I think a massive amount of the offseason plans are going to be an unknown until we see what happens with the defensive coordinator spot. I just hope we stick to BPA. This is a truly awful roster, let's work on improving that overall.
-
There probably is some truth to that. I think the overwhelming bulk of his problems are between his ears.
-
I would say coaching was a bigger factor, for sure. But Bryce was the biggest reason outside our coaching staff. He just isn't an NFL caliber starting QB. He's a middle of the pack 2nd stringer at his peak.
-
I think it all stems from the lack of physical ability though. Nothing else really matters if you just flat out lack the physical prerequisites. He has issues seeing the field due to his size. He has a bad habit of backpedaling and not stepping uo I. The pocket sue to his size. His arm means he struggles to drive the ball down the field and squeeze it into tight windows. It's very telling that almost all of our pass attempts downfield are purely schemed up and usually come on traditional obvious running downs. We have to try to catch the D selling out against the run to give us a shot to throw deep. It all boils down to a lack if physical tools.

If you can only fire ONE person before 2026....

Oh, I am definitely on board the Jettison Bryce Train but my logic is based on trying to get as many boxes ticked as possible. I think we can all agree the only real chance of getting rid of anyone is likely Evero and that is probably just because he isn't going to resign with us. -
I agree this draft class doesn’t excite me much either If we’re picking in that 14-18 range based on what’s most likely available CB, ILB, TE or even WR make most sense I don’t think Morgan has the time to wait on another edge to develop. I think he goes and grabs a proven one to make an immediate impact They’re really not. Size meaning durability. No one ever thought this dude would be trucking people or breaking tackles in the pocket. People thought he’d get broken in half after taking his first sack/hit He’s one of the better QB’s at avoiding sacks this year
-
Its insanity. Especially after what Canales said sheer insanity
-
I agree, why I said he was fine...not really good or bad. he had poo like Tremble dropping a pass that legit just hits him in the hands. Ultimately, he wasnt why we lost the game, Evero, Canales and the absolute dogshit officiating did that.
-
Truthfully, those really haven't been massive concerns. In fact, I would call them lesser concerns in the overall Bryce Experience.

Panthers Leaders in Missed Tackles
Carolina Cajun replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
yea, agree and a lot of the time he's late to the receiver because Evero has him lined up somewhere behind wendys in some soft weak bullshit zone. -
Our offense mustered 44 yds on 4 drives in the last 24:54 of Sunday's game. It would be very disingenuous to call his game "good." For a "clutch performer" he was the smallest when the lights were the brightest.
-
what?
-
XL is showing he just isn't an NFL WR. If they are smart, they attempt to move him this offseason.
-
Bryce was fine sunday. Not good, not bad, but our defense was awful. Everything is understated because of how LONG drives were that game. The panthers had long time killing drives and the saints had long time killing drives. For reference, I looked it up, average NFL game has about 22-24, meaning each team gets 10-12 drives, for reference though, the panthers had 8 total, and one of those drives came with us having 2 seconds left in the game. The biggest killer was the saints just getting possession after possession that just seemed to last for fuging EVER. they killed us on TOP then made just a few plays at the end. Credit where its due, thats how we beat the Packers and to a lesser extent the Rams. Limit their possessions by just slugging it out and getting a TOP advantage. Its how lesser teams beat better teams and we fell for our own trap.
-
I don't think any premium pass rushers will be available when we pick in the 10-16 range. It is a very good spot to land an elite LB or potentially a great TE. Unless a truly elite TR drops to us, I wouldn't reach for that position. This isn't a very strong class and last year was the year to make that move. It's strange how many mocks I see with us taking a WR or CB.

There was a quick hook last year then they let him come crawling back. Then this year when Bryce missed a game we all saw that Dalton was behind washed. This is why I just want Bryce gone. We need to wash our hands of him. -
Such a dumb pick and most of us knew it Ladd would’ve been the perfect match with Bryce But instead they draft XL to fill the void at the X spot because we had a 34 year old Adam Thielen. Then a year later we draft a real X WR and move XL inside where he has absolutely no business being for a list of reasons

My logic was hopefully a new HC would have a LOT quicker hook for Bryce. But, that is assuming they would even be allowed. I guess that's a call to the owner's box for permission. -
I’m not overly defending the pick. I was team Stroud by a country mile but I also knew what to expect as far as ceiling goes with Bryce I had concerns with Bryce’s arm strength and size. Neither seem to overly be an issue. He’s proven to throw with enough anticipation that he makes up for a lack of velocity. I was worried about the way he played in college not translating to the league. Spending 8 seconds behind LOS. I did also think it would take Young a few years for him to reach his full potential. I also think he’s too smart and accurate to flat out bust which all of seems to be pretty accurate Bryce is someone you can absolutely win with. No one thought he’d be the type to carry a well below average supporting cast to a Super Bowl. He’s fully capable of giving you those 4-5 special plays a game that help your team win. And then you have those rare times where he’s the reason you win like in Atlanta. All good teams have more than just a QB. Even the teams that are winning this year all have a lot more than what we have. Supporting cast/defense… more than what we have As far as Morgan goes I 100% agree. Fwiw he was legit team Bryce during the draft process. I know that for a fact. Last years draft is a complete write off. This past draft still up for debate. TMac and Scourton look solid. I can’t remember the last time I saw Princely win a rep and I’m being honest. Ransom has a little value. I think ETN is a nice insurance add. Evans could be a TE2. I think this offseason Morgan will get aggressive with trying to land a pass rusher. Whether that’s a trade for Crosby, signing Hendrickson, it’s going to be top priority. We need a ILB. I really like Kaden Ellis. Sonny Styles should be in our draft range. We also need a tight end and it would be interesting to see this offseason with Kenyon Sadiq

If I'm picking between sticking with Canales with a new QB or Bryce with a new coach, I'm definitely picking Canales with a new QB simply because we've tried the Bryce with new coach route before. Been there done that. -

I wouldn't deny it would be a bad look. But I do think he has conclusively shown he is a not a good head coach. -
I had someone argue with me the other day that his career had been similar through three seasons of starting. I mean....define "similar." It definitely hasn't been statistically nor results.

It would be bad to fire Canales after the team has improved from absolute trash to winning some games. Especially given our recent history of hirings and firings. I think its smart to give him another year, even if you're not sold on him. Bryce is the next guy who's gotta go. -

On the season his stat line versus NO is: 8 completions on 12 targets, 157 yds, 3 TD's, 0 INT's, 2 Passes Deflected Half of his total TD's allowed has been to the Saints. The Saints have absolutely dominated him.
