  1. Yea I can't get with this reasoning. Rivera and Washington were fighting for the division and a playoff spot last season when we beat them. I doubt he was too concerned about where Carolina was going to be drafting.
  2. They let Mclaurin torch us for an entire half, before trying to cover him with (I don't know) a former defensive MVP shut down corner.
  3. That seemed to be the offensive game plan for Rivera.
  4. What exactly are we rebuilding? Are the Redskins built? What about the Eagles? What about the Giants? What about the Patriots with a rookie Qb? The truth is this team is and was good enough to win all those games, coaching decisions and in game coaching cost us some winnable games this year, nothing being "built" is going to change being outcoached.
  5. Man I just went back and checked the 2019 preseason roster and Taylor was still on the team. I knew my memory was correct. And again he looked way better than Grier.
  6. Oh well never mind then I thought there Heinicke, Grier, and Allen were all on the same roster at one point.
  7. What did his competition do? Because the subject is relative to how he looked compared to Grier.
  8. Preseason mostly. That's the only time we as fans can really access backups. The game he did start and got hurt in he looked much better than the one game Grier started. edit: not sure if Grier ever started a game, but he did play in the regular season and looked bad.
  9. Well from my couch I had saw enough whereas I thought Heinicke looked the better of the two, but I'm not paid the big bucks. I just go by the eye test.
  10. What defense has? The bottom line is the Panthers were leading up to this game and still are one of the leagues best defenses. They've played games like last week more often this season than what they looked like today.
  11. What you pointed out can essentially be done about every Oline, every game. The Oline while not perfect kept defenders off Cam for the most part, and he had a pocket to step into. I'm failing to see how the offensive line was a glaring issue. The refs and those bogus holding calls that kept putting our offense behind the sticks was the bigger issue.
  12. I don't think anyone's hyping Heinicke like he's the 2nd coming, most people in this thread are saying the Panthers gave up on him to soon for the likes of Grier.
  13. So him beating Tom Brady and our top ranked defense in back to back weeks was just flukey?
  14. I mean it was bad in it's performance but Heinicke deserves credit too he was making some Favre like throws with defenders draped on him. That dude got some moxy, felt like that when he was here.
  15. The defense was bad. But it wasn't that bad.
  16. He's on the field now. And playing his way to being some franchise's starter.
  17. They just beat the Goat a week ago. And we're a playoff team last season, that may actually be about to go on one of the those patented late season Rivera coached team runs.
  18. These sure coaches and front offices sure love to outsmart themselves. Instead of just going by what your seeing on the field.
  19. Yea he was in sporadically and Heinicke avoided his direction when was in. But apparently Rhule and Snow wanted to make it easier on Heinicke and kept him on the sidelines for a large chunk of the game.
  20. We gave up on Heinicke too soon because he got injured. He look adequate and much better than Grier and the other backups when he was called on.
  21. That sucks because we use to own the NFC East during Rivera's tenure.
  22. Oh so Cam had some defenders in his area when he dropped back to pass, shocking, that never happens in the NFL. Oh the ref called some bogus holding penalties, and apparently Washington Oline doesn't hold. Oh by the way we got Heinicke down more times than they got to Cam. So was Washington Oline worst?
  23. Coming to the realization that Darnold was holding the offense back, is not scapegoating, it was the truth. Now as far as Rhule's coaching goes that's another topic. The defense laid a egg today, and Heinicke played the game of his life. Even with all that we still had a shot because of Cam. I believe in this defense and think next week they will have a much better showing.
  24. This game looked nothing like those Darnold losses, if you guys don't cut it out lol. Today was just an issue were our best unit had a let down. If Darnold was in the lineup we probably get the doors blown off the stadium by Washington.
