The most popular player on a bad team is usually the backup QB
-
The team should be better than the travesty of an offense they trotted out on the field last season. Doesn't mean Rhule should be the head coach anymore. We can all see why he couldn't even beat a ranked college team at Baylor.

Coaching staff seems to value experience over talent at LT. Brady got the experience. If he earns it, he earns it. Icky would be a very good LG too.

I see Sam to the Rams possibly in the near future...
hepcat replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's really not a farfetched idea. If they'd give the Panthers a 4th or 5th, take a chunk of the salary off the books, it's a win win for both teams. Same kinda deal the Panthers did for Baker. Darnold might really have success on the Rams sitting behind Stafford and learning from McVay for a few seasons. -
Robbie Anderson interview w Josina Anderson.
hepcat replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve stopped listening to pretty much anyone in the NFL talk outside of a few particularly entertaining people like Steve Smith. They all rot my brain for different reasons Darnold is just a simple boy. CMC you can tell is a basic ass meathead who probably harbors some bad/ignorant beliefs he keeps under wraps for the sake of his career and instagram gf. People in this country by and large are getting dumber and less literate. -

Broke my finger in a basketball game that was about it

I think Corral is the starter by the end of the season for better or for worse. Only QB on the roster we don’t know if he’s sucks yet.

Darnold vs Mayfield might be the highest profile QB battle the Panthers have ever seen. When was the last time the #1 overall and #3 overall picks from the same draft battled it out for a starting job? I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing..... Recap of the last Panthers QB battles I can remember..... 2011: Cam Newton vs Jimmy Clausen. Not much of a battle, Cam was clearly the starter. 2010: Matt Moore vs Jimmy Clausen. Again, not much of a battle. Matt Moore was set up to be the starter. 2003: Rodney Peete vs Chris Weinke vs Jake Delhomme. Rodney Peete was the starter in 2002 and was set up to be the starter in 2003 again. 2002: Rodney Peete vs Chris Weinke. Again, kind of a lackluster battle. Peete took the job and held onto it all season. 2001: Chris Weinke vs Jeff Lewis, others. Damn what a garbage battle that was. The Panthers went into the season without a QB who had ever started an NFL game....no wonder they went 1-15. Before that it was Steve Beurelein and Kerry Collins except for a few games started by Frank Reich in 1995 but no season had a true "battle"

Good thing he is old and sucks now.

I’d eat my crow with a side of Rhule salad if that happened. I don’t think that day will be coming though!

A college coach that never even beat a ranked team
-
I can’t believe Matt Rhule is still the coach.

Texans 2nd Round rookie diagnosed with leukemia
hepcat replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
My dad has had chronic lymphocytic leukemia since around 2014 and has had to have chemo treatment twice. I don’t know about his NFL future but I have a feeling this guy still has quite a long future ahead of him with modern medicine advancements. -
