He doesn't have your charisma (might have a better 40 time though)

@kungfoodudeis next man up. He can hold it down.

Funny how they keep quoting and basing their arguments on those things they "don't give a fug about". Perhaps it is an "easy way" but I'm not about taking the easy way. My path is to look at what's good (without trying to minimize it or rationalizing my way out of it) then look at what's bad and make an honest call based on real truth. Basically, it's like saying you'd rather play against a team at their best than hoping they're all banged up by the time you face them. As to finding "that dude" you do so by finding who helps you win games. Like it or not, Bryce is doing that right now.
-
I've said I want them to bring a better mentor on board. That'd help fix things of that sort. So far, Pete Carroll has sounded like the best suggestion.
-
I mean, you are doing here what you do. but yeah, the people you are "addressing" here don't think as you want to portray them. No one actually gives a fug about literal stats. threatening play and overall load carrying ability of an offense matter when it comes to a QB. Especially, if your goal is to build a really good football team. Thats generally the fixation of most teams. Find that dude that can carry a team if need be and good enough to win a Super Bowl. Sometimes stats get talked about just because it is an easy way to talk on a message board about QBs that don't got what they are looking for and don't view as the answer.

Evero is in the same area as Bryce for me right now. Not a fan, but expect him to be retained. Difference with Evero though is some team could give him a head coaching job. And who knows? Maybe his coaching skill set will be well suited to such a role.

Team friendly / short term extension was Dan Graziano's suggestion, using the Packers and Jordan Love as an example.
-
Mentioned it elsewhere, but I think it was Person who said Scott Fitterer went all in on analytics after joining Tepper's org but Dan Morgan prefers old school "eyes on film" scouting.
-
No. It's pretty much what I said. People don't wanna admit it because it sounds silly..which it is. As has been repeated many times, my evaluation of Bryce and why I think he should be a backup rather than a starter, isn't stat based.
-
fingers crossed that all the public signals we've seen suggest he truly is on the sidelines
-
Good call. Who'll be subbing as you while you're suspended?
-
I don't think that's intellectually honest of the view at all... I think the people you deem are "unhappy" with stats......just stay fixated on the the big picture and to actually matter in the NFL going forward, you need more offensive production and more threatening play from the QB spot....if the goal is to be consistently relevant in the future and present a real threat to win the league on an ongoing basis (which is supposed to the goal and mission you are building toward) Finding our way to a random 9 win season......without the inspiration belief we are on the way to achieve what we want .....just doesn't actually mean much.

ESPN guys talk Bryce fifth year option

Yeah the term "team friendly deal" was thrown out a lot today and to me thats the same thing. If he is not the guy getting him cheaper does do poo. If he is not the guy he is not the guy. its been 3 years and its quite literally the same result not sure what magical corner he is going to turn in year 4. We have heard it every offseason. Having to eat that dead cap in 27 potentially would kindof suck because hopefully the roster is rock solid and there may be a qb you can drop in and keep winning -
I'm talking about the folks that actually use the stats.
-
Its the lesser of 2 evils. They are forced in keeping him another season because they will have to redo the qb room since they decided to keep the status quo there and its blown up in their faces. Even if they do exercise the 5th they still can trade or cut him if they must. They've eaten contacts before and they will again. Its the natue of the business. Swallowing 26 million is easier than trying to ride out 5 years @ 60 million per year.
-
Depends on the coach, but in my opinion that's how the smart coaches operate. I don't really see Andy Reid or Sean McVay going by a stat sheet. That's probably more guys like Suleiman and Tilis than it is coaches.
-
Okay...that's pretty cool.

I think picking up the 5th is a mistake. Here is why. What if its just more of the same next year? Then you have a 26 million albatross around your neck and no real way to get out from under it. If you dont pick it up and let him play year 4 and he "balls out" (I mean come on who thinks that is going to happen) then you simply tag him and move on down the road and try to ext him. You have options. Picking up the 5th is tethering him to your team one way or another for 2 more years. I cannot think of anyone outside of lunatics like mac and bone who would be upset to simply let him play out the 4rth year a la Jones and go from there. They were even pushing back against bringing in competition for him next year. Said the team likes dalton. They want to see how the last 4 games go. I mean fug didnt we just do this last year? Why would the last 4 change anyones opinion of him?
