Agree with most of what you said. Looked to me like BY was reading the Safety. Once the Safety followed XL, BY switched to TMac. TMac was being blanketed by a CB all the way across the field - the rub was ineffective. I agree Bryce throws to a spot away from the flat defender, but I don't think it was necessarily a predetermined spot or route. It appeared to be chemistry between the QB and WR. TMac is at the 29 after that ball is released, and then he adjusts to catch it at the 20.

I have family up in Dillon and Florence, and they have similar accents. So, I love the guy. But could you imagine if BY threw him the TD pass he threw to TMac? He would have damn near killed himself adjusting and still dropped it. If he somehow would have caught it, he definitely would have fallen down afterwards. And the Huddle would have said look at that horrible pass by BY.

Official Week 13: Rams @ Panthers Gameday Thread
Navy_football replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like turnovers were a big part of 2015. Like a huge part. -
Legette reached out with his hands to touch the DB on the way by. Barely a well executed rub. It didn't affect the DB at all (DB mugging TMac the whole route, literally no separation). TMac was running flat since the DB was over top of him. Bryce throws the ball upfield, the DB jumped inside as soon as it was released thinking it would be to where TMac was going. TMac ADJUSTS to the ball and catches it running upfield for the TD. Like come on yall...

kinda agree with this. I just don't think it's as much physical as we tend to think. It's his reluctance to push the ball downfield that irks the heck out of me sometimes. Like just give your guys a chance. What's the worst that can happen?

Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.

OTs early but really good IOL is almost always available 4th round and beyond. Heck UDFA is a great time to pick up guys that need a year or 2 before you pencil them in as starters. -
Adam Thielen Requests and is Granted Release
Navy_football replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coker made Thielen expendable. Now that he's back, there really isn't a place for Thielen anymore. Still a really skilled player, but his athleticism is no longer NFL-WR level. -

The 2026 draft is going to be OL heavy. Team needs everything. Unless guys are willing to take cap friendly deals to stay, they'll be traded a year early or released when the cap hit isn't crippling. That's the NFL. -
vs Matt Stafford's actual wide open that sailed out of bounds:
-
Stafford missed that same throw to his TE earlier in the game. Lofted it right out of bounds. And he was actually wide open. TMac was far from wide open before the ball was released and the CB was in perfect position. The pass was in a place the CB didn't expect it to be for that pass.

Come on LG... That's literally every QB in the NFL's Achilles heel. Brees and Brady too.

I don't know. Still think they could upgrade the LB room. Standup and Edge types.

Predict The Remaining Schedule
Navy_football replied to Kentucky Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
They could really win out if Canales keeps his head on calling plays. They just beat the Rams without Jaycee, Moehrig or Rozeboom on defense. Running game is waking up and finally looking like what we thought it would be before the season started, with a great 1-2 punch running the ball. Bryce isn't focusing on TMac as much now with Coker getting back up to speed (he's really our best WR right now, but TMac has the higher ceiling). I think this opens everything up. If they can start taking some deep shots to Jimmy Horn, I think we'll start to see their best football. -

It's ok to say the player you don't like had a good game, but you still don't like him. Especially when he's breaking positive records for your favorite team and helping to win games. Yall funny sometimes. Not funny haha, funny weird. -

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
Navy_football replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah last night was just a bad look for Bryce. Had every chance in the world to show us... something. Nothing to do with physical limitations. Nothing to do with defenses having him figured out. It's just him being wildly inconsistent and playing too conservatively for today's NFL. I think Canales understands they could have won the game with Rico and Chuba, but he wanted/needed to see if Bryce could step up. He did not and this could really be the beginning of the end of his time in Carolina - at least as the unquestioned starter. -

Canales is calling too many conservative pass plays instead of just handing the ball to Rico -

Makes no sense. Rico getting at least 5 yards a carry and then you stop giving it to him. And then you just take him out the game. Canales is blowing this game. -
