  1. I mean, for all we know, the girl got pregnant by someone else and he felt some type of way about it, and simply moved on mentally and emotionally. Just because we don't see any emotion doesn't mean that he hasn't had any, but, like I said, people have to continue living.
  2. Life goes on fellas. Plus, you aren't necessarily going to grieve publicly. Wearing a mask in times of grieving is fully understandable. The kid may not even had time to grieve honestly, as I am sure the past week has been a whirlwind. You just don't know what's going on in his mind as far as that's concerned. It has been approximately six months which can be a lifetime for young people and their relationships.
  3. Well we are definitely interested. http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2015/05/trai-turner-doing-his-best-to-recruit-show-support-for-lael-collins.html So people can stop asking that question.
  4. Here is the official policy according to NFL.com: So, I guess that it is technically OK to meet with Collins after all (provided that it's not at his residence or on campus). Bojangles would be OK.
  5. Well, it's not really stopping the Phins from going about business http://www.postbulletin.com/sports/national/football/collins-agent-says-his-client-is-not-meeting-with-nfl/article_7c83c087-7850-5d11-91ed-1d1574c90a72.html
  6. Actually I was thinking that about a lot of his visits. I tell you, if this kid is actually innocent, then his agent is smart as fug. I can just hear him saying: "We gonna play these fools like a Stradivarius, kid. You go on the world tour and be treated like the MVP. Just don't say anything crazy and get your head all turned around by the steak and lobster and such. It's all an act, kid. Have your fun, and then go on to Charlotte and beat out the movie star..."
  7. I wouldn't think so, until finals are over at the earliest. My thinking is that the league office probably told the teams to "Wait a minute here and back the fug up!" Teams probably will respect the spirit of the rules even if there is some kind of loophole. Moreover, I am thinking that this is why his agent is now saying that Collins is not meeting with NFL teams.
  8. Looks like a purely need-based signing. I wonder if Getty even had time to watch the tape.
  9. Sexy Rexy may be in a bit of trouble in his zeal for La'el and a meal.
  10. I know. I was thinking about that yesterday, though not in relation to Collins, but Famous Jameis. Collins or no Collins, that young man may end up as a tasty morsel for CJ, Alexander, Ealy, Star, and Short. And that doesn't include the other rotational guys and our nasty linebackers. The kid is going to have to make a believer out of me, because I just don't see how we aren't going to eat his lunch this year. I will easily throw La'el Collins right in there with him.
  11. Aaahh, hit a nerve, huh? On the first hand, I was just trolling to see who would bite, but I see most of the people here didn't take the bait. Secondly, I never said that we can replace good ol' JR, I basically said if JR is a hindrance then it would be an indicator "that it's time for a new owner" Third, if you look at my quote right up there "Oh, if it could be so easy", then that should tell you that I know there really ain't a damned thing we can do except grin and bear it. At the end of the day, JR is apparently a non-issue in this instance, the way that I am interpreting the reports and Gettleman's cryptic comments about the situation when asked about Collins. So, I am going to get off yall's favorite owner (not that I really got on him to begin with). Suffice it to say that I am amused.
  12. Most people don't lose hundreds of thousands of dollars---or even millions---just for being associated with the victim of murder either. If it turns out that Collins doesn't have anything to do with the murder, then, yes, I would consider that being a victim.
  13. Not really. Cam is 24th on the all-time passer rating list right now. Luck and Cam are very close (I am just too lazy to look it up). Wilson and Kap might have higher career ratings right now, but career passer rating doesn't kick in until you've thrown 1500 passes, so some of these guys have a ways to go before we see a clearer picture. But the metric doesn't even take running into account, where Cam obviously excels. I predict that within three years after the big boys retire, Cam will be top 10 on a consistent basis.
