Of course they tanked for Luck. Wouldn't be so obvious if they didn't have so many 10+ win seasons in a row, only to go 2-14, get the qb they wanted and then go about their winning ways again... especially impressive when you consider they had to carry Luck his rookie year, with him turning the ball over left and right.

Bingo. And dont even get me started on the joke that is called the NBA draft, WWE storylines are more real than the joke that is the NBA draft "lottery"

No disrespect, I'm genuinely curious. Why do you dislike Cam Newton so thoroughly?

I'm the biggest Cam Newton fan. I wouldn't trade him for any other QB.

Just tired of seeing anything to do with Luck downplayed, disregarded, or credit given to every Colt but him. He is having a great sophomore season.

This year? Yeah our defense is elite. Last year and the year before? Ha! Did you not forget that our defense cost us four late leads.

Again... point? I don't view Luck as a precision passer anyways. He's a good passer but he'll never be any of those QBs. Ryan is more cerebral and methodical than Luck for christ's sake. I don't care how you slice it. You know when you see a Peyton or a Brees or a Rodgers just like you know when you see a Favre or a Cutler or a Roethlisberger right from the start. Cam, for instance, is a gunslinger. He'll never be a precision passer. Neither will Luck.

Luck is absolutely playing much better this year but he's not carrying The Colts.

Guys who have played against Cam disagree. They say he has excellent accuracy.

The Colts were the worst team in the NFL without Luck. The Colts are a top 5 team with Luck.

The Panthers were the worst team in the NFL without Cam. The Panthers still suck with Cam.

You forgot that part, bro.

so being in contention for a wildcard spot = sucking? Hmmm

Luck is 16-7 as a starter. Cam is 16-22.

Luck beat Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver; arguably the 3 best teams in the NFL.

Newton beat the 1-10 NYG/Vikings.

I think Cam in the AFC east would have a similar success rate with the same colts team.

I think Luck would be watching our defense allowing last second scores just the same.

Luck is without question the more refined passer of the two but the seperation between Luck and Newton is 1A and 1C.

40% of the huddle would rather scrap 1C to draft another guy closer to Clausen than Cam...go figure.

To turn this back to ESPN for a moment, if I may.....According to ESPN, Mike Tolbert was traded to the Atlanta Falcons.

Rams defensive end Eugene Sims tackled Atlanta Falcons running back Mike Tolbert in the end zone for a safety.

I think that ESPN hates that they can't carry our games because of our agreement with Fox Network. They never show us in a favorable light during any of the very brief game previews of us they show. Even then they only mention how the other team lost, not what we did to win.

I think he may be the reincarnation of TRD

This isn't a dig at Cam. Our boy is plenty accurate with the ball but he'll never have stats like these throughout five straight games:

31/40 for 514 yards; 4 TDs

29/35 for 475 yards; 3 TDs

30/37 for 369 yards; 3 TDs

25/39 for 401 yards; 5 TDs

33/46 for 344 yards; 4 TDs

Cam is who Cam is, and I'm okay with him being a very good gunslinger.

Key numbers:

40

35

37

39

46

If you don't think the Colys tanked with Painter you need to remember who their owner is. They had a plan.

We just drafted Cam kept everything else the same and hoped for the best. O yea we downgraded our coach

And we didn't tank? Lol

People give the Colts too much credit for being this great ran team ala New England.

1) Very few players from the Manning playoff era are on that team.

2) Colts are a shitty franchise. They wasted Peyton's career and never built a team around him. They had a dominant D one season, and they won a Super Bowl that year. He had to carry abysmal defenses most of his career.

Cam might not be the best young QB in the NFL, but I'd like to see how RGIII, Wilson, Luck, etc. would fare with a dunce like Shula as their OC and QB coach beforehand.

So your saying the colts kept their good young talent while adding more good young talent help Luck while the Panthers kept the same 2-14 team and just added a qb? Really I wonder who had the better season. Luck is good but Cam has outplayed him not only on the ground but through the air as well.

Luck had a worst rookie season than Cam but made the playoffs it ain't too hard to figure out folks.

I've already said Cam's first two seasons were better than Luck's rookie year.

But this year Luck has played better by a slight margin.
