  1. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 21h Cory Littleton with an interception in practice. He’s a versatile part who can help in a number of ways. They don’t many many LBs (five) but they have four starting-caliber guys. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 20h Rhule on yesterdays (dumb, overblown) Mayfield story, and whether it was a distraction. “I wasn’t distracted by it.”
  2. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 17h Panthers have agreed to terms on a practice squad deal with former Colts and Seahawks QB Jacob Eason. Will sign tomorrow.
  3. Augusta Stone Retweeted Darin Gantt @daringantt · 29m Defensive coordinator Phil Snow said he thinks the top three CBs (Horn, Jackson, Henderson) are as good as any group of three in the league, and that Horn "could be one of the best players in the league."
  4. Joe Person @josephperson · 42m Ben McAdoo on Laviska Shenault’s build and physical style: “He’s a stud, right?” Joe Person @josephperson · 1m Scott Fitterer said Matt Corral had Lisfranc surgery this week in Green Bay. Robert Anderson, former Panthers physician, performed the surgery.
  5. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 3m Panthers placed QB Sam Darnold on injured reserve to clear a roster spot for kicker Eddy Piñeiro. Joe Person @josephperson · 26m Phil Snow thinks Jaycee Horn is one of the best players in the league, or will be. Joe Person @josephperson · 31m Phil Snow said he’ll have a role for rookie LB Brandon Smith each week b/c he likely will start at some pt due to injuries.
  6. Joe Person @josephperson · 3m Scott Fitterer says plan is to keep Baker Mayfield and PJ Walker as the only 2 QBs on active roster.
  7. remember that game where he got an int and a sack and Ron gave him the game ball? That was a special moment for him, but also all of us who were pulling for him.
  8. Josh Klein @joshkleinrules · 42s Panthers make no waiver claims. Only player they cut who was claimed was DE Daryl Johnson (Seattle). Guessing a lot of guys coming back to p squad today.
  9. I'm really afraid McCall gets cut in the next couple of days because we sign someone. I hope he makes the team for good.
  10. Saints board did too...they are stunned. also, this sheds a little light on how we got a pick for Daley. Daniel Jeremiah @MoveTheSticks · 46m I hear the same thing in conversations around the NFL during this time of the year. Everyone is looking to upgrade bottom of OL group and CB group.
  11. David Newton @DNewtonespn · 54m These likely are the Panthers' 5 WRs: DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Shi Smith, Terrace Marshall Jr., Laviska Shenault and Rashard Higgins. Could mean the end for kick return specialist Andre Roberts. Shi Smith could return kicks. David Newton @DNewtonespn · 1h Panthers like their top four WRs, DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Shi Smith. Trade tells me they weren't sold on the experience and talent behind them. Ellis L. Williams @BookofEllis · 1h Some details -Shenault will be a hybrid WR/ RB, capable of operating near LOS as runner, receiver or blocker. -Deal does not affect Terrace Marshall's role or status on the team. -McAdoo has history with Shenault from 2020 - Team gave up undisclosed draft comp to Jacksonville.
  12. I'm excited about Cade....want him to be backup center over Elfman as soon as possible. I think Boze is on a one year deal, would like Cade to learn from him and take over, or maybe Boze gets good enough we extend him and let Cade develop.
  13. most of the guys that we (and all other teams) are going to be interested in will be the last ones released.
  14. wanna say thanks to @Jackie Lee and all others for doing these threads. I used to have time to do these, but I am now the manager where I work. I always have time to read though!
  15. Joe Person @josephperson · 14s Some good injury news: Derrick Brown is fine. And Bradley Bozeman, Robbie Anderson and Ian Thomas all should be back this week.
  16. Saints have a problem at LT....1st round rookie apparently has turf toe...if it's bad, he could be out for the year. That's not the kind of injury you need at a position that requires balance. Hurst was the backup, and apparently he's in a boot. As we well know, there is no glut of decent LTs out there, so they'll have to move Peat over. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet #Saints first round OT Trevor Penning suffered what is believed to be a bad case of turf toe, sources say. He’ll have an MRI to ascertain the damage, but this takes Penning off the field for some time.
  17. Hey Siri, is Shi Smith our WR2? Shi Smith is our WR2.
  18. good play, good catch, Baker at least made it catchable...I think we have our QB
  19. supposedly it was Rhule's wife who wanted us to take Chuba. She's off to a nice start to match Hurney's drafting ability after the first round.
  20. Chiefs just did a cool tribute to Len Dawson, who passed away this week...Mahomes came out on first possession and the huddle lined up the way it did for Dawson back in the day.
  21. Icky against Miles in the first game is worrisome. If BC slides out for a few games, I'm fine with that.
  22. here's the story on being released. Don't know his current health situation, but it was a contract thing with Washington https://www.profootballrumors.com/2022/03/commanders-to-cut-landon-collins The Commanders are set to release Landon Collins (Twitter link via NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport). The two sides tried to come to terms on a pay cut, but the safety preferred to try his luck on the open market. The old regime gave Collins a six-year, $84MM deal in 2019. That pact made him the first safety in league history to crack the $14MM/year mark. Now, midway through the megadeal, the Commanders are going to bid farewell to the 28-year-old. Releasing Collins will save $6.6MM against roughly $10MM in dead money for 2022. By all accounts, the Commanders would have been happy to keep Collins — just not at his $16.1MM cap figure. To his credit, Collins was mostly healthy in 2021, appearing in 13 games as a linebacker/safety. Collins finished 2021 with 81 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and three sacks across 13 games. Now, he’ll look to reassert himself elsewhere when free agency opens on March 16.
