Even if you move him where do you go from there?

You've got over a hundred milllion tied up in linebackers on a bottom defense.

Who is going to be the QB? Dont say Kyle Allen.

Yeah... I can't believe we put so much into that position. This franchise can't get out of its own way

We do what the people who are just so, so angry that Cam isn't winning games by himself want and go 0-16 for Trevor Lawrence

Two years left on Luke’s contract. So it’s not really 100 million. But this raises the question if Luke is gonna be given another contract. Next year is when we would start talks about an extension. I know people don’t wanna hear this but we might not extend Luke or he might retire or we might try to trade him. I agree that if we extend Luke that is way too much money to give linebackers.

i really am thinking this might be a total rebuild and we move on from Cam and Luke within these next two year which really sucks and is sad we squandered their talents.

but based on Tepper talking about looking at this from a future perspective it might take 4 or 5 years. That doesn’t seem to include Cam or Luke based on their ages.

He will be 30 in the final year of his contract. I fear 2020 may be it for Luke as a Carolina Panther. Sucks but that's the nature of the NFL. There are few fairy tale endings.

Sounds like an opinion piece.

however on one hand, based on Teppers comments about letting RR go early So everyone knows the Panthers are in the hunt for a HC gives transparency to the NFL. This at least ensures we don’t miss out on interviewing anyone. In Cams situation, it gives all teams interested in Cams services enough time to put together a package to trade for him.

on the other hand, if you weren’t planning to trade Cam, how is he supposed to react going into the season in a contract year?  *spoiler* he would hold out.

So we're going to save 18 million dollars on Cam, but spend 16 million dollars on Shaq Thompson

No matter how hurt Cam is, in which reality is Shaq Thompson worth 89% as much money as Cam Newton

Yup. It’s why when I saw we signed shaq my first thought was damn that might be it for Luke. We had a window with Cam and Luke. We almost won a super bowl with them. If you look at talented core’s around the league they usually have a window of about 2 maybe 3 years to win it all before everything resets due to cap, age, coaching, etc.

we wasted HOF talent because this organization couldn’t find good coaching or general managers to match with them. It fuging sucks.

    • I’m pulling for the Chiefs, but feel the Niners are a more complete team.
    • Bernie's talk on the economy is a mirror image of Dr. King's. did you hear what he said at the last debate when grilled on calling himself a socialist? he said the same thing King did, that people like Trump have always had socialism. that we've given billionaires handouts, tax breaks, and everything in between and they've enjoyed all the fruits that go along with a system that works for them, while those at the bottom toil and suffer. "The problem is that we all too often have socialism for the rich and rugged free enterprise capitalism for the poor. That’s the problem. " - MLK i absolutely understand that you would like to hear more talk specifically about black people from him rather than a catch-all of 'the poor' or 'the working class.' that's reasonable and it's one thing i would change about his campaign. even though it's a term that keeps getting used, to me this is really not about 'a rising tide lifts all ships,' this is not about making everyone rich. we're not going to elect bernie and suddenly capitalism is all better and we're all millionaires who rose with the tide. to me it's about economic justice, and racial justice, which are inextricably linked. all of these things are linked to Bernie too, which is why some people get frustrated when he can't just focus on race. bring up race to him and he'll talk about it for a bit, then he'll talk about climate change, and he'll talk about billionaires, and he'll talk about etc etc. because he sees the systemic racism that America undeniably has as a symptom of its overarching disease that he wants to cure. i'm glad you are moving left, it's funny how that saying 'as you get older you get more conservative' has been totally flipped in the past decade. i barely know anybody who isn't more left than they were years ago. i think people seeing how Obama ended up a pretty corporate centrist when we thought he was going to change everything pushed people that way.
    • I mean Smitty asked us to retire it, so I’m in favor of that, but I like the way you’re thinking here.