  14. Wow. That sweet talking, sexy Rexy is already dining with La'el. Oh, hell! http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2015/05/04/lael-collins-lsu-murder-questioning-baton-rouge-brittney-mills/26888565/ "And later Monday night, Collins dined with Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan at Ruffino's Italian restaurant in Baton Rouge, according to an employee of the restaurant." We better do our best to get in the good graces of this kid. If all suspicions about him are cleared, then Jerry Richardson better not stand in the way of Gman trying to sign Collins. You can flame all you want, but if we let this kid get away over some booooolsh*t, then that might be the best indicator that it's time for a new owner. You can't summarily dismiss Collins if it turns out that he is an innocent victim. And, of course, it's all predicated upon you wanting him in the first place, which I don't see why we wouldn't, being that we likely had a second round grade on him.
  15. I appreciate the post. Boykin is the slowest receiver on the roster, which isn't necessarily a good thing. But, regardless whether people want to hear it, he also has the best hands on the roster. He also produced notably on special teams, not to mention a near 700 yard season when given the opportunity. I only tell people this as food for thought. For what it's worth (perhaps not much), people are not even mentioning Mike Brown who had a better 2013 season than the 2014 season that Corey Brown had (minus M.Brown's drops), so there is that component. But, as far as Boykin, I don't see why people are just so quick to discount him as even our very on Packersfan said that he was decent: Just food for thought.
  16. I haven't been able to see any of the interviews yet. Whenever I go to listen, the darned things don't play. One time I opened another window and went to something else, and the video just popped up after 6 minutes and started playing. I don't know if it's a software issue, or the fact that I am using Vista. I don't think that should matter, as I have updated the flash player, etc. Youtube vids play without much of a problem, maybe I will go see if I can find them there. I guess it's about time to pull out the Asus with Win 8.1 on it that my mother gave me.
  17. I have always thought that drafting and acquiring smart players via FA is one of the reasons why Bill Belichick and the Pats have been successful for such an extended period. Football IQ and instincts should not be understated.
  18. Figures. I must have missed it. I don't agree with every move that Gettleman makes (most recently, the Mayo pick), but as a rule I generally overlook all of the gratuitous Gettleman criticism. The same people that would call him Gettletard are likely the ones who are bereft of the ability to critically analyze anything.
  19. The good should far outweigh an occasional drop "Gettletard"? Hilarious! I could see someone using it in a negative manner though. You may have wittingly unwittingly opened a Pandora's box. I like Chessmate better than D-Funch. Makes more sense too, considering that he's a mismatch nightmare. Chessmate, or the Big Natural No need to pick on Britt. He was actually the nest receiver on the team last year. Our own Stephen Hill is a better comparison, looking at his short history.
  20. All the Bersin hate and Brown love. I don't get it. I will admit that due to what we've brought in that it looks like Goldilocks looks to be in trouble and Philly looks like a sure thing to make the squad, but I don't see a black and white divide here as far as talent level (no pun intended). I could also easily make the case that either one should ride the pine next year, and in the event that one should have to come play that Bersin would be a better option because he is the bigger of the two. I just look forward to the competition and am not counting anyone out. Gman didn't get that high profile speed or YAC guy like I wanted, so now chain movers will have to do. At that, Bersin is a solid option.
  21. Perhaps Collins and his agent aren't "stupid" at all. Maybe once his agent realized the writing on the wall regarding the 2016 draft, this ploy was a way to virtually ensure that Collins would make it to UDFA and have the ability to sign where he wanted (being that he was screwed anyway). Say what you want, but Collins' and Turner's remarks (and tweets) are a good indication that Carolina would at the very least be in the running to land La'el. Why wouldn't he want to come and play with his best friend in a situation with a good possibility to start, with a young up and coming team? Sure the Panthers have their own unique history regarding Carruth, but if Collins is truly innocent and the authorities give him the thumbs up, the correlation between the two situations basically no longer exist. The Panthers would not have any off field reason not to sign Collins if he really wants to play here. And, I am going to guess that Collins was one of the 4/5 OTs that Gman was referring to in his pre-draft presser.
  22. Thanks. That's terrible. All my dark horses for the "next Victor Cruz" are gone.
  23. Not sure if this guy is a hands catcher or not. Nothing extraordinary about his routes. Meh for now.
