Poll: Has Bryce Played His Last Snap as a Panther?
Navy_football replied to Captroop's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it's very possible Bryce doesn't play again this season. The oline did a pretty good job against Mack and Bosa in pass pro. If they can protect Dalton and not subject him to a lot of pressure and hits, then he may make it through while playing well. Based on the Seattle game last season, he's still got something left in the tank. The running game will likely be the team's calling card anyway with a likely push coming from Brooks in a couple of weeks. He and Chuba could carry the team. We'll see. -
Definitely don't want to reach for a QB in this draft - only if there is a consensus #1 pick at QB. But, I do feel like this team is lot more rookie ready than last season because of the oline. Hopefully we'll see where they are regarding WR and RB by the end of the season.

The offense usually goes as the oline goes. This oline is legit as pass and run blockers. They are blowing guys off the ball in the run game, and forming a pretty consistent pocket for the QB. An experienced guy like Andy that doesn't give a "freak" about putting it up there just might eat in this situation. I don't think we know what we have in WRs right now. But if they're at least average, this offense could be a problem. Not "playoffs" problem, but more "in the game with anyone" problem.

A lot on here wanted to give Spencer a shot. He may have made sense in hindsight.
-
No doubt those boos at home didn't hurt either. I really think some key players spoke up too. It had to be done.
-
That was it for me too. I was holding out hope, but Legette was streaking down the sideline right in front of his face. Even an interception would have been the same as a punt, but at least give him a chance. I just knew he was gonna take that shot, but...
-
And it's not too late to actually make a difference. Patrick Mahomes wouldn't have won against the Saints week 1, but Andy may have pulled out a win against the Chargers. Bryce just didn't give them anything.
-
No arguments here. I think there's enough talent on the offense to score more than 10 points a game though. There were players running open all over the field Sunday. Defense is definitely gonna suffer without Brown. He was the glue last year as well.
-
That's true, but the oline alone is light years better. I didn't think we could judge Bryce's performance mostly because of them. He doesn't have that excuse this season. If Cam had this oline in 2015, he would still be playing after winning a Super Bowl in a blow out.
-
This team is a lot better than last year's team. Hopefully a seasoned vet like Dalton can take advantage of it. FTR, I thought he played really well in that game. But he took too much punishment to survive the season. He would have made it 3 or 4 more games before getting knocked out.
-
I'll bet they got honest feedback from the team behind closed doors.

Dalton will do fine in this offense. The oline is MUCH better than last year. Much, much, much better! No excuses for Bryce these last 2 games. I don't think Dalton would have made it through the season last year. The protection is there now. There were plays to be made Sunday. He just refused to throw the ball. He's broken.

Bryce Young faced the least pressure of any quarterback this week
Navy_football replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
CRA, we've seen him make those basic throws before. He's hesitating on basic throws. Just not seeing the field - at all. In the words of Sam Darnold, he's seeing ghosts out there. He's broken. -

This was all Bryce Young. He has the yips real bad. Staring at open guys and just refuses to pull the trigger. Guys streaking down the field and won't throw it. He has the arm. He has the speed. He has the tools. He doesn't have the confidence right now. -
Worse To Watch: Jimmy Clausen Era or Bryce Young Era?
Navy_football replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean it has to be Bryce right now. Nobody but Hurney had expectations for Clausen. Bryce was a symbol of hope that we'd finally have a functional offense that didn't rely on a Greek god at QB to bail them out several times a game. -
Honestly think we underestimated the Saints and the Chargers. They're both a lot better than we thought. Also see the Vikings and Raiders.

Dave Canales announces next week's starting QB

18 completions for 84 yards is crazy work! -
Prime Cam plugged into this roster what happens?
Navy_football replied to Ricky Prickles's topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers haven't had effective offensive playcalling or scheming since, ever... Prime Cam and Lamar Jackson are the only QBs that could have success in Carolina right now. -
Yeah these concussions are coming way too easy now. His brain is severely damaged at this point. I've heard that 3 is the magic number for the NFL. He has enough money to live out the rest of his days as a wealthy man. Time to find the next passion.

I know Hamlin felt like ish. Like sick to his stomach.

Tua! Why?! Ironic that it was Hamlin that knocked him out.

About those big money Guards Morgan spent on….
Navy_football replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The first one looked like they weren't on the same page. Johnson cut in just as Bryce released the ball. QB thought he was staying on the seam, but he cut it in at the last second. Second INT was a horrible throw by Bryce. You know you can't lead Theilen like that. You completed 100+ passes to him last season so you know him. No excuses. Probably should have just dumped off to Sanders instead. That was a difficult layered throw, that he overthrew. -

Still figuring out screen shots, but this was only an 8 yards gain. A good RB takes that at least 20. -

I'm about half way through the first half. Bryce wasn't good, but the Saints schooled the Panthers schematically. They were outcoached AND outplayed Sunday. QB had early protection, but most routes were late developing and by the time they were open the protection had already broken down. And when I say open, I mean they were actually looking back for the ball. Evero made a couple of good adjustments on the fly, but for the most part, he was schooled too. Keep Jaycee in tight bump and run. That dude is a menace playing closer to the LOS! Jewell and Shaq were late and slow getting to their gap assignments every time. It's like they think they're Safeties, not LBs. Saints had a hat on every friggin defender when they ran the ball. When they passed, they had a good mixture of early routes and late ones. We seemed to mostly do late routes only. It is bad folks. Really bad. But, luckily that's an easy fix - playcalling. Also need to get WRs to recognize when DBs are blitzing. The Saints went crazy blitzing DBs from all over the field and sending too many guys to account for. In those cases, WRs have to adjust their routes.
