So, Is Bryce Playing this Week or Nah?
hepcat replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bet he suits up but as the emergency QB. Would be very irresponsible to start him after no practice and battling an ankle injury. See where he's at next week. -
Probably 0, but he might suit up as the emergency 3rd stringer.
-
After watching that video I’m not sure he drove the spikes in intentionally but he definitely tripped him. Should have been a flag.

I think many were concerned because Morgan worked with Fitterer, and was in the room when many poor decisions were made in the past, including passing on the Brian Burns haul from the Rams, trading up for Bryce Young, and then turning around and not re-signing Burns and trading him for only a 2nd round pick. From 2022-2024 the team jettisoned way more talent than it brought back in, most of it being Fitterer's fault, but Morgan had to shoulder some of that blame too. He seems to be getting better and that makes me hopeful, but time will tell.

PJ Walker not being in the NFL right now is crazy. He has a winning record as a starter, although his stats are kinda trash. Can't imagine there's 32 guys out there as backups who are better in spot duty than PJ.

Bryce Young - High Ankle Sprain, out minimum 1 week

Eh don't discount the tema has improved. The Panthers of 2023 and 2024 would have lost to the Cowboys and Dolphins -
They honestly might be willing to do that to dump him. He's burned the bridge there from what it seems.

Jets defense plays hard for Wilks, as some of the Panthers players know. Jets offense is an absolute disaster but their defense is not the problem. Offense needs to focus on letting the run game drive the offense. Dalton might do well in this situation because McMillian reminds me of AJ Green except he's 38 and probably can't play more than 1-2 games before we see some decline
-
Tua is not a bailout plan for Bryce, they still need to address that in the offseason. But short term with Bryce injured and Dalton being 38 and probably not able to play more than 2-3 games? Tua is a realistic option.
-
Tua has shown more in the NFL than Bryce has. His brain situation lends him to be a backup and he could definitely be a good long term backup if he's not pressed to play every week. Other than being a lefty I can't see the offense changing much with Tua under center considering Bryce has a similar skillset.

Bryce Young - High Ankle Sprain, out minimum 1 week

Yea would have been such a great time to have drafted a late round QB to take a chance on but instead they have Hendon Hooker who hasn't played a game in the NFL. -
I know it sounds crazy but low key I think the Panthers need to go see if they can get the Dolphins to dump Tua and eat his salary. Otherwise Sam Howell is the only other reasonable trade target.

I mean if Canales is dumb enough to trot Dalton out there and make him throw 40 times when he's got Rico running like a madman and Chuba to spell him, we're cooked. -
Lance made some insane throws in college. He has the talent. He lacks the experience and maybe the know how.
-
Tua might be available
-
Bryce was in a boot after the game, he’s not playing next week.
-
Neither of those guys have any more in the tank than Dalton. Sam Howell is third string for the Eagles. Best option out there.
-
Hopefully this isn’t the high point of the season but it certainly might be

Official Week 7: Panthers @ Jets Gameday Thread
hepcat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They suck. This is an inexcusable game to lose -
Texas’s biggest problem is Arch Manning. Get even average level QB play and Texas is back in the top 5. There’s receivers schemes wide open and Arch is out there throwing balls into the dirt and over their heads. Aside from when he’s played bottom dweller teams, Arch doesn’t look the part. I defended him after the OSU loss because it was a hard game to start with, but I can’t anymore. He’s holding the team back. Maybe he will get better but I’m not seeing it.
-
I mean the announcers were just saying how huge Texas’s DTs are, and lo and behold here goes Kentucky trying to run up the middle which hasn’t worked all game over and over. They would have scored if they did a play action bootleg and let their QB have the option to try to run it in. Bad playcalling and Kentucky deserved the L. The game was theirs for the taking.
-
Kentucky deserved to lose. Playcalling got scared with the game on the line
-
I was team Arch early in the season but he sucks. Missing open receivers throwing like a JV backup.
