anybody else, but when it comes to injuries to limbs, I'd rather hear broken bone than some sort of sprained or torn soft tissue injury.  Bones usually do a good job of mending and returning to normal.

as long as it's not a femur long bone breaks are fine. far better than some nagging foot bone that never heals.

hope this works out better than the last time hurney signed the top center on the market...

Would be amazing if Williams doesn’t get any better offers and we retain him and release kalil

Stop, I can't allow myself to want again. D:

Very good signing.  I like Paradis a lot and think he will help us out tremendously with the good kalil gone.

Those worried about his injury...  FWIW, he was on Good Morning Football on NFLN this morning and said he is ahead of schedule.  I want to say that he said he's expected to be cleared for the summer.  They showed him doing some resistance work and running steps already.

I'm ecstatic!

What can our local cap experts tell us about this? Good or bad?

Some of them say that DWill isn't worth top 10 OT money because he is coming off of a leg injury but are in this thread applauding this move :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

(it's a good move, just funny how it's ok for Paradis but not DWill)

Torn ligament vs broken bone

2 different injuries

Though still makes me a little nervous

Bene Benwikere wasnt the same after breaking his leg.  Different position but still
