Anyone left who does not believe in Bryce ?
Joe Bear replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
We don't know what Bryce Young's going to be yet. Different samples have yielded wildly different results. So let's not guess top-10, top-20 or out of the NFL. -
The NFL's rules have never applied to Brady before. Why start now?

Anyone left who does not believe in Bryce ?

To play devil’s advocate here, he was literally a top-20 QB this year in terms of QBR (and posted above a 100 QB rating the last three games of the season), so saying he’d never reach top-20 is a bit disingenuous. Top-10’s a stretch, but he’s already top-20 among most anyone’s list. -
It comes and goes. I won seven bets in a row November and December. Then, thanks to the Patriots ML I took before the Bills announced they were resting starters, my Week 18 wasn't a total disaster.

Washedington.

If anyone watches soccer, this afternoon's Manchester United/Arsenal match was also bullshit, but Arsenal didn't ultimately benefit from the litany of undeserved calls they got. And I have no interest in either team in that one, either.

Would You Trade Draft Capital for a #1 WR???
Joe Bear replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do not trade another Day 1 or Day 2 draft pick again. Ever. This team is 0-for-infinity doing that.- 93 replies

Like a Bryan Harsin vs. Lane Kiffin matchup, I'll root for the asteroid.

I respect Baker's talent and wanted him to do well here even though he had approximately 1.25 good/non-bad games, but I can't support the Bucs winning. Now that I think of it though, the Redskins won 40-7 against the Panthers earlier this year and I can't support them going far for that reason.

Panthers sign players to futures contracts
Joe Bear replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Loser teams sign players to futures contracts. Teams that play 4D chess are signing players to pasts contracts. Put that Hubbard contract against the salary cap in 2002. -
Fair but nothing would make me root for a rival NFC South team. I'd rather lose the bet lol

I don't root for any team that's still in the playoffs, but I'd put the Vikings and Redskins above the others. I'd be happy for Minnesota to win and I don't mind the Redskins winning.

Nah, I'm not claiming you're in any group. You seem pretty level-headed to me and most of your opinions are similar to mine. -
https://www.espn.com/espn/betting/story/_/id/43390276/eagles-rb-saquon-barkley-late-slide-playoff-win-stymies-bettors That stuff amuses the hell out of me. I'll bet ML or for/against the spread here and there, but props are just too unpredictable for my taste. Bad beat.

I think there are about five posters on here who want Young to not play well because it means they're wrong, and their posts reflect that mindset on a consistent basis. Personally, I'd rather the Panthers win and Young play well, whether I predicted it (I didn't) or not. There's definitely a possibility some people on here are spouting opinions they don't even believe, just for engagement and to see if others will agree with them. It's very common in the political sphere. I want to say I wish I joined this sinking ship before it was feet from the ocean floor, but with some of the discourse, or lack thereof, I'm not certain about that. -

What is the point of these damn games
Joe Bear replied to cardiackat88.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
To hell with the Bills. I hate their fans and I know too many of them. They were insufferable and acted like they were the 1990s Cowboys even when they went 4-12 every year. Now they're beyond insufferable. -

I mean, the inverse is also true. Many can imagine this place if Young's Week 18 was like Herbert's Week 19. I know you'd have been on here 10x as much as you were. No one's saying it's not OK to like Stroud too. He was No. 1 on my board, after all. But he doesn't play here, so some should maybe consider a move to the Texans board, where like-minded people reside. -

I think he said Stroud was having a pedestrian game. One TD is pedestrian, considering five Young TDs in one game was described on this board as "efficient" and "not bad". If five's efficient, that standard implies that one would probably be trash. Stroud also has one of the best defenses in the NFL to lean on when he's having a pedestrian game, while Young has one of, I'll be kind and say, one of the three worst defenses of all time -- a defense that allowed 653 more rushing yards than the 31st-ranked defense. A lot of that falls on injury luck, which has not hurt Houston but destroyed the Panthers in the sense that two of the top three defensive players on the roster were lost for the season in Weeks 1 and 3 respectively. But it's impossible to blow out a team when you put up points but the defense is swiss cheese. Stroud knows he can score 20 and win. Hell, Young's had to be pushing or above 40 the last three weeks just to have a chance. It's OK to be cautiously optimistic about Young. Excited, even. Convinced he's a star? Some are. I'm not. But hey, he could be. This is the first year in a long time that you're entering it with hope of genuine good QB play. -

Stroud's gotta be the NFL's most popular player. He's a hit in Houston, but he's No. 1 among Panthers fans. -
Bryce Young aka The Reaper Claims Another Victim
Joe Bear replied to Prowler2k18's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t count that one because it wasn’t because of that game so much as it was the whole season. Can’t say Penix got 3 Panther defensive assistants fired, because it was their 17-game body of work that did. -
4-13 for 41 yards and an INT when not throwing to him. Stroud’s also made a lot of poor throws. Lucky to avoid a second INT.

Herbert has been dogshit.
