  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, that probably matters for 2-3 games of the season. If that is the difference between anything significant happening in your season or not, perhaps your team just wasn't very good? I don't think we will agree on this subject. I just generally view this as fairly insignificant.
  3. I estimate a two year deal with them buying his RFA year. And his agent not wanting to lock him in for longer.
  4. There is a point there. I think it is also fair to recognize that Belichick failed to develop a successor. With ample time over all those seasons. It reinforces the school of thought that a lot of the success is due to who your QB is. No matter how good a defensive mind you are.
  5. Ah, we have the core of the issue. Someone not using their brain and just simply looking at the league rules. The dumbing down of humanity keeps increasing.
  6. I have no problem signing him long term this offseason, but it would be in that 6.5-7M a year range
  7. It’s clear. If you sit out and don’t accrue you go into the next season at the same level almost like the sit out year never happened. There’s no loophole to UFA after two accrued seasons.
  8. Yeah a returner with 74 catches, 1207 receiving yards and 7 TD's in his career at the point he was named a Pro Bowler. But since you don't think that matters, he was also a first team All Pro that season, as well. You can dig this hole as deep as you want but I have no idea what the point of this is for you. Just to be as wrong as possible as many times as possible? This is literally much ado about nothing.
  9. When people mentioned reasonable deals for a player in his position, you started talking about him holding out. What would he be holding out for? That's it, top league wideout money. Because that is what's next after Shaheed and the mid-level contracts that people suggested. To which you again replied about holding out. I jokingly sent a friend the video of Coker's dad dancing in the stands during the playoff game talking about how negotiations are going to be difficult. In actuality, they're not at all. And he's not going to hold out or he's going to get embarrassed.
  10. Which is why he’s a Panther for 2 more years at a fixed price with not much he can do.
  11. Actually upon further review it not actually clear what would happen. Google AI (I know) says “it may” lead them to being an ERFA again.
  12. Right because the CBA doesn’t have loopholes like that. It’s why people who sit out always come back to make sure the get the accrued year otherwise they are right back where they started. An ERFA can’t afford to miss most of the year as they are trying to look good for an extension.
  13. I got interested here because of Ricky Williams. Does Ricky Williams even have a case for the HOF? I had never considered him as a candidate. I looked it up. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WillRi00.htm He had one killer season. 1800+ rushing yards. Did break 1000 yards rushing I think 5 times. 4 times in his first 5 years, only once in the 6 years afterwards. Pretty pedestrian numbers for season totals a few of those later years. I say no he wouldn’t get in herb or no herb, but I learned something. I did not realize he played for 11 years (with one full year suspension sandwiched in there). I had him in my mind as like a 7 or eight year player.
  14. UFA's are players with four or more accrued seasons and an expired contract per NFL rules. Also, holding out means Coker does not accrue any more time, also per NFL rules. He is indeed correct that he would be an ERFA. This is why you don't see hold outs. The rules literally don't allow it to work at all. It would be career poison. https://operations.nfl.com/inside-football-ops/nfl-operations/nfl-free-agency/types-of-free-agents/
  15. As a returner. and are you really bringing up pro bowls like that matters
  16. If you sit out a year and don’t have 3 years accrued you are an ERFA again. It’s that simple. There’s no way there’s a loophole that you are an UFA after 2 years accrued and you skip RFA year when you have 3 accrued seasons.
  17. Lol. I am pretty sure there has never been an ERFA hold out. It's a completely insane thought to even have. Shaheed was a literal Pro Bowler and didn't do such.
  18. WTF? You think that he hold out and gets unrestricted FA because he hasn’t accrued 3 seasons. What are you smoking? If he holds out in 2026, he’s likely an ERFA in 2027 and an RFA in 2028. Basically loses a whole year of pay. Please point to any example of a guy holding out as an ERFA that got to skip RFA.
  19. Ummm, so who was the talent when Brady was winning with Bryce young stats at the first of his career? Their first playoff run, his only TD pass was in the S. Bowl and he threw for less than 150yds. They beat the Rams in his last S. Bowl win with New England and he didn't even throw a touchdown. He did throw a pick though. I don't know where this stupid narrative came from and I heartily dislike Belicheat, but you can't dismiss him. They had a system, Brady embraced it and was a giant piece, but he had a good coach and some good teams around him.
  20. You’re right about the team not seeming to value him. I mean poo they let him hit waivers and were starting XL for most of the year. maybe he laughed when Canales thought Torrey Lanez was someone from his younger days.
  21. He’d get a much bigger number if he puts together a bigger year in 2026. He’s locked in right now and the only way he gets a bag is by proving himself. He’s got 800 yards in 2 years. He’s under contract with us for 2 more. Do you think his agent is telling him now’s the time to get an extension averaging 30-400-3TDs a year? He was an UDFA, he’ll get what we offer and build up his stats so he can get a much bigger extension in a year or two instead of a crap extension locking him in cheap for 3-4 more years.
