  1. Gotta keep the division winners in the playoffs. If not, just do away with Conferences while you're at it. I don't think the tush push should be banned. Maybe allow defenses to do the same. It CAN be stopped. As long as the defense can play by the same rules.
  2. Imagine 2 with Greg and CMC underneath. Yeah, one year Ginn dropped 5 of them and still had 10 TDs.
  3. If Canales can get them ready enough to win those first 2, we really might have something. It's hard to win in the NFL. Doesn't matter who is the opponent.
  4. Cam was generational. He could have been the GOAT. Every team was afraid that "if he put it all together" he would be unstoppable. I'm not sure Young will ever be thought of in that light. Not many in the league will. But to be fair, Cam had a defense that could carry the team some games.
  5. He was always going to be a project, but he really did look better in college. When he got here he looked like he couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time. Just the most awkward WR I've ever seen. Zero field presence or ball skills.
  6. I don't hate the TMac pick. I just thought we'd need to draft another speed guy later if he was the pick. And they did just that. And double dipping at Edge was huge! Before the draft, I thought Nic was better than Shemar, who went 17th overall. But I also thought Kenneth Grant was better than Mason Graham. Only time will tell.
  7. Agree in theory. But this offense is VERY young with new players. Same with the defense. May take a couple of games for the rookies to figure out the speed of the game and both rookies and FAs to figure out what they're supposed to be doing.
  8. Well... we're still not sure about the #1 WR either. That's a lot of expectations for a rookie that hasn't taken an NFL snap yet. And a couple of 2nd year guys that are expected to show major improvement. Last year's group showed potential. But if we're being honest, they were probably the worst in the NFL. Edit: But I love your optimism!!!
  9. Except for maybe TD. But that guy was a freak of nature. You probably could have had him put his hand in the dirt at Edge, and he would have gotten you double digit sacks.
  10. Deebo is a weapon. Not a polished WR. He opens up your offense when he's on the field. Can take a jet sweep 60 yards to the house. AT has never been that. Smitty and DJ Moore may be the only WRs in Carolina history with that kind of ability.
  11. I agree that adjustments should have been made. Even the Patriots knew to chip Von Miller all game in the AFC championship. My point is they really weren't that good. The interior was strong, but the tackles were just good enough to play complimentary football with a strong interior. When put on an island, they were exposed.
  12. I didn't say he had an all star team last year. But compared to the Panthers he did. Kittle is arguably the best TE in the NFL. Deebo is terrible? May not be a polished route runner, but he's the most versatile WR/YAC monster in the NFL. He literally started at RB. Jennings would have been Carolina's #1 last season. Aiyuk - I don't even need to say anything. And Pearsall is a faster Thielen. He would come off the bench ahead of everyone except maybe DJ and Thielen. Maybe. And let's not even get started comparing defenses. Purdy has never been in a bad situation in SF.
  13. Panthers had better skill players than the 49ers? I don't know if I agree with that. Breakdown of games played for each team's top 5 receivers: 49ers Kittle - 15 Jennings - 15 Deebo - 15 Pearsall - 11 Aiyuk - 7 Panthers Thielen - 10 Legette - 16 Coker - 11 Diontae - 7 David Moore - 17 Which one of the 49ers top 5 wouldn't start for Carolina?
  14. Right. Look at the Texans, Philly, Bills, Ravens, KC, Dolphins, etc. All of these teams build or at least try to build the team around their QB. We had a generational talent at QB, that took a ragtag receiving group and aging backfield to the SuperBowl because the FO got lucky with a couple of FA olinemen. They really weren't even that good and got exposed in the Super Bowl. So what do we do the next draft? Use it on a DT in the 1st and CBs with the next 3 picks trying to replace a guy they fumbled the bag on because of ego. I'll never forgive them for that. Never
  15. Bryce Young is not a game manager. I guess he can be, but he's best off script when the play breaks down. That's not a game manager.
  16. I don't know man. Carolina hasn't had a great resume with QBs lately either. And before someone mentions Cam. He should have been so much better than he was here. 2015 should have been the norm. Protect him. That's it. Throw any old bums out there at WR. Just keep guys from teeing off on him within 2 seconds of snapping the ball.
  17. Didn't Drake London run in the 4.5s too? That ain't slow if it's real game speed and not combine prep speed.
  18. Didn't the Giants win their last Super Bowl after going 9-7?
  19. I don't see it. Tampa's receiving corp will be the best in the NFL this season. Still waiting on old man Evans to slow down, but it ain't happening. Panthers secondary just can't slow them down. And Jaycee will likely be on IR that late in the season.
  20. Could have used 2015 for just about everyone of those. Almost same schedule if you include the playoffs.
  21. Yep. Agree mostly. I think a QB needs to lift the offense, but not necessarily carry it. I miss the pure passers like Marino, Moon and Jim Kelly. I like my QBs to be elite passers. Not elite athletes.
  22. Don't see how it matters other than taking care of the precious at the top. If you're a better team, then you'll win at home or away. Really not that big a deal unless you're traveling across country. Then again, most playoff games are later in the day, so that doesn't matter either.
