Pretty sure they don’t show that type of stuff in the media portion of practice. It’s mostly just stretching and light individual drills.

I think in-house guys like Voth and Henson get to stick around for the whole thing, but I could be wrong about that.

 No word on Donte?

Donte Jackson (groin) appeared to be a full participant as well.

I still can't believe we thought Darryl Williams could start at left tackle.

I can't believe that I still get surprised when we make horrific OL depth chart decisions. It's so commonplace.

Seriously, I say there's no chance that DW will trot out at starting LT next Sunday but honestly there probably is a very real risk of that happening.

Nobody thought it was a bad idea until it proved to be a bad idea.

I know, right?  He’s not even left handed

What? Plenty of us talked about DW being a terrible fit at LT before it happened.

He had been tried there once before and looked out of his element. I remember Igo talking about it specifically.

This board spent years wanting him at LT. He played it for 2. 5 games because the guy drafted was in the concussion protocol and the other was a 6th round pick getting reps at guard and RT primarily. It just might take a little time to get these rookies ready you know.

Other players take years to grow in to their spots. A few games isn't too much to ask for.

I think you're mis-remembering. The board has spent years wanting Moton at LT.

I can remember maybe one or two guys that talked about Williams at LT, but that's it. And they generally got shut down.

I think you forget that people wanted the same from Williams before Moton was on the team.

I definitely don't recall it. Maybe it's because I always thought that DW's skill set was never remotely suited to playing LT.

I don't either, but I'll admit that back during the Kalil days you probably could have found people that wanted Greg Olsen to play left tackle.

Mr. Scot, I would’ve sacrificed my body to play LT during those days if I got what Matt Khalil was getting.  I wouldn’t have been good.  But I would’ve put the effort in... which is unfortunately more than I can say for Matt on many occasions

edit: I used to be a guy who kept asking myself “how does everyone keep misspelling “Kalil”?  Then I just got autocorrected.  Joke’s on me

Understood.

As to Kalil, I wouldn't say he "sacrificed" his body, but he certainly trusted it a lot more than he should have.

Unfortunately, so did we.

Based on his rookie year, I believe he could have been good, but he got derailed by injuries he just never recovered from.
