  1. I'm just listening to people say what they want to say...I'm a diehard Panthers fan at the end of the day...but let me know how the Stafford crow tastes in January.
  2. Come on, bro, Darnold can at least hit the broad side of a barn. Walker would throw it over the motherfuger, wide right.
  3. Yep, that's why I started the thread the other day. Call me crazy, but I don't think I've ever seen a QB be inside his head so much as Darnold. I mean, you can see it on his face. I mean--not in a necessarily negative way--sometimes there seems to be a void. Perhaps it's just a matter of building confidence, and Rhule, Brady and Ryan seem like a good bet to fill the void, so to speak--develop Darnold into all that he can be.
  4. My son, as a member of Gen Z, loves Apple. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get or already have the subscription. If they have benefits like Amazon Prime, I'll just piggyback off him for free. I haven't had to pay a dime.
  5. We all know that there were a multitude of reasons as to why Sam Darnold failed as a Jet. So I'm not going to belabor the point. What strikes me about what Sam said is that he shoulders all the blame for his poor play. And this can be a good thing or a bad thing. https://sports.yahoo.com/sam-darnold-shoulders-blame-jets-144628436.html?src=rss “I definitely didn't play good enough in my stint there. And I put it on myself.’’ “I think I didn’t do my job to the best of my ability. I think that’s really all there is to it.” Straight, no chaser! I still don't know what to make of Darnold. He seems stoic sometimes. He's obviously done some self reflection and introspection. He's been in his own head it seems (for example, the "seeing ghosts" thing). In a few days, we'll get to see what he's learned, not only from his new coaches that are trying to put him in the best situation to succeed, but from the time in the Big Apple when he admittedly wasn't doing his job to the best of his ability. Sam's had time to think about what he needs to do to play to the best of his ability, and he knows that this is probably his last opportunity to do so as a legit QB1. A place where he is "wanted" (which I'm pretty sure I remember him saying at the time he set foot in Charlotte). Since he's seemingly very much self aware of the part that he played in NYC, he has to be motivated to do his job to the best of his ability now. I can't exactly tell you why, but I think that this experiment is going to go very good or very bad--no in between! And I think we're going to know how it's going to go relatively quickly.
  6. Love the Faust reference. That Lombardi would shine forever though...
  7. That was no one! I never ever saw one person say that.
  8. I never saw Igo as a print journalist--that might be my bad, it might not--I see him as more of a photojournalist. He is not a beat writer or a reporter for the team. He's more of a freelancer who had good access to the team. Now, since the Panthers have cut a lot of the more independent types off at the knees, they can't (and shouldn't be expected to) report anything. They don't have access! Moreover, it's absolutely true that print media has gone through an evolution. These old newspaper organizations are not necessarily worthless, but they need to get real with themselves and stop trying to make people pay for sports news that they can get free. When a story or a report is behind a paywall, it is effectively worthless. That doesn't mean that the reporters for those organizations are, but if thousands of people can't see your story, then it has no value to them. The Carolina Huddle is a fan forum (and a damned good one)! Sure, I come here for news, but the expectation is that its origins will be from the Panthers or any national organization that has access to NFL teams. It's not breaking news that makes forums go, it's the discussion around the news, and whatever else that forum members may create of interest surrounding the team that drives the Huddle and all football message boards.
  9. I'm sure a certain amount of money is guaranteed, but that's just a matter of Tepper paying him what he's owed.
  10. The Rhule contract means nothing in relation to setting the team back. He can be axed today, the only repercussions being those regarding his personnel decisions.
  11. I respect the coaches to make their decisions. They deserve that latitude. But I honestly think that Rhule is full o' poo (just like Rivera) in this regard. But, I'm not a coach.
  12. Said rookie didn't show anything of note during practices. He was basically JAG. People keep bringing up last season, but remember that we didn't even have a preseason (or anything resembling a competent defensive backfield), but this year we've seen what Christensen and Brown can do, and I dare say that they looked better doing it than the guys in front of them.
  13. It's not just Erickson, we signed Mike Horton and the guy we released before, Dominik Eberle. https://nfltraderumors.co/panthers-signing-wr-alex-erickson-to-practice-squad/
  14. The personnel was a little bit of a trainwreck when Rhule took over. He effectively HAD to start the youngins, not that he really wanted to.
  15. Rhule's only saving grace in this regard, is that it appears he may be quicker to pull an underperforming vet: instead of waiting for an entire season, maybe he'll wait like eight to 10 games. That's all I got
  16. Many fans thought Whitehead sucked from the beginning. They were right!
