Surprise! Kon looks really bad!

Looking good in Summer league means nothing, it's what you're supposed to do as a top 5 pick. Looking bad in Summer league means a lot, especially as a top 5 pick. Kon came to life in the second half of tonight's game, we will see if he can sustain it. Even with his lightning in a bottle quarter he is 6 for 18 (33% FGs), 3 for 10 (30% 3FGs) and 6 for 10 (60% FTs). As it stands now, he has been incredibly underwhelming. Not just in his stats, but in his overall presence on the floor. That's my biggest concern watching him, he just looks out of place. Could care less if he shoots 10% if he's being aggressive and taking the game to people. He's not even close to doing that. There is a difference between having a bad night and looking like you don't belong on the floor. See Cooper Flagg's first game where he was statistically awful but looked athletically dominant and aggressive. -
I like 16 Hall.

TO by Kon before good non-asst attempt

FT attempt, using Juan's eyes, Kon looks thicker than I thought. Kon drops two pure tear drops.

I know it’s not going to happen but can we please stop being so quick to judge our draft picks. Kon came back with a respectable game 5-10FG 3-5 3pt 3-4FT 10Rebound 16Pts. I really think this new regime has gotten it right with these last two drafts.

I got side tracked, DVR and rewind til the start of 3rd. thanks for saving my spot, guys!

[Mina Kimes Show] The offensive trends taking over the NFL

Or Goff or Purdy or Dak or.....it's the era of doing this. You just gotta hope you aren't one. -

Yep, you got a be flexible and you gotta be honest about your player evaluations. Yeah, you take what many considered to generational QB prospect in Trevor Lawrence but you can't turn around and pay him like a high tier franchise QB after a few years of mediocre play. That Marty Hurney approach of "let's pay him like he's elite and then maybe he'll start playing like it" almost never works out. -
Surprise! Kon looked really good in the 3rd. Some moments of hope there.

Yeah, it's a tough spot to be in. There are no sure answers. You can suck wind and end up with Bryce or Sam Darnold. But sometimes you get Josh Allen or Joe Burrow. Or you can just keep trying to win and end up drafting Kenny Pickett or Dwayne Haskins. But, you could also get Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. Ultimately, I think you can't really "plan" for trying to get an elite QB or force it. Frankly, that is part of why we are in the spot we are in at the moment. You just do what you can to build a winner and hope your structure and evaluations end up with the QB that can either be truly elite or be the outlier that pushes you across the ultimate goal line of raising that trophy. -
This feels like the days of old when we were waiting on kerry Collins to make his entrance. Sure was fun and is more fun now if we will just win!!! I think these guys want it and that makes me excited!! Go Panthers!!

Not going to say he's a bust but you'll name drop Adam Morrison just because lol. Wasn't Adam Morrison known to be really good in Summer League? But when he got to the regular season he was bad? You know it's not a one size fits all indicator of success or failure. Summer League is about development and adjusting to the NBA. The shitposting here is wild.

Yep, you're better off needing a QB than you are financially shackled to a mediocre one. -

Not going to say bust, but Kon looks like he doesn't belong in this league. Through 45 minutes of action, he's 2 for 11 from field, 1 for 7 from three and 4 for 8 from free throw line. And his one make from three was a lucky, hail Mary, terrible, contested shot that no coach would ever want you to take. You're the #4 overall pick, for ONLY your shooting ability and you're 4 for fuging 8 from the free throw line. He spends 90% of his time standing in a corner doing absolutely nothing. This is going to be Adam Morrison all over again. -
Regardless of how he felt or they felt the guy gave us quite a few years of high light reels. Was just happy to see him start a family didn't mean to start a fuss or bad feelings. Was watching our high lite reels on NFL channel was last years. Sure had forgotten about Jewel the line LB I guess but he sure was all over place in last few games.

Salaun looks like the 2nd best player for the hornets playing. Good D on a play. Still erratic during O, but the whole team is. its summer league stuff.
-
Hornets have been poor from FT, I think even Kon missed one early and that's his strength.
-
Kon with a deep contested 3
-
I don't think sion James will play. hornets are basically Simpson or nothing on O.
-
Deep three by Salaun Kon back in the game, good D Kalk had a good effort rebound
-
Salaun got some effort and looks less lost.
