  1. Yeah I've been thinking about a better pass catching TE but the draft just didn't pan out for one on that simulation.
  2. Managed to get NE's first round pick in 2024 in case Anthony doesn't pan out we can move up take another QB.
  3. I don't want to lose a 1st round pick. Find someone else. Offensive minded coaches only. Good defense = 7 wins, and the worst you can do is win just enough not to make the playoffs by one game. Nothing worse than that W/L wise, and that's what a defensive coach will bring imo.
  4. I want Payton but not for two first round picks. We're got to stop playing dinosaur ball with mediocre QBs no matter who we chose as HC.
  5. Our weak passing game is the problem, so we'll be looking for a QB or WR. The top QBs will fly off the board, so we either take a lower rated QB, or..
  6. Our black cat Panthers luck will see CJ going somewhere between 1 and 8. Just like we won exactly enough games to not make the playoffs, but also be as far down the draft as possible. We're sitting right in the worst case scenario zone.
  7. Watching Payton spread out our defense and beat us speed and the right match ups, and keeping us off balance with wonderful play calling, it was just a thing of beauty. When you make Luke Kuechly look lost you know you're a bad ass coach. They were getting 10 plus yards on screen plays like it was easy.
  8. This will be the most talented coach we interview by far imo, but there will always be something in me that wants to punch him in the face.
  9. 1.) Marty Hurney drafted Cam Newton, and wanted to draft Justin Herbert. He wasn't exactly an idiot GM either. Almost all your all time favorite Panthers are Hurney guys. Having said that, Hurney was overall an ineffective GM and that certainly factors into the poor QB selections in later rounds. 2.) At this point all I want more than anything is an offensive guru at our HC position. Even if that means digging up Sean Payton. I never want another defensive minded HC again. Period. My post wasn't to say that we should stop drafting later round QBs. It was more to show my lack of confidence in Fitt.
  10. We take later round QBs here and there. We have a later round QB already on the roster. We draft later round QBs, and we will continue to do so in the future. Do you want another later round QB to add to Corral? It might happen, but remember Fitt is our GM. He knows QBs like Cardi B knows quantum physics. Round 4 - Chis Winkie Round 5 - Randy Fasani Round 4 - Stefan Lefors Round 6 - Tony Pike Round 2 - Jimmy Clausen Round 3 - Will Grier Round 3 - Matt Crral
  11. "We saw a guy we liked *bzzzt* and we took him *bzzt*
  12. And the way Fitt says "we saw a guy we loved" will be said with all the enthusiasm and energy of Wednesday Adams. I swear Fitt is the most low energy monotone unenthusiastic person I've ever seen. I want to see him get hyped up when talking about our first pick after the draft. He'll be monotone for sure like he's about to fall asleep.
  13. I vote stay put and go BPA. I certainly don't want them trading up for a QB with our scouts and Fitt. Hell no. let's see if Corral pans out, or take a QB at 9th.
  14. Now here is the funny part, one of the draft stories will have to end up being true because they'll have listed almost every possibility in the first round. Sooner or later they hit on the Panthers actual plans, but it's purely by process of elimination. Sooner or later they'll hit on the actual plan by making up so many different bs stories.
  15. From now to draft day the story on what the Panthers are planning for the draft will change a minimum of 20 times. If you believe any of it then I have a plot of land I'd like to sell you.
  16. Oh by the way the next step is to say the contrary with another anonymous source, so I'll go ahead in do that part now ahead of time. An anonymous source told me that the Panthers are in fact interested in taking a QB at 9th. "We like this group of QB's, but we want to be smart and stay put. A guy we like may fall." I'll do the other ones that are being written now for the coming weeks and months ahead. The Panthers are looking to trade up for a QB according to my source. The Panthers are looking to trade down for a QB according to my source. And a few other variations of these types of made up stories.
  17. An anonymous source told me that we're interested in taking a WR at the 9th pick. "We just don't like the value for a QB at 9." said my anonymous source. No I won't name the source, not even after the draft is over. You'll never know my source.
  18. It's mandatory that each off season sports reporters turn to "anonymous sources" to tell fan bases their favorite team's secret thoughts on the draft and which player and position they value. These "anonymous sources" are usually the either the sports writer's imagination, or people who are not involved in the draft process. The reason for making up stories is to generate clicks for money, and because sports writer's are held to the lowest possible standards when it comes to the draft. It's essentially print whatever you want to get attention, and just make sure your tall tale references anonymous sources who will never be named because they don't exist.
  19. The best QB prospects will fly off the board within the first 3 or 4 picks imo. I certainly don't want to try and jump into a bidding war with QB desperate teams trying to trade up. No thanks. We can a QB at 9th, or allow Corral to take the reigns. That's fine. If Corral poops the bed and shows no potential, then you need to look at dumping Fitt. We can't have a GM blowing QB picks and bringing in bad FA QBs over and over again. Unacceptable. Take a QB at 9, or pass and give the reigns to Corral.
