  1. Past hour
  2. You don't stop building but you don't part with massive roster building capital for non-QBs unless you have a QB. This isn't that hard to figure out. It's the hardest position to get right. The NFL shows you that by the way they pay them.
  3. They didn't "drop" a QB in there. They swung a huge trade for a QB. Something you can't do if you're shopping off all your draft capital every two or three years.
  4. No one said that it wasn't the most important, but you don't stop building your team because you don't have your "QB solved." That's crazy. You build as you can and keep filling in holes.
  5. This is not a playoff team barring an angels in the outfield level miracle. It is and always was a developmental season. And at some point your QB has to elevate those around him as he was drafted to do regardless.
  6. No need to keep repeating the same thing. That's your opinion. The Rams built a team and dropped a QB in there, and so did the 49ers.
  7. I didn't say they were right. I said it's proof that the NFL values the QB position by far and away over every other position. It's not debatable. That's why you don't even entertain trading multiple 1sts and more for any non-QB unless you're certain you have QB solved.
  8. He's 6th in RT average salary per year and first in guaranteed money per year among RT.
  9. If it looks like I expect it to look... He's not tradable at all. Best guess based on what I've seen. 2025-2027 with 2028 void year. 2025 - 8m salary with 23.75m cap hit with partial salary, plus his roster and workout bonuses converted to a signing bonus with void year in 2028. 4.3m salary guaranteed. 23m - 19m guaranteed / 25.5m cap 27m - 21m guaranteed 29.5m cap 2028 - 2.5m cap hit This is if the reports that his salary this year was changed and converted. If not, it's much simpler of a deal by a long shot. We know that he has an average salary per year of 19.4 and a guaranteed salary per year of 18.1m from 2025-2027. We also know that he has 54.3m guaranteed over the three years, which is how we get the 54.3m. So he's due 58.4m over the next 3 years in salary and 54.3m in guaranteed salary. So as of right now counting the signing bonus, his dead cap hits the next four seasons are as follows. 2025 - 81.25m 2026 - 57.5m 2027 - 32m 2028 - 2.5m This is of course a rough guess work of the information that's currently available. I think I did my math correctly. lol

  11. So, you think that just because more than half the teams are overpaying for a QB, that means they're right? Give me a break. Pass rushers are the second highest paid for a reason, and many of them are better football players than the QBs they play for.
  12. Agreed. And there's no value to parting with that type of haul unless you're certain that you have the most important position solved.
  13. I strongly disagree. Every potential deal is dependent upon the value.
  14. I can see and agree with your point here but the money from restructures is a sunk cost. New money being less than average for a player of his quality was a win for the front office. Getting almost all of it guaranteed is a win for the player. The whole deal is just smart football. He is as healthy as any other vet high end tackle with a history of being on the field. There's plenty of risk but that is the case with every NFL contract. The pros greatly outweigh the cons with the only two cons I can see if the guaranteed money being high and he's not a spring chicken. Both valid worries but his ability, character, play on the field, salary, and not having to watch Bryce run for his life are worth those risks IMHO.
  15. And the NFL has told you through actual contracts that literally half the league's starting QBs are worth more than the best pass rushers or any other position for that matter.
  16. Nothing because if you don't for sure have a QB you shouldn't even be considering it.
  17. I mean, what do you expect to pay for the best rusher since Lawrence Taylor? I mean, seriously.
  18. Every team is even from a win-loss perspective and I'm a half glass full kind of guy so 10! The way I see it is if the offence can sustain longer drives it gives an opportunity for the defence to remain fresh and be more competent this year. I also think this year is it for Bryce. He has all the tools to deliver. Either he looks good and we have our QB1 or we move on in the offseason
  19. Like I mentioned, pass rushers are pretty coveted as well. Parsons is not some regular Joe. Furthermore, as I mentioned also, using run to set up the pads and the pass to set up the run is still a thing. And I shouldn't have to say it, but defense still wins championships. That is still a damned good blueprint for any era of football, damned near sacrosanct.
  20. I was way more pumped until they actually tried to football in the preseason. Now I’m dreading losing to the Jaguars.
  21. I'm good either way. If we move Thielen to free up snaps for the youngsters and get future draft capital, I get it. If we keep him to provide Bryce with a security blanket in his prove it year, I get it.
  22. That's a young draft pick for a guy who guaranteed will not be playing for the team next season. You guys are too attached. And the players you're attached to aren't even that good.
  23. Sure. You look into it. Then you find out they want two 1sts and more and he wants to be the highest paid defender in league history. Then you...
  24. We may or may not have a QB. Right now, Bryce has put a lot of bad play and some middling play on film. You're talking about a different era of football before they changed the rules of the passing game. The top 16 highest paid players are QBs. Literally half of the league's starting QBs. A good chunk of the rest are probably on rookie contract. It's the only argument I need in terms of how the league views the position. Money talks and bullshit walks and teams are telling you what is most important with their money.
